We've had a wonderful stay at Closse de Blisse. Easy communication with Samuelle. The kids enjoyed the heated pool very much. We loved the fire place. Close to Omaha beach, Point de Hoc and other must see D-Day locations.We would definately return if we were to visit Normandy again.

Great location for visiting D Day landing sites. Excellent host. Beautiful setting. Plenty of space for all the family. Lovely touches like play area for kids and the pool for when we returned after a day exploring.

Beauriful stone property in peaceful setting wirh easy access to Normandy beaches. Host Samuelle was excellent, very friendly and providing tips on local markets and bakers . The property is spacious and decorated wirh quirky charm.The teenagers in our party loved the swimming pool and made good use of pool room in property. There is a large well maintained garden with space for games. The kitchen was amazing with every appliance available from coffee makers, mixers and yoghurt maker to very large double fridge freezer. We rhoroughly enkoyed our stay and would definitely book again in the future.

Absolutely lovely peaceful stay. The kids aging from celebrating 2nd birthday up to 10 years old loved it. Perfect location for exploring WW2.
Celebrating my husband and nephews birthday made the stay even more memorable.
Beautiful sunrises in a quiet location.
My daughter and husband had a fun row in the boat.
Loved hearing the ducks in the morning.

Awesome awesome awesomeWe love Normandy and Samuelle is an excellent guide who took us to the American cemetery and pont du hoc and told stories about the life in Normandy under the warLove the house, everything is near by in car and there are history everywhere

Fantastic Autumn Break

Samuelle was the perfect host, very helpful and responsive. The house was beautiful and the swimming pool and pool table were very popular. It's very well situated for all the Normandy sights. We had a lovely holiday.

Wonderful property.

This is simply the best property we have ever stayed at. Everything was perfect and exactly as listed. Samuelle was so incredibly helpful but not intrusive in the slightest. The location is tranquil but there is lots to do within a 20 minute drive. I was sad to leave this perfect place.

The best place to spend a Christmas holiday

We loved the Omaha mansion, it was the best place for our family to spend a week. Samuelle, the host, gave us a warm welcome The weather was stormy and wet, but it was warm and cozy in the house. The fireplace was warm. The kitchen was great with its ovens, we used it every day. Everything was very good.

Amazing!!!!

This property and host are absolutely amazing- exceeding all of our expectations. The house has been so meticulously and beautifully reconstructed and modernized: it is like living in a great French country house with all of the modern amenities. The yard and grounds are amazing as well - great for our 3 young boys to play, get some energy out while experiencing the lovely pond and ducks in nature. Finally Samuelle is a gracious and welcoming host- and able to give great tourist tips and even is an expert on the D Day history. I truly cannot imagine a better place to stay!

Perfect

Samuelle is just wonderful host, kind, cheerful, responsive, helpful ... Moved the beds inside the house to accommodate our needs. The house itself is SO beautiful, the design is spotless. It’s such a joy for eyes, every detail (literary) is thought through and chosen with great taste, charm and delicacy. And anything and everything you would ever need is there. Pool and sauna are so cute and perfect, garden, animals, morning boulangerie delivery…. bref I want to go back :D. There is few houses on the property, but we never felt it, and pool was never crowded. Thank you Samuelle! I ll make sure to come back again

Spacious, tasteful and comfortable stay in Normandy

What a delight it has been for one-week stay for us two, plus our daughter, son-in-law and grand-son (aged 2.5 years). The house is spacious on three level, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Gardens front and back with barbecue, chaises longues, large table chairs outside with parasol - and swings / slide and there is green spaces all around too. The pool is great and located in one of the half-opened barns and there is a hot-tub and sauna, near the large pond with a few ducks and geese. The eight colombes make a lovely sight at all times. The Clos is handsome and wonderfully peaceful, with the nearby church only ringing twice a day at 7h/19h. And at 8am, Madame La Boulangère drives in with fresh croissants and bread or anything you would have ordered the night before. Of course, how not to mention Mrs Samuelle Carlson, the owner, the most charming of host with a large body of knowledge about the region, its history, architecture and art and more.

Fantastic Holiday with children/toddlers - beautiful place, amazing host

We stayed in Omaha Mansion for our holiday, it was a beautiful house and a great size (we had 2 families with toddlers/baby). Samuelle couldn't have been a better host, she lives on site and that is amazing for help/questions. We had fresh croissants delivered every morning and even extra high chairs purchased to help with the children. She went above and beyond so thank you Samuelle. The house was beautiful inside and out. Very well maintained and very easy with the children. The rooms are large and well done, bathrooms are great, kitchen fully stocked with great appliances, good lounge space and great eating areas inside and out. We will certainly be returning back here and might even try the other houses which are on site. We enjoyed swimming in the pool with the children, playing on the outside play swings/slide, seeing the cat/goats/doves/ducks and going around the lake on the boat. Great holiday, great location and fab host - what more could you ask for!!!

Wonderful Family Holiday with children and toddlers!

A very warm welcome by Sam, the host, awaited us upon arrival at her beautiful home in Vouilly. True to listing details, the ‘luxury guesthouse’, was exceptional in all respects- French country charm at its very best- tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Loved the rustic touch of the fully stocked kitchen. What a peaceful country setting- village church bells ringing; white doves cooing and crickets singing as evening came! Buddy the dog stole our hearts. The enclosed, spacious garden- with a park area- was ideal for our little ones to run around freely and safely. The swimming pool certainly took first prize! Such luxury! The house is ideally located for visiting the historic D-Day sites: the American Cemetery at Omaha; the military Museum; the landing beaches… ‘Lest we forget!’ The Sunday market at Port en Bessin; the toffee factory at Isigny –sur-Mer and Bayeux all visit ‘musts’ . So much to do, such little time. Sam is a very friendly and helpful host –nothing was too much for her, even sharing a little of her evening meal, tasty beef cheeks and champagne. What a chef! What a photographer! Her artistic work – family portraits and gilded country scenes are simply outstanding! Sam’s property is within easy reach of Cherbourg and Ouistreham ports. We highly recommend a visit! We would return!

Zauberhaft gelegenes wunderschön möbliertes Haus, tolle grosse Küche, schöner Umschwung. Reizende Gastgeberin! Haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Waren zu sechst mit zwei Kinder dort, die das grosse Haus, die tollen Räume, den Garten und den schönen Indoor-Pool geliebt haben!

Top accommodatie

We hebben een hele fijne week gehad. Heel erg mooi groot huis met alle voorzieningen aanwezig, ook voor kleine kinderen. Aardige goed Engels sprekende gastvrouw. Fijn binnen zwembad en sauna waar je ten alle tijden gebruik van kunt maken. Echt een aanrader!
