The property was very nicely decorated and in a great location. Sara went above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming. As others have noted, the house has an unusual configuration and although there are four bedrooms, there was not a lot of privacy. It was not a problem for us, but I appreciate that the host has been clear about the set up of the home. We had a wonderful time in Oaxaca and I would highly recommend this property.

The host was quite welcoming and the house and the courtyard is lovely. The location is also quite good--just a few blocks west of Santo Domingo Church.

Charming and great location

Perfect place to stay for a trip to Oaxaca - lots of charm and walkable to everything in the city center. The main road can be busy but once you’re inside it is an oasis.

Beautiful relaxing stay

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Blanca. It was within walking distance of so many places. We enjoyed coffee on the patio in the morning, and also relaxing after a day of touring. I would stay here again.

A fantastic stay

The kind of place that even though you've seen the photos, your jaw still drops when you walk in and see it for the first time, and many times after.

Sara the host was excellent and very helpful. The room arrangements are odd, having access through one bedroom to the others, and each having spiral staircases as alternate access. The water shortage situation is unfortunate, but not fixable by individual houses. Potable water in bottles was available in the house. The kitchen is adequately supplied with equipment and utensils. The courtyard is beautifully decorated with potted plants. The location is perfect for the central area and zocalo, a 15 minute walk. The street however is very busy and noisy. The beds are comfortable.

Did you have a nice stay andrew? Yes the house is a bit quirky due to the decisions of I.N.A.H. at the time when renovated. It is a good location in centro and we find it to be quite relaxing and quiet once inside and off the street. Did you find that to be the case?

Wonderful place for a family vacation!

Our extended family had a magical stay in Oaxaca at Cyntia's home! It is just central enough to be walkable everywhere, yet on the perimeter enough to be away from most of the noise and traffic. With a beautiful garden interior and plenty of space for all, this was the perfect getaway!

Beautiful property

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location is very convenient and the house us very well appointed. Communication with tje property iwner and manager was excellent!My only criticism is that the write up should warn that people with mobility issues might find is challenging; also that it is a noisy neighborhood.

Great house for family

Beautiful house for a multigenerational family to stay in. Great kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms for dispersed but communal vacation. Arturo, the property manager, is excellent. Only comment is to be aware it is close to downtown, excellent for walking, but certainly quite load some nights from the club nearby.

Wonderful Vacation

This was a family vacation with three brothers and their spouses. The property was wonderful, clean, conveniently located and fun. Arturo was awesome and even pointed us to a market 2 blocks away which we accessed daily. Thank you so much and if we have a big enough group next time we visit Oaxaca, we will be contacting you.

A beautiful oasis in the city center

We loved everything about this property… great location to walk to bakery, markets, galleries, etc. We had a car and had no trouble parking on the side streets. The design of the house is challenging if you have disability, but otherwise it is the perfect set up. We cooked one meal each day and had everything we needed.

Ample house, excellent location

We truly enjoyed the house. Its centrally located and close to the main attractions in the city of Oaxaca. Beautiful outdoor areas allowed us to relax and have fun. Each of the upstairs rooms has its own independent stairs, which provided privacy to the people who occupy them when getting in and out. Truly enjoyable house.

Centrally located convenient property

This property was in a prime location - within walking distance to everything that we wanted to see in Oaxaca, so was super convenient. Cinthia and Arturo were very responsive, and the property was spacious for the 5 of us in our family. Great food options and sightseeing were within minutes of walking.However, the property is adjacent to a new club, sharing a wall with it, so that Friday and Saturday nights we could hear music until all hours of the morning, impairing our sleep.

Oaxaca up close

Great location, a bit of street noise, 3 bathrooms but none upstairs with 3 of the bedrooms. Need larger lightbulbs. All in all a great place.

Perfect location

We love being close enough to walk everywhere and yet be a few blocks away from the busy Alcala. The neighborhood market is just a couple blocks away and is one of the best in the city. The house’s courtyard is beautiful and feels like an oasis from the city.The 4 bedrooms gave us each a place of our own. The house is beautiful and full of interesting artwork.

Casa Blanca

More than ample space for a large group, there were 7 of us. Love the garden space. Stairs to bedrooms are a little challenging but we all got used to them. Good location. My only wish is that the WiFi was more reliable.

GREAT LOCATION. Near EVERYTHING in the centre of the city. BEAUTIFUL SPACE. Well equiped kitchen. The fotos do not do it justice. Arturo the caretaker was very helpful. We had such a fantastic time. I highly recommend this place!

Great location, spacious, and not a problem to have the bathrooms outside. Very pleasant, and you wouldn't know how cool it is inside from the street. We had a fantastic stay. We did not cook, but the kitchen should be functional enough. The outside area was nice to sit for coffee, and at night, the noise was not a problem. We had everything within walking distance, lots of fantastic cafes, and the very best restaurants. Calipso gym is around the corner, you can buy day passes, and it has everything you need for a workout. I would recommend refreshing the bed mattresses and upgrading to a modern coffee maker.

I am sorry that you had these unpleasant experiences at the house. I hope you spoke with the caretaker. No one has ever said these things before. AS for the design, we had to leave all existing adobe structures in the same location due to I.N.A.H. guidelines as the house is in a UNESCO historic site.

A beautiful refuge in the centre of Oaxaca

We loved our stay in Cynthia’s beautiful colonial house, just steps from so many of Oaxaca’s wonderful attractions. The house is outfitted with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The sunny kitchen was the perfect place to start each day. Arturo was so helpful and responded quickly to any question. It was always a joy to step into the calm of the courtyard and feel at home in the centre of the busy city. Thank you so much for providing such elegant and convenient accommodation.

Convenient Location!

This is a beautiful property that reflects the vibe of Oaxaca. The location is close to shopping, restaurants, cathedrals and most of the sites--are within walking distance. Bathroom areas were a fairly close distance to bedrooms and house was clean and safe. Sounds from the local businesses are hustling during the night, and can be heard throughout the house. Owner shared lots of valuable information for getting around Oaxaca and contacts for transportation. Oaxaca is a fabulous place and will will return.

Amazing experience, beautiful place

The home was beautiful, absolutely walkable to so many amazing places in the city. Arturo, who manages the home was super helpful and attentive and gave us an introduction to the house as well as recommendations to eat around the area. The indoor/outdoor nature of the home was refreshing. Incredibly clean, kitchen stocked with essentials (including several different types of coffee accoutrements, full size fridge, filtered water, hammocks). The landscaping and greenery inside the house made it like an escape from urban life.

respite in the city

We had a great experience at this property--especially liked the location. The only challenges we found were that it was a little tricky with a toddler as far as the many areas with staircases without railings/safety barriers--As well, noise between the rooms was somewhat distracting for a curious little one. Some minor amenities were lacking such as a toaster, outlets in the bathrooms and a working washing machine. Overall a really nice experience. Solomon, who is the recommended car service was an amazing and gracious addition to our stay.
