Whistle Run is a winner

One of the best places we have stayed. Great location, great views ( including watching the train), well stocked kitchen, excellent deck and a great host.

Durango getaway

We had a wonderful time staying at whistle run! There was a beautiful view and was not very far from Durango. The house was very clean and comfortable. Can't wait to visit again.

Amazing Views and Good Location

Great location near to Durango and Purgatory. Host is friendly and easy to get in touch with. She provides some hiking recommendations. We were here for hiking mainly but also enjoyed spending time on the deck looking out at the Animas valley. Trains passing by on a regular basis is a huge bonus.

Amazing stay in Durango!

Whistle run is an absolutely beautiful property managed by amazing hosts. The home is very clean and well supplied with everything you need and is in a perfect location for lots of activities. . The views are fantastic and the Durango to Silverton train running through the back is a real highlight. We feel very fortunate to have booked Whistle Run for our family vacation in Durango.

Fabulous!

Our stay at Whistle Run was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy our vacation in the Durango area. We were able to unwind and our hosts did absolutely everything to make our time away a delight. Thank you for everything!!!!!! We look forward to visiting again!

Carla and her husband were the most wonderful guests and are welcome back to Whistle Run anytime! I was fortunate enough to meet and get to know them personally and they are both such nice, pleasant and thoughtful people. They took excellent care of our home, followed all of our House Rules, left our place spotless such that you'd never even have known that they'd been here and just really went above and beyond what was expected. We'd be honored to host them again and, of course, we highly recommend them to any host.

Wonderful home headquarters

Our stay at the Whistle Stop couldn’t have been better. The home was very comfortable with great kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom accommodations. Charlotte was great with answering questions and providing needed info. Thank you Charlotte for the opportunity to stay in your property.

Station Yourself at Whistle Run

Whistle Run was the perfect property for our one month stay. Close enough to Durango in a forested private area. The front entry welcomes with potted flowers, the interior is homey, warm and very clean. Incredible views from the kitchen and decks. The 3 levels of backyard sitting areas are beautiful. The kitchen has every tool to prepare great meals. We reported an issue with the grill and the next morning a new grill was delivered. The owners are VERY responsive, welcoming and eager to accommodate guests! We highly recommend Whistle Run!

Best vacation ever

The house is absolutely beautiful and sparklingly clean. I loved the location, secluded but only 15 minutes from town. The Durango - Silverton Train passed by 6 times a day. My grandkids always ran outside to wave at the passengers. You could hardly hear the train from inside the house, but I found myself listening for it so I wouldn’t miss running out to wave. The kitchen is a cook’s dream. Every room had a view. My favorite part was sitting on the deck early each morning watching the birds and four magnificent bucks grazing in the yard. I did not want to leave. Charlotte and Marvin were great hosts. Very easy to reach via text. I had no problems with anything in the house.

Whistle Run is a true mountain gem! Great views and great location with so much to explore all around! The home was clean and the kitchen was equipped with anything you could ever need! Charlotte and Marvin were the perfect hosts - they went above and beyond with so many personal touches to make sure we were comfortable and had an amazing week! My boys loved hearing the train whistle and running out to greet the train every morning and evening! We can’t wait to visit again!

We Love Whistle Run

Fabulous property with the best host ever. Clean, comfortable and the views are unforgettable. You won’t regret your stay. Plenty of accommodations and extra touches. Our home away from home in Durango.

What a lovely, lovely family! This was their second visit and I feel like they're family now! Very pleasant and easy to host. They took excellent care of our home 🏡, followed all the House Rules, went above and beyond what they were expected to do and to top it all off, they brought me a gift which was so generous and unexpected. Tee, Rachel, Seth and Eli will ALWAYS be welcome here at Whistle Run. It was our honor to host them and we look forward to seeing them again soon! Till we meet again.... Happy Trails!
