The host was quick to respond, and the communication was great. The backyard was a highlight of the trip, as there was a lot of seating and we enjoyed watching a doe and her two fawns play as enjoyed the scenery.

There are guest passes fir the pool and they did not use them. It says access to a pool not pool on premises. Not sure how that got misinterpreted. Hope that they had a pleasant stay besides that. In our communications before that it seemed like an awesome 🤩 stay

Host was very communicative and helpful! Linens, towels and surfaces were very clean! Outdoor furniture was dirty (understand with the time of year). Found old mice droppings in a closet when looking for a broom to clean up after meals.
Linens were clean! Throw pillows were not.
Kitchen and countertops were clean! The house could use a deep clean overall.

I need to start off with stating that David is the most responsive host I have ever rented from. Check in was a breeze and the instructions were clear. The property was well appointed and the only thing we needed was food. Cool backyard with lots of seating and fire pits, very clean bbq grill. Everything was covered and we covered when we left even then it still needed to be brushed off. I clearly did not read the property details well enough and didn't know a bedroom and bathroom was in the garage which is detached from the home. We made it work and had a great time overall. Very pleasant stay.

This was a lovely property, convenient to so much with thoughtful details. Check-in and check-out were easy, communication with host was exceptional. It was comfortable, clean, restful, and just what we needed for a long weekend! Great local tips and lots of cozy blankets!

Xmas getaway

We had our family all together in Angel’s Camp for the holidays and wanted a place to gather afterwards for a relaxing day together. It was perfect for that and we I’ll be back in the summertime!

Great spot and great cabin- We will be back

This cabin was amazing, it was a great place in a great location and could not be happier with our choice. We have 2 dogs and we were able to enjoy this newly renovated cabin. We enjoyed the quiet cozy location close to everything and will definitely be back. The hosts are very responsive and could not ask for more.

Darling cabin

We had such a wonderful stay here, beds were super comfortable!! The cabin has some really nice upgrades, including a beautiful kitchen island, and an induction stove. The backyard was perfect for entertaining our family!!! Thank you for having us, David!!!

The cabin says four bedrooms, I didn’t realize one is over the garage in a separate building.We rented for four nights in August, it was very hot 95 every day. I contacted the host prior to arrival and asked if the air conditioning worked. He said yes. Be warned: there is no air conditioning in the garage bedroom or the loft in the main house. Two of four bedrooms no ac .I asked the host if we could get an early check in. He said no he had tenants and had to clean. We arrived an hour early. I could tell there had been no one there, no “clean smell” but we had to go out and buy our own fantastic cleaner , apparently the “cleaners “ used it all. The Deck and furniture was filthy, covered in pine needles and dust, no one had been there in a while. There is no blower for the deck not even a decent broom.The deck is very old beware the nails sticking up.There was a note from the host about quiet time regarding the neighbors. I understand why. When you sit on the deck there are four other decks looking back at you. It’s a big circle essentially with all the house decks looking in.The host is timely responsive, but not otherwise.I could go on, and I will. The host contacted me and asked if air conditioning techs could work th re on Friday, I said sure no problem. I asked why he said routine maintenance. It was as a repair. Deck tables are brokenVery expensive to use the beach with the family

Guests did not give me a chance to have portable AC placed in loft area and did not communicate any issues but did stay and enjoy time there while letting me know through the chat that it was beautiful up there. They asked to come early and I could not make that happen due to cleaning scheduled right before they arrived and that NO seemed to upset them and turn and otherwise nice stay into an upsetting one. A routine AC maintenance was scheduled on a Friday months in advance before they booked and I even asked them if it would be ok or if I should change it and they said it was fine. I’m not sure what else I could do but cancel it even though they said they were ok with it. As for the pine needles, the cabin is out in an area with trees 🌲 and they drop needles it’s going to happen and even after you clean them off more drop! Hope they can think about what a great time they had and concentrate on that and try to be more positive. If they let me joke about any issues I would have taken care of anything that was not right if I was given the opportunity but they did not and they just left and wrote the review. Maybe 🤔 I’m the future let the owner know of any issues and give them the benefit of the doubt and a chance to rectify and issue that they may have within reason before you write a negative review, Thars what I have done in the past and if it’s not rectified then write away! Hope they vs reflect on the good time they had and not a few things they did not go as planned.

It was very easy to find everything with the instruction the owner left.

This was the 1st time I stayed at a rental from Vrbo and I was satisfied. The owners provide more than I had known. All toiletries plus extras. They also had a ton of board games that my kids and grandkids played with.

The property was absolutely filthy. It seemed like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. We arrived to a full piece of toast under the table along with other food bits and crumbs all over the kitchen. There was pee all over the toilets and some sort of poop smear on the bathroom floor. The towel hanging in the bathrooms were damp and seemed used. The walls and doors had dirty black smears all over. I could on about the cleanliness but you get the point. The game room/loft had an exposed wire on the game table which is very unsafe. The loft area above the garage is DETACHED from the main house which I wasn’t aware of when booking. It wasn’t listed anywhere, there are pictures of the detached garage but I didn’t put that together. So fyi. Also there is no AC up there so it was stuffy and very hot. The hot tub advertised was unusable as it was less than half full with dirty yellow cold water. Also we went to use the rec center/lake that was advertised and the owners club pass got revoked because the account was in bad standing. It was not an ideal stay for us. We were trying to get away for a few days of fun but ended up with all this stress and having to clean other people’s messes before we could even settle in.

Cozy Cabin

We utilize rentals often to accommodate our family and furbaby. Dave was one of the most responsive and friendliest host I’ve ever had contact with. The house was warm and cozy and stocked with everything we needed. The house is very kid friendly and the game room/loft above the garage is perfect for older kids/preteens. The driveway was flat with a basketball hoop and (if you go in winter and don’t have 4x4). The hot tub is huggggggee. My in-laws are already talking about bringing their other grandkids back, we will definitely keep Dave’s place in mind for the future.

Nice home just no heat

When we arrived the heat was off and the cabin was 45 degrees. We attempted to use the fireplace but the wood was soaking wet and 5/6 lighters did not work. The chimney flew wasnt working correctly so smoke just rolled into the cabin then blew out the small fire we were able to start using toilet paper and sticks. The owner wrote back quickly but was unable to help with anything. We bundled in our snow gear and all slept together on the couch to keep warm. It finally got to 65 degrees by 3 in the morning. The house was nice and as described on the website. Although not sure it was cleaned thoroughly before we arrived as I found Christmas wrapping paper behind and between the couch cushions, dust bunnies on the floor and questionable debris along the windowsill. We would like to try a re-do in the future but are hesitant because of the heating situation. Our kids enjoyed the game room very much. Something small but in the checkin message owner said there was paper towels available in the closet, but of course could not find paper towels anywhere. Wish it would have been a little more of a relaxing getaway when paying so much for a vacation.

Great!

Very clean. It had everything we needed. Great location. Little kids loved the loft area and big kids loved the area above the garage. Adults enjoyed the backyard. Very quiet and serene neighborhood. Owner was very responsive.

Great family getaway from the heat

We used this mountain cabin as an extended family getaway for our annual vacation together. Arnold was an ideal location as it is generally much cooler in the summer than where we live. *( It would also be the perfect rental for a snow vacation in the winter.) We enjoyed the wildlife, the rain!!!!, and the close proximity to great dining and nature spots such as Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Using the loft above the garage, this home easily slept 8 people. Dogs allowed - this was a bonus. Additionally the host responded promptly to questions.

Two family vacation to relax. amazing location, great accomodations for blended families

The Host was simply amazing. easy to communicate with. while they state they are new to VRBO...it didn't show. Cabin was emaculate. Renters guide was through and easy to read. house offered a great opportunity to be together and separate at the same time. cozy but not too small. and split living quarters were perfect. my two girls (5 and 12) had the loft. my wife and I had a room and our friends the same. all the boys (8, 10 and 13) had the apartment above the garage. could not have worked out more perfect. not to mention our families share 4 dogs.. Needless to say we had a great time and the host gets a 5 of 5 from my blended family. thank you David for a great weekend retreat.

Want A Great Retreat?

This is it. 3 families w/ kids, trees, lake, trails, relaxation. The wives were happy and the kids loved it. Unlike some of the other VRBOs we’ve stayed at there was more than enough utensils, cups, plates, plenty of soft blankets and towels to go around. All of the appliances, bathrooms are updated. The hosts provide a sweet little book which gives you all the details and instructions of all the devices in the cabin. We BBQed on the grill (which the hosts provided plenty of propane), there’s wood for the fireplace (we did not use), the hot tub was a nice touch, and the loft was perfect for my family to stay in together. Perfect spot for 2-3 families or 3-4 couples. Has a Tahoe-like feel without it’s massive landmark. Arnold isn’t the traditional go-to travel destination, however highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxing weekend. If this spot were in Tahoe it’d be sold out every weekend. Job well done.

Lovely spot

Came with family (all adults) and had a lovely time. 10 minutes or so to the beautiful Calaveras Big Trees state park, and only about a half hour to Bear Valley ski resort. The 4th bedroom/game room and second bathroom are in a separate building, which could be a pro or a con depending on your situation. Great big sofa for relaxing, good fire place. Check in was easy and host was very responsive. Overall a fantastic little cabin and I would definitely come back!

Cute home in Arnold

The house had plenty of room for the 3 families staying here together & was ideal for our group with older teenagers. The one bathroom in the main house was often busy with the majority of us staying in that building. Not sure the property description makes it clear that the second bathroom and loft above the garage (with room for 4 people) is in a separate building a short distance away. It worked well for us as our teens felt like they had their own apartment with fun games inside. Wonderful blankets! Great kitchen update with all the utensils/cooking equip we needed. Great back patio with all-day sun!

Winter getaway

Took my adult children and their significant others on a winter escape… We had a wonderful time and the cabin was clean, host was friendly and had great communication. We’re definitely going to come here again.
