The North Forty Cabin Retreat, private place for families, 30 min. from Bemidji

Rustic and cozy, the cabin rests on a hilltop among 40 acres of woods along a paved road in northern Minnesota. Base price of 300 per night for up to 4 adults, with one cleaning fee of 250 for any number of nights. Extra adults are 50 each per night, but children stay at no extra charge. When booking, please state only the number of adults, and then send a message indicating the number of children.

A natural stone fireplace, plus a roomy, fully equipped kitchen & dining area make the main floor homey and inviting. Guests will enjoy lovely views of scenery and even wildlife from the wrap-around deck. Settle in and experience the peacefulness!

There are multiple lakes in the area to enjoy, as well as wintertime downhill skiing at Buena Vista Ski Area, just 25 minutes away.

Loved the backwoods feel. Plenty of room for my immediate family close to a nearby family reunion. Host was very responsive. Spent a lot of time on the wraparound deck. The owls and loons were fun to listen to. The bear joining us for morning coffee on the deck was an unexpected surprise. The kids were thrilled. Best part was no internet or cable. Totally disconnected! Great family time for three generations.

Northwoods Reunion

We had a great time at this property playing games, having a bonfire, and relaxing together. Excellent secluded space!

Very secluded and quiet

Nice secluded queit cabin in the woods. Perfect for a party of people. Lots of places to sleep for larger groups. Only wish the was a swimming lake you could get to for the hit summer days.

Lovely remote, private location. Issue was bathroom situation. Cabin served as home base for 7 adults and two children. Thought it was a two bathroom home, found out the day before that one shower was broken. In reality the shower and tub were both unusable, and it really should have been listed as 1 three-quarter bath and one 1/2 bath. Trying to get ready for a wedding was next to impossible. Had I known further ahead, would have had at least 1 family get a hotel room instead.

Thanks for the compliments. We are sorry that the bathtub problem made it difficult to get everyone ready. A partial refund was sent, and the plumbing will be fixed before long. Our goal is to make our guests happy with their stay.

Secluded, roomy, beautiful.

The place was an awesome place for a secluded weekend getaway. There was plenty of room for my family and we had a great time. The property owner was easy and quick to communicate with. We would definitely consider returning to this location 😀

Excellent spot to get away from the cities and also very convenient for the family to move around and explore the nearby surroundings.

All around a beautiful stay

Property owner was incredibly flexible and responsive. House is fully equipt for a long weekend stay. The deck is such a beautiful addition, that wraps around half the house.

Perfect getaway spot!

Clean, quiet, and very comfortable. For me it was well worth the travel time and I'd do it again, for sure.

Secluded...but not excluded

Secluded home with lake view. Surrounded by woods; no neighbors to be seen. Lots of serviceable equipment in the kitchen--even a bread machine. Private bedrooms in the basement and semi-private bedrooms on main level. Loft with bunks is open to the main living area. Nice big fireplace and there's a fire circle outside Home is close to Itasca State Park and Bemidji. Terrific hostess.

Great Cabin and Owner

We are a farm family from central Minnesota. The cabin has been our vacation spot for over 20 years. We added the kitchen/dining/loft area to accommodate our growing family, and now the grandkids get to enjoy it, too.

FOR KIDS TO STAY FREE: The base price is $300 per night, for up to 4 (adult) guests. For each "additional guest" the fee is $50 per adult per night. Children under 18 stay at no extra charge, so you should not include the number of children when booking your stay.
