Large, simple apartment house "Sonnheim", 5 storeys. In the district of Zen Stecken 900 m from the centre of Zermatt, in a quiet, sunny position. In the house: lift, storage room for skis, central heating system. Supermarket 700 m, restaurant 30 m, bakery 500 m, 10 minute walk to the centre, bus stop "Matterhorn Glacier Paradise" 200 m, railway station "Bahnhof Zermatt" 900 m. Mountain railway 300 m, ski rental 300 m, ski bus stop 200 m, ski school, children's ski school 600 m. Cabs cannot stop right in front of the house. The keys‘ handover takes place by the agency Interhome in Zermatt.
"Aura", 1-room apartment 30 m2, on the ground floor. Simple and practical furnishings: living/sleeping room with 1 double bed (2 x 90 cm, length 200 cm), dining table, cable TV and radio. Exit to the balcony. Kitchen (3 hot plates, toaster, kettle, freezer, electric coffee machine, fondue Set (cheese)). Bath/WC. Balcony 8 m2, east facing position. Balcony furniture. View of the mountains. Facilities: hair dryer. Internet (WiFi, free). Please note: non-smokers only. Maximum 1 pet/ dog allowed.

Great base for a climbing trip

Well located within walking reach of all the cable cars. Good facilities so we could be self sufficient or eat out. Served as a great base for climbing some of the bigger mountians in the area

Excellent

We had everything we needed in this apartment, the kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom was clean, the position is great as it is 150 m from the ski lifts and it has free wifi. I fully recommend this for a couple who wants intimacy and to cook at home, plus to be close to the ski lifts. Very good choice and the price let's hope stays at the same level.

Excellent Location

The unit was close to the Matterhorn gondola which was great. It was also only a short walk to the vibrant downtown but far enough away to be very quiet. The unit was very inexpensive but this came at the cost of a very hard mattress and tired linens. The pillows were not acceptable but were immediately replaced when we brought this to their attention. Otherwise, everything else was basic but functional. There was a nice balcony to sit on and watch the activity below. Based on the Google directions we thought that we needed to walk with our luggage to the unit. This had us dragging our luggage up and down a hilly road. We found out later that the E-taxis could drive to our unit and did so for a very reasonable cost. It was only 17 francs flat rate back to the train station so we took advantage of that. The average overall rating is based on the quality of the accommodations. Nonetheless, the value was good for the cost paid.

Aménagement assez ancien Lits peu confortables Cuisine très moyennement équipée. Pas de possibilité de régulariser le chauffage. Emplacement pratique proche remontées mécaniques,avec local à ski et local à chaussures.

Uns hat die extrem günstige Lage in der Nähe der Tagesausflüge begeistert: Ob Schneeschuhwandern, Abendspaziergänge durch das Oberdorf oder Nutzung der Liftanlage in das Wintersportgebiet. In 2 Minuten zu Fuss waren wir am Start. Die Ferienwohnung hat alles auf kleinem Raum für einen sorglosen und schönen Winterurlaub.

Klare Empfehlung

Zweckmäßige Unterkunft im Stil der 70er in bester Lage. Tipp Topp sauber, modernes Badezimmer, gute Matratzen, technisch alles in Ordnung, sehr gute Schlüsselübergabe, Bushaltestelle ganz in der Nähe und wenn man 10 Schritte aus dem Haus geht, sieht man das Matterhorn.

Appartement Sonnheim à Zermatt: -Le store de la porte du Balcon est bloqué en haut et le dérouleur ne marche pas, comme déjà lors de notre précédent séjour en 2023. -Les roulettes des radiateurs ne marchent pas bien , la roulette du radiateur devant le balcon tombe, elle est déscellée, comme déjà lors de notre séjour en 2023. - le tablard en bas à gauche de l'évier à la cuisine tombe: un taquet du tablard manque et il est impossible d'y poser une casserole.

Insgesamt zufriedenstellend. Wir schlagen vor, die Bettwäsche, Kopfkissen und Handtücher zu erneuern für den Comfort der Gäste. Im Badezimmer Waschbecken muss man den Deckel vom Abfluss entfernen, damit dass Wasser abfließt. Sonst alles sehr gut.

Winterferien

Die Unterkunft ist mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet ausser einem benutzbaren Schrank. Leider hat es nur zwei Nachttischli mit kleinen Schubladen in denen wenig mitgebrachte Kleidung versorgt werden kann. Dafür ist das Studio sehr gut gelegen nur 5 Minuten von der Bahn entfernt was wir sehr schätzen.

Gute Lage, minimale Ausstattung

Die Heizung liess sich nicht regulieren, dadurch nachts sehr warm und trocken. Die Ausstattung (Küche) war sparsam und lieblos. Es gab keinen Schrank um etwas aufzuhängen. Dicht am Skilift Matterhorn. WLAN war gut.
