The Porch House sits on the edge of 40 wooded acres ready to be explored. Rocking chairs on the wraparound porch provide a great view of the woods while sipping morning coffee. The open floor plan and expansive windows bring the outdoors indoors while cooking, dining, and relaxing. Three living areas offer comfortable spaces for chilling with friends. Two bedrooms with king beds and one bedroom with twins, two full baths, and two half baths, offer accommodations for at least six.

Family Christmas

The Porch House was the perfect place for our extra family in town for Christmas. So much better than a hotel.Sondra was a wonderful host! We look forward to staying again.

Wonderful weekends

We love staying at the Porch House! We stayed on four different weekends this fall. This was our 3rd year to spend some weekends at the Porch House. Our son is a student at MSU, and anytime we come to visit, we stay at the Porch House if it is available. It's always spotless when we arrive. The bread and jelly are outstanding, like everything at the Porch House. We love the separation of spaces, upstairs and downstairs. Each has a king size bed, separate temperature control, and 1.5 baths. The kitchen is spacious. We cook and use the grill. There is a long table with plenty of seating. The porch is awesome! Thank you for providing such a great place for our "home away from home".

One of the best !!

Truly perfect! We were in town for our son’s grad from pilot training at the Columbus Air Force base. The house was perfect for our family of 6 and we were able to host a few of his fellow pilots and families for a brunch. It’s an awesome space, fantastic porch, great beds. Sondra was very accommodating and communication was wonderful. One of the best vrbos we’ve ever stayed!!

Love staying at the Porch House

We've stayed at the Porch House a few times and enjoyed every one of our stays. Sondra and Jim are outstanding hosts, the house is great, and the property is fun to explore.

Wedding Accommodations

My husband and I recently stayed at the Porch House with other family members to attend a wedding. House was very nice, clean and comfortable. The huge porch would have been great if the weather had been a little cooler. Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels in the bathrooms. Sondra welcomed us with sour dough bread and strawberry fig jam which was delicious. Location was great. Tucked back off the street the house was very private, yet very near the wedding venue. We would definitely stay again.

Amazing experience!

The Porch House was amazing! The pictures do not begin to do it any justice. It’s simply breath-taking. It was perfect to host small gatherings during our family reunion. It was spotless and Sondra baked delicious homemade sourdough bread and preserves! My husband and son were ready to trade me in for her! LOL! Thanks for helping us create memories we will cherish forever!

Family Stay

It is a wonderful home with charm and warmth! The wrap around porch was perfect for my morning coffee! My husband seeing the wildlife through the gorgeous windows on the main floor! We will definitely stay again if possible! I would highly recommend it!

Family Wedding Weekend

The Porch House was just lovely. Such a quiet location with views and seating from every side. The home is spacious and accommodated our group perfectly. Sondra is a gracious host and met every need. We will happily rebook the Porch House again.

Awesome porch!

Beds were comfy and house is well appointed ! Our host, Sondra, was so thoughtful! She baked us homemade sour dough bread with jam! Such a nice touch! All in all a very enjoyable stay!

Graduation Trip

We stayed at the Porch House for our son’s graduation from Mississippi State. I cannot recommend this house more. The front porch was delightful for morning coffee and so relaxing. The home had everything we needed and so comfortable and inviting. We had the best time and hope to stay again at this wonderful home when our son graduates with his Masters in 2 years. Excellent communication from the owners!!!

Amazing home

You can tell the host put a lot of time and effort into decorating this home. When I tell you this home is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay with extra emphasis on EVERYTHING! It was very spacious and it accommodated myself and my guests comfortably. I rented this home for my daughter’s graduation party and we had about twenty eight guests to attend. The plan was to enjoy the upper and lower levels of the porch but the weather said otherwise. Even though it rained, we were still able to fit comfortably inside without being cramped on top of one another. There was plenty of dining space and recreational space. Like I said, the house literally had everything. The host was also very helpful. I had some questions upon arrival so I sent the host a message and when I say not only did they respond promptly, they called me. I’ve stayed at several other places before and never once have I had the host reach out through a phone call, they would always message. The host was extremely patient and polite and you could just feel the positive energy through the phone. They urged me that if I had any other questions or concerns to please reach out without hesitation. I could go on and on about my experience with this host and the porch house but I will end it with this, UNTIL NEXT TIME!

Very pleasant experience and amazing host!

Staying at the Porch House was an absolute delight! Sondra, along with her husband, were incredibly hospitable hosts who truly exceeded our expectations. Sondra's personal touches, like the freshly baked bread and homemade strawberry jam, added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. Their responsiveness and helpfulness made the experience seamless. The house itself was impeccably clean with a beautiful view, delivering everything we anticipated and more. We're already looking forward to our next booking!

Daughters UPT graduation

This was a perfect spot for family to stay for a ceremony and dinner at the Air Force Base. A lovely home and we really enjoyed it. My mother left an earring in the bathroom and the host mailed it back to us. Very kind hosts. Highly recommend.

Christmas at the Porch House

Overall it was a great stay at the Porch House. We had 6 adults staying here and it was very comfortable for all of us. Sondra was amazing to communicate with from start to finish. When we arrived she met us at the house and gave us the rules and information we needed for the stay. She also made us some amazing homemade bread and jam that was sitting on the counter when we arrived! It was very good and thoughtful of her. We celebrated Christmas with some family in Columbus and the surrounding area. They all came over and visited during our stay. There was plenty of parking and it was comfortable moving around and utilizing all the amazing space available to us. I had asked Sondra if she had a Christmas tree available for us to put up since we were hosting Christmas and had a number of small children. She pulled one out of her garage and had it ready for me to setup! We utilized the kithen, cooked up a storm and had lots of laughs and fun thanks to our thoughtful host. There were great views and peacful area on the back porch. It was amazing!

MSU weekend

We LOVE the porch house! Our son is a sophomore in the band at MSU. We've stayed in several different places for football game weekends or other visits over the last two years and the porch house is our favorite by far. Thanks so much to Sondra for hosting us for 4 weekends this past season. My wife and I stay with my parents usually. Sometimes my brother and nephew also join us. Two king size beds! 1.5 baths upstairs AND downstairs! Separate thermostats for upstairs and downstairs. We cook and enjoy family time around the big table. The porch is very relaxing. The bread and jelly are delicious.

Lovely home and hosts

We enjoyed our stay at the porch house! Our trip was to visit our freshman son at MSU. It was a short easy drive to Starkville from here. We enjoyed gameday and celebrated a birthday. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space for us to hang out and catch up. The yard and porches make the house feel special. Sondra and her husband James were perfect hosts. The sourdough bread and jam were so appreciated. We can't wait for our next visit to the porch house.

Wonderful stay

Our family enjoyed our stay so much in this lovely home. The home is comfortable, clean and beautifully renovated. While sitting on the porch we watched birds, even an owl, and deer come into the yard. Sondra, our host even left us two loaves of homemade bread and strawberry fig jam which we enjoyed immensely! Highly recommend if staying in Columbus.

Graduation and Air Force Commissioning

We needed the home for 10 days to be near Starkville MS for MSU graduation and Air Force Commissioning. We had several people coming and going, but the houses' three bedrooms, and couches were more than enough. The yard was large and allowed friends to play darts, etc. outside. We had the pleasure of meeting Sondra's husband. All very friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating people. They made our time there a pleasant one. Thanks again for everything.
