A simple remote Alaska rustic one room dry (no plumbing) secluded 12x16 cabin. Just 5 miles north of the Town Healy , a mile off the Parks HWY at 254.4 Mile Post on Dalton Ridge Road. Just 15 miles Highway drive from Denali National Park Entrance.
A get away for two surrounded by the foothills and Alaska Mountain Range. Up on a ridge over looking the landscape. Perfect opportunity to watch for moose and wildlife. Just a 15-20 minutes hike to the lake for a viewing of Denali Mountain .
Four wheel Drive vehicle or AWD and using low gear to drive the Ridge Road required for driving to the cabin. Please DO NOT attempt to drive with two wheel drive vehicle. Ask your rental dealer if it's a 2 or 4 WD vehicle and how to operate the vehicle. Parking area below for 2 wheel drive vehicle on the left about 1/4 mile up Dalton Ridge Rd. Stay to your right at the Y and you will see the signs 4-WD only and 2-WD parking. A 15-20 minutes hike up the steep graded ridge road to the cabin. From the parking below area guests must check-in. A ride can be provided for you with a notice of arrival for luggage or gear to check-in & out from the parking area to the cabin.
Cabin provides two beds with sheets, blankets and pillows. (one Queen and one twin/single size bed), a small refrigerator/freezer, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, propane cook stove and heater. Electric outlets and a dry gray water sink. No shower
Outhouse is 50 feet away from cabin
Pet are welcome with a pet fee and can not be left on the unattended in the cabin or on the property.
Bring food and cooking pots ,pans utensils , Etc...
The town of Healy is 5 miles away for your Dinning , groceries & supplies store , shower and laundry.
Denali National Park entrance is just 15 miles south on the George Parks HWY.

The cabin is exactly as Dave describes it and it is perfectly located on top of the ridge with a gorgeous mountain view and definitely secluded! It was cozy and inviting and we loved our stay.

Beautiful spot up on the hill! Overlooking Beautiful mountains!! Also has a very nice walk down to a lake with a view of denali if your lucky otherwise the views down at the lake are also beautiful!

Cabin was super clean and cozy. A heater was available which kept it plenty worn. Water for washing dishes was there, the view was great and a nearby trail made for a nice hike. The outhouse was also spotless and well setup. We had various communications with Dave before arrival and he was prompt, courteous and very helpful! We were in a two wheel drive vehicle so upon checkin and checkout he provided transport from that parking lot to the cabin.We walked up once on our own, after having checked in… it’s not a long hike, about 4/10ths of a mile but it is steep. Took us about 13 minutes.Doubt we will ever be back in the area, but would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay the night before our camping trip in Denali. Great location, great view, and great value. We walked from 2WD parking area with backpacks and a tote bag each. It was steep but fine for us. I would not recommend attempting it with luggage. The owner is available for transport up the hill which is great if you have more to carry. Beds and linens were quite comfortable and having a fridge, microwave, and coffee pot made it a no brainer for us. Can’t beat the value in the area.

Just as described. Clean, good use of space. Beds were comfortable. Beautiful view of the Denali range from the window. Could have spent way more time enjoying the place! Bring your eye mask! We had perpetual light in June.

The perfect quaint cozy cabin in the woods. I loved hearing the birds and seeing the mountain view. The walking trail to the lake was very nice, too. Definitely would stay again!

We have a wonderful stay. The views are excellent, especially at the pond. The stary nights were extraordinary. We hope to return.

Wonderful stay. We had 2 moose at our front door at 6:30am when we took our dog out to pee. Oh my. Darling spot.

The best place to stay

I love staying in this cabin. was wonderful and relaxing. we had the best time and David was a great landor. The only thing is we renting a 4-wheel drive the next time. But we didn't mind the exercise and haking in nature.

Was exactly as advertised- a little nicer - nice little place / if you don’t have 4 wheel drive - you do have a 10-15 Lung-leg work out before you get to cabin - Dave was prompt and helpful and friendly

There was nothing I did not like. It was one of the best places we stayed. It wasn't fancy or for those who need to be pampered. The owner was a really nice and extremely interesting person.

This was a fabulous place to stay for a few days. Easy access to Denali, of course, but also a beautiful place in its own right, with great views of the surrounding area and a handsome lake within easy walking distance. You need a 4x4 vehicle to drive up to the cabin, as the description explains, but the owner kindly offers a ride both to and from the cabin for check-in and check-out. The place offers a real "get away from it all" experience, and the price in unbeatable. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area. Thanks for a great stay!
