Lovely hostess in a beautiful home surrounded by walled gardens in the center of town. Could not have had a better stay.

Great property in a great location

Great location, within walking distance of cafes, restaurants and shops. Super apartment on the top floor of a beautiful house, well appointed,with access to the spacious garden and outdoor seating and eating areas. The air conditioning was a real bonus as the weather in Sommieres was very hot during our stay. The apartment was well supplied with lovely extras such as a welcome bottle of wine and fresh tomatoes from the garden as well as plentiful household supplies for washing and cleaning etc. It was lovely to meet the family, they made us feel very welcome and relaxed, and we had a very happy week. Thank you Ghislaine, your house is beautiful. We hope to return!

This review is not meant to criticize but help both the host and the visitor to know what is expected and to improve where necessary. The property is a 19th.century mansion that was the home of Lawrence Durrell, the English/Irish writer and author, for about 30 years. The current owners have converted some of the rooms into apartments that have their own charm. They are clean and have most of what one would need in an apartment - could do with a few cereal bowls and mugs. There is no elevator/lift so accessibility will not be possible if you can't climb stairs (9 steps to the front door 49 stairs to the two top floor apartments ) Unfortunately this is not stated in the description which is not really acceptable. The host is lovely and helpful, if limited in speaking english, which she is very keen to learn, but she does all she can to help with help from her son and technology. We are not too sure about any other language skills. If there is any thing that needs attention they will see to it right away. My wife and I enjoyed staying in the apartment. It is secure and private with secure automatic entrance gates and key coded front door and ample parking. Shops and the village centre are only a short walk away with many cafes restaurants, Saturday street market tourist office and places to visit. We've been to Sommieres before and know our way around so we explored areas further afield in the 7 days we were there this year. We are happy to recommend this property.

Wir haben einen Wunderschönen Urlaub in toller Atmosphäre gehabt .Das war Frankreich pur .Nette Vermieterin.Hier stimmt alles .Sehr schön auch mit Hund .Toller Garten ,den man mit benutzen darf.Kostenloser umschlossener sicherer Parkplatz .Dicht am Ortskern.Große Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.Günstige Tankstelle und E Autoladung in der Nähe .Leider war der Urlaub viel zu kurz .Wie immer.Wir werden wohl wiederkommen.

La propriétaire était charmante et nous avons très bien été accueillis au dernier étage de la belle demeure de maison des écrivains. Le logement était décoré avec charme et bien agencé. Nous nous y sentions très bien.

Accueil très chaleureux

Belle région notre hŏte d une grande disponibilité. Maison de maître très jolie. Nous avons passé un super séjour. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Petite famille agréable et sans histoires, mais surtout un vrai bravo pour un Apt que nous avons retrouvé comme nous l'avions proposé, avec pleins d'égards avec leur hôte !...
