The Black Bear Lodge is a luxurious lodge nestled in the woods of Hocking Hills on 10 acres of private acreage while still remaining close to nearby restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The lodge boasts 4 comfortable bedrooms, large living spaces, and a magnificent kitchen and dining area. The outdoor pool is one of the best features during the summer months. Traveling is a breeze when you stay with us as the lodge is fully equipped with great amenities. Property offers game room, outdoor hot tub, fire pit, and hiking trails. State Parks, lakes, canoe & kayaking, ziplining and so much more all located within a short distance from the property.

Guests will enter an inviting space that makes you feel like you are home away from home. The knotty pine walls, hardwood flooring, and wooden accents make you feel warm and comfortable. The open-concept layout makes it easy to entertain guests. The lodge comes with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room. There are 4 bedrooms for guests to rest for a day of fun.

When you visit Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest, it is all about the experience! At Black Bear Lodge, we hope you & your guests spend quality time together. Cook home-made meals in the kitchen, dine around the hand-crafted dining table, or have a cookout on the back patio. Spend the evening watching movies with a large bowl of popcorn on the sectional. On cold evenings, cozy up next to the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate. The options are endless.

Spend time around the firepit roasting marshmallows and eating chocolatey smores around the crackling fire. Forget about the chaos of your everyday life for the weekend and get outdoors! The outdoor spaces are our absolute favorite. After long days of sight-seeing, you can spend time in the sun by the pool. Play games in the large, spacious yard. End your night by soothing tired muscles in the hot tub and taking in the views of the night sky and calmness of the forest.

Overall stay was good minus the grill not having any gas despite there beong 2 tanks. Unfortunately both were empty. Additionally, the stove barely worked. Only one small burner turned on. The oven wasnt working well either and smelled awful as it was heating up/baking.

The cabin had plenty of room for all of us and was very clean. I felt obligated to give the kids the larger room with the larger bathroom since it was the room that had two beds. I felt a little jealous of their luxury :) It was very quiet and peaceful in the area. The pricing was excellent off season! A couple of pieces of outdoor furniture need some attention but that will happen as things age and we did report it. Would defintiely stay there again!

Pool was great, entire family (10 people) able to fit all of us in comfortably. Large hot tub.

Family trip to Hocking Hills

We enjoyed our stay at black bear lodge. The cabin was very secluded and quiet. We enjoyed using the hot tub in the evening after a long hike. The cabin was very spacious and clean. We would stay here again!

Great stay

We enjoyed our stay! Plenty of room inside and outside. It was a really good. The location is pretty remote, so be careful on the backroads and drive slow!

Very nice and clean cabin

The roads to get to the cabin are very rough but the cabin it’s self was very nice and the pool and hot tub were very clean. Very nice place for entertaining a lot of guests!

Black Bear Review

Loved the cleanliness of this property and the location. Will definitely go back to this property again. It was quiet and away from everything, but close enough to Nelsonville to run into town if needed. We recommend this if you just want some quiet time away or it would be great for a large group since there is plenty of space.

Beautiful cabin and pool, very clean

Property is even better than the pictures! Comfy beds, great pool and hot tub. Well equipped kitchen. Internet is a little spotty, so be aware of that if that’s a priority for you.

Family Vacation

The property was absolutely wonderful. Everything was clean and it was exactly as pictured. The kitchen was really well-stocked and the closets in the bedrooms were huge. We especially enjoyed the pool! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
