Lakefront Cottage

Lakefront cottage with large deck boasts breathtaking views of Chippewa Lake. This 790 acre all sports lake is great for water sports, swimming, and fishing. Enjoy the beautiful sunrise, and watch the sunset reflect marvelous colors off the lake. Located 15 minutes from Big Rapids, MI this cottage includes a kid friendly swim area, campfire pit, 2 kayaks and a four-seat paddle boat. There is a DNR public boat access nearby, and East Bay general store offers lake access for recreation and regular gas. Private dock space to park one watercraft vehicle provided. Taking a boat or car ride to get ice cream is something the kids will enjoy, or hanging out at the sand bar where kids can stand and play in the sandy, shallow water! For nature lovers- sightings of loons, bald eagles, cranes, blue herons, and more will keep you on the lookout. For adventure seekers- bring your Jeep, ATV, or ORV and fling some mud on the nearby trails and seasonal roads. The Haymarsh State Game area, The White Pine Trail, and Muskegon River are also close by. Weekly and monthly discounts are available.

This was the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful Michigan summer weather. It had everything we needed and the location was perfect. We enjoyed using the paddle boat and kayaks and the lake was great for swimming and fishing. We would definitely stay again!

The cottage is great. We had everything we needed. We really enjoyed using the kayaks and paddleboat. Every morning we opened all the doors facing the lake and left them open all day. It was so nice to be near the water!

Great stay

This is our second time staying here. Just like the first time the place was very clean and neat. Very easy to enter the place , unload and unwind for a beautiful week at the lake. The large deck is a wonderful place to sit morning, noon and night. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful sunrises. Definitely staying there again!

Great place to stay!

You can tell the owner takes great pride in their place. The cabin was extremely clean, kitchen fully equiped, outside grounds were neat. Loved having the washer and dryer for just a few things I needed done. The owners were available at any time, always wanted to make sure everything was just right for us.

Beautiful lake. Nice accommodations. We rented a pontoon and enjoyed the lake! The local marina market is well stocked and very friendly staff

Great lake house

What an amazing weekend! We were able to enjoy amazing fireworks and had a very relaxing weekend! Would highly recommend!

The property was extremely clean and adorable with great view and location. I didn’t realize I could not have any of my family walk down that was up for the holiday. I should have read it better apparently. I was texted and contacted immediately when a person entered the property which means they watch every second of the property when my family was stopping down not staying.

When accommodating your earlier request to modify your reservation to add six additional guests, we advised that, per VRBO policy and the rules outlined in our listing and rental agreement, only the guests included on the reservation are permitted on the property during the stay. This policy also applies to day visitors and temporary guests who are not registered on the booking. These requirements are in place for safety, liability, and insurance purposes and help protect both guests and property owners. When the property manager notified me that there appeared to be significantly more than the nine registered guests on the property, I promptly reached out to clarify the situation. I appreciate your immediate response and cooperation in addressing the concern and complying with the house rules. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and would be happy to host you again in the future.

The cottage is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is very adequately stocked for cooking meals in. The view is beautiful, and the lake is shallow at the shore and along the dock so small children would be easily entertained in the water. Really enjoyed the deck. The hosts are very responsive to all questions. We would rent again - had a great experience!

Lovely Cottage on the Lake

Lovely place on the lake. The house had everything we needed plus fun games. The bay windows give a wonderful view of the lake. We enjoyed spending time on the deck. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and left good instructions. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

great cottage for your Michigan lake vacation. Cottage had everything you'd need and then some little extras you can use when you're away from home. very nice lake with good fishing. lake water is low this season so quite shallow at the pier. owners are very responsive if you need anything

Beautiful home

This is a very nice home away from home. Very clean, decor is beautiful. Fully equipped kitchen, which we would have hardly used had the weather cooperated. Excellent fishing. We had a tornado warning during our stay and the owner was in contact with us almost immediately to make sure we felt safe. Best vacation I've had in years!

Lake house

If I’m paying a thousand dollars for 4 nights I would like cable of some sort and WiFi. Maybe I should’ve asked but you should put it online.

Thank you for your feedback. On our VRBO page under the amenities section the wifi and cable/satellite television options are not checked, meaning they are not provided. We do offer a variety of DVDs for those rainy days when it is hard enjoy the lake.

Kids loved going out on the lake kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing. Sitting around the campfire at night roasting hot dogs and making smores. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Rachel was very helpful with all of our questions. We had a great time!

Loved our stay at this property!!! Waking up to the beautiful view of the lake, either inside the cottage looking out of the many door walls that seemed to bring the lake right into the cottage or sipping on a cup of coffee on the beautiful deck! Then spending the day with my kids and grandkids on the lake enjoying the many water activities the hosts provides….inner tubes, two person inflatable boat, and paddle boat! The lake was clean with a sandy bottom, not a lot of seaweed or a mucky bottom, so we were able to swim every day!!! The cottage was stocked with everything you need, right down to laundry detergent and dryer sheets for any washing you might need to do!! Will definitely stay here again!!! Thank you Rachel and Brian, your cottage helped to make wonderful family memories!!!

Great Chippewa lake cottage!

Loved the deck and the lake and bottom were great there! We had everything we needed! As an fyi The phone signal is a bit sparse in that area and Wi-Fi would have helped for communicating with our other family members in other cottages around the lake but we would highly recommend!

Beautiful view!

We had a wonderful relaxing time here watching the water birds, floating, taking out the paddle board, or just relaxing on the dock. The only suggestion might be a ladder or step stool to get back up on the dock....we were all retired friends! :) The cottage had all the amenities we needed and was very clean and cozy! Thank you for a wonderful experience and for sharing your special place with us!!

Excellent location on the lake.

We really enjoyed our stay . The deck was a great area to sit in the morning and even though the whole day. Great view, we were out the wind, and the water stays mainly calm. Would definitely stay again. If you ever think about selling give me a call. 517-285-8841. Thank you again for the great cottage rental.

Wonderful Getaway

We had such a nice time, the cottage was perfect. It's a bit remote, so it's far enough out that you feel like you are 'away' but still close enough to town to make a run to the store if you find you forgot something or need to grab a few quick items. Rachel was super nice and communicated very well. I found myself out on the deck or dock every morning just enjoying the scenery and listening to the local birds chirp. The pictures are great, but honestly don't do the cottage justice. The short path between the deck and the dock has tall old growth trees that provide wonderful shade and a lovely frame for the lake. Beds were comfortable, and the place is well kept and clean. All of the essentials are there, and a few nice to haves as well. If you are considering a stay here, just book it. You won't regret it. We found ourselves wishing for a longer stay several times during the trip. One note that isn't so much a detriment but something to be aware of ... Cell coverage isn't great at the lake and surrounding area and there is no internet at the cottage. I am a geek and went through a little tech withdraw while we were there, but managed just enough hotspotting to do the tasks I needed to while I was away from work. You won't be streaming movies while you are there, but my family of internet addicts didn't really miss it as much as we thought we would at first. Definitely a five star spot, and it gets a huge thumbs up from us.
