Place needs alot.of work inside, shades,kitchen table and kitchen counter all need to be replaced. Proximity to lake Huron and beach was great.

Overall great stay! Reading all of the other reviews as just knit-picking. This place is older, and has its flaws, but its all worth it for the price and for the beach! My goal was to spend some quality time on a nice beach with my kids, and this place hit the nail on the head. Is this the hilton? No. And I'm glad because that wasn't our goal. 10/10 will be back again.

NOTE: The Lazy Fish location was under refurbishment construction, so Tim and Nancy provided us # 7 at their Miami Beach Cabins located right down the road. Since I had stayed this site previously, I immediately approved the move since I knew the layout of the location. We had another great stay there for our brief stay. Tim and Nancy are excellent hosts for both sites. The lake view was perfect and we used the loungers on the beach to watch an amazing Harvest Full Moon rise above Lake Huron with the sound of the gentle waves…. Totally memorable . This is my third consecutive stay with them as hosts, and I plan on it not being my last. The cabins have everything that is given in their description, which is not just minimums. Highly recommend them.

Lake Huron Beachfront Heaven. We stayed in cabin 6 which was perfect for us. We loved the easy and short access to the lake. We literally walked off our little deck we had and 50’ later we were relaxing at the beach to the sound of the waves. It was quiet and peaceful, and everybody there was incredibly friendly. Definitely would stay there again thank you so much for a wonderful time.

Great Cabin in Northern Michigan

The cabin was perfect for my family and I. Right on the beach, comfy beds, clean and cozy. They also have use of kayaks!! We will come back next summer!

Beautiful waterfront

My husband and I enjoyed our cottage stay. The kitchen was a little tight but had the basic things we needed - ate out every night. Good value for the money...

This is our second time coming here and we will definitely be back. The cabin was nice, clean on arrival and nicely stocked. The only thing that we had to buy was shampoo and body wash so bring your own or stop at a dollar store to grab some! Other than that, everything was there. The cabin is right on the beach and has grills, a fire pit, kayaks, firewood, and everything else for a perfect, serene holiday. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great Beachfront Retreat

Nice beach getaway on Lake Huron. An old motel converted into rental units. Quaint and nostalgic, though lighting could be improved. Quiet and beautiful view. Close to many attractions and restaurants. Swimming good. Generally clean and well kept; some floors slope noticeably. We will likely return.

On line looks way better beds were double not queen and one of them needs to be pitched.Our last night i felt like we got rain on in room .Love your beach,shower had a good experience. Your toilet and kitchen sink may need better plumbing. Yes your roof needs to be replaced,siding up dated.place needs some loving care.But we had a good time great place for swimming on beach and bringing our dogs.Glad we able to bring our dogs.

Noise oddly

The place and location great. All pro.ised available. Cotton sheets and towels! However No wi fi. No tv. Problem, I live under detroit metro airport so came here for quite and gemtle waves. Didnt get quiet for one day. There was a generator running for construction of utilities. Constant beeping of constr equipment. Muddy driveway. Blocked driveway. My under carriage a clumped mudy mess. Wanted to inquirebut hD to drive to town to get a note to vrbo host.

Beautiful beach and view; filthy cabin

The view and beach were absolutely gorgeous, but the cabin was very filthy. Upon arrival the bedspreads were damp and full of sand. The sheets were not clean; the owner did respond right away with new linens. Cobwebs were in many corners with dust and hair balls about the cabin, sand on furniture and black dog hair on kitchen table. Safety concern about falling through the floor in front entrance to the cabin, the owner was aware and was going to repair at end of season. No smoke alarms were present. An extension cord was connected on the backside of the cabin, ran along the ground to another cabin; not sure the reason.

Beautiful Lake & View

View & proximity to beach, use of kayaks & fire pit=AWESOME. All guests were friendly & respectful of noise levels late at night/early in morning. We got a fireworks display on the 4th by a neighboring resort and didn't even have to leave our porch. We canoed on the Au Sable River-I would def recommend doing that. Lake is beautiful and clean. As noted in other reviews, the place is older and could use some updates. Toilet is finicky, floors slanted in some places-that didn't bother me and it's evident from the pictures it's older-no surprises there. A few things that aren't obvious: even the biggest unit is a TIGHT space. It says it sleeps 6-I was there with my fam (4 total) and that was pushing it on space. We spent most of our time outside but one night we did watch TV due to a bad thunderstorm and there wasn't a place for 4 peeps to sit comfortably. We ended up doubling up in the bedrooms b/c the couch & pull out were uncomfortable, so I would def not try taking more than 3-4 people to stay there. There is no A/C. Mostly that wasn't terrible as there is a constant breeze off the lake but the back bedroom doesn't get that breeze and it gets stuffy when sleeping at night. Suggestions are: a window A/C; a small vacuum b/c it gets sandy VERY quickly and stays that way b/c there is only a broom; umbrellas would be nice on the tables outside for some shade if one so desired to get out of sun for a bit. Overall it was a pleasant stay and lake access can't be beat for price.

Very shabby looking building that needs a lot of TLC to be a good rental in my opinion. The furniture looked dirty and smelled bad as well. Feels like an old grandpa’s cabin that was poorly maintained since the 70’s. I don’t understand how most people were not bothered by the smell in and out of the property. My family didn’t want to stay there for the few hours we did, yet alone one night of our two night booking. Some would say it was cozy, but to me it has a very short ceiling and felt cramped. It had possibly the shortest toilet ever invented as well. I wasn’t expecting a luxury stay for the price, but I felt misled from the pictures for the property. Pet friendly, but only one other guest had their dog or dogs leashed. Overall, a very disheartening first Vrbo experience that was money wasted, as we went to hotel down the road to keep out vacation plans for the weekend.

I’ve stayed here twice now with my family and 2 dogs. The location is perfect. It’s an older cabin, but it’s clean and cute. The shower is nice and updated. Kitchen has anything we could need. My favorite part is the bedroom window that faces Lake Huron, and falling asleep to the waves - then waking up to the sunrise.

Our hosts were wonderful and the property was very well maintained. It was a chili day at the beach and a bit breezy, but we really enjoyed our time here. Like every plan, ours had a hiccup but the power was only off for a few. We will definitely be booking this wonderful little hide away from reality in the future. The unobstructed view watching the sunrise was amazing, so this morning's cup of coffee was the best this year so far. We took some beach towels; a blanket and our dog was welcomed. What could be better than that!! Thank you, Tim, Nancy and Vrbo!

Best vacation property

The homeowners were always at arms reach... the property was clean and we couldn't ask for BETTER! Tim and Nancy were beyond incredible! We will definitely be back!

Was not happy

The beds are hard as a piece of plywood. It’s hard to sit on a toilet that is up against a wall. Nails sticking up out of the decking and inside the cabin. Doesn’t help when you have to move right away due to being on the cabin due to management. We left a day early due to this.

Great Location

Gorgeous location! Right on the lake and close to Oscoda. We also went to Tawas Point Lighthouse and Lumberman’s Monument, both about 20 minutes away. We appreciated being able to travel with our dog. We loved using the kayaks and when I texted a question, the hosts responded promptly. There were small ants in the kitchenette area which was annoying. The toilet also seemed unsteady and like the flooring underneath may have issues. Otherwise a lovely little getaway.

The perfect getaway!

This place was fantastic! Very clean and stocked with everything you needed. Wi-fi, clean towels, kitchen with all the needed gadgets, and grills at each unit. When the weather allowed all guests joined around the firepit and we met some really nice people. In a great location, close to Huron National Forest and two towns with shopping and sights to see. It was wonderful to be steps away from the water! Tim and Nancy were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The perfect hosts. We also had our two dogs with us, and it is a true dog-friendly vacation spot, and they absolutely loved the water! The units are filled with clever design touches and the property is well maintained. We plan on staying here again!
