Great location! The host was very communicative and timely in responding to some minor questions that arose prior to and during our stay. The unit was extremely clean. The unit was also much more spacious than the photo's suggest. It's in an older building, so that means "charming with lots of character" to some potential guests, but "wow, these old wood floors are squeaky" to others. It depends what you're looking for. The layout of the floor plan is quirky; not in a bad way, but more in an "older building that was later reconfigured" way. The updated kitchen was very nice, and the appliances were all great. The primary bedroom has a very soft mattress, which was OK to me but will be a surprise to some. We had a mix-up in that laundry was incorrectly advertised as being available when I booked--and was critical to my decision to book there for a week--but apparently they've corrected that incorrect ad since. We had some extended back-and-forth with the host to figure out how to address that shortcoming, which was ultimately satisfactory, but I was disappointed I had to involve VRBO corporate to get there. The bottom line is that I generally choose bookings for their location, and this one is excellent in terms of proximity to most things you'd want to do in downtown Chicago, yet is on a quiet and very safe residential side street. Overall, I recommend.
