Información de la propiedad
Cévennes quiet house in the countryside
Located on the edge of the Cévennes National Park on a dominant plot of land, this farmhouse offers unobstructed views.
This 18th-century building offers 135 m² of living space, completely renovated. It includes:
- 3 bedrooms, each with walk-in closets, a toilet, and a sink
- 1 light-flooded living room with a large Cévennes fireplace and bread oven
- 1 dining room
- 1 fully equipped kitchen opening onto a covered terrace
- 1 spacious bathroom and a second separate toilet upstairs
- 1 separate toilet upstairs
- 1 patio (interior courtyard)
- 4 terraces (including one overlooking the garden and its barbecue)
- 1 central heating system
The Cévennes National Park was designated a "Biosphere Reserve" by UNESCO in 1985. Then, in 2011, the agro-pastoral cultural landscapes of the Causses and Cévennes were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Cévennes National Park extends across three departments: Lozère, Gard, and Ardèche. It is the only mid-mountain national park in mainland France and the only one with a significant permanent population.
THE PONT DU GARD: a magical place just an hour's drive from the house. An exceptional ancient monument, the Pont du Gard has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. 2,000 years old, the Pont du Gard proudly overlooks the winding Gardon Valley and remains an undisputed symbol of Roman civilization. Its spectacular dimensions, its soaring architecture, and its remarkable state of preservation. Primarily known for its exceptionally large aqueduct, the Pont du Gard site is also renowned for the beauty and diversity of its natural environment.
THE NÎMES ARENA, an hour's drive away. While larger Roman amphitheaters are known, this is the best-preserved of all. The Arena perfectly illustrates the level of sophistication achieved by Roman engineers in the design and construction of this highly complex building. For those who love numbers, during Roman times, the monument could accommodate 24,000 spectators, spread across 34 rows of stands. The amphitheater's design ensured everyone had a complete view of the arena. During your visit, you can explore the underground galleries located beneath the arena, which formed the backstage area. Trapdoors and a system of elevators allowed scenery, animals, or gladiators to appear during shows. Take advantage of your visit to also visit the Maison Carrée and the Tour Magne.
