This listing is for UNIT B (The Upstairs Apt) only!

THE SKINNY: This historic beachy bungalow is the upstairs 1 bedroom apt of a duplex situated just a hair off the beach, and very close to all of prime Vilano Beach's offerings! Amazing natural light pours through this charming apartment all day long! The covered back balcony with seating and grill provides the perfect shady break from the afternoon heat. Just a few minutes drive from downtown, this is a perfect location for enjoying the best of both worlds St. Augustine has to offer - the beach and the historic town! Enjoy your coffee on the balcony in the shade, load up and head down to the beach, have a drink at Beaches Restaurant on the intracoastal waterway or snuggle up in the comfy King size bed and enjoy a day of relaxation inside!

THE PROXIMITY: Central to downtown, uptown, Ponte Vedra and US Highway 1 which takes you to all parts of St. Augustine quickly for shopping, eating and seeing other areas of the city! The walkability of this home to shops, groceries, restaurants and the beach is excellent!

THE SPACE: The home itself sleeps 3 comfortably in 1 King bed and 1 futon that opens to a full size bed. The kitchen is equipped to service 4+ people to modestly prep and re-heat to eat together for a great night in! The TV's are all Smart TV 's, so simply login to your Netflix, Hulu or HBO account to enjoy your favorite movies and shows.

THE LAYOUT - Unit B upstairs has a solid 1/1 layout:
BEDROOMS: One bedroom has a King bed. A futon in the living room converts to a bed for the flexibility to bring along a 3rd person.
BATHROOM: 1 is located inside the bedroom as an en suite and features a walk in shower, *not* the tub pictured.

AMENITIES: Pergola patio with seating and lights. Private balcony with seating and grill. We provide starter coffee supplies.

LAUNDRY FACILITIES: On the exterior of the house at the base of the stairs that go up to Unit B's front door is a shed door with a stackable washer and dryer.

OPEN LIVING: The kitchen is situated adjacent to the living and dining area so everyone can be together whether lounging, dining or cooking! We outfit the kitchen with one roll of paper towels, a few starter trash bags and lots of dish soap for your first couple of days, plus coffee amenities!

PARKING: There is one parking space per unit on the property. Please use only one space and leave the other space open for the other unit's guests. Our parking area is fenced in on 3 sides and only big enough to allow 2 cars side by side. You will see stained glass and mosaic artwork of sea turtles and jellyfish hung up on the fence in our parking area. If you do not see those, you are in the wrong area. There is no other parking provided. Additional vehicles must be parked at the Publix.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN ST. AUGUSTINE: Just a 5 minute drive west to San Marco Ave and south is historic downtown St. Augustine! Take a tour, enjoy the rich Spanish history, the architecture, the food and craft cocktails and all that our pleasant waterfront town has to offer. BEACHSIDE FUN IN THE SUN: Our beaches are unparalleled! We really know how to enjoy what nature has blessed us with here in our quaint little St. Augustine Beach. This home is situated in prime Vilano Beach. You can also drive to one of the public beach accesses on St. Augustine Beach about 25 minutes away to park and walk on.

TURN IT UP: Want to live on the edge? There are a couple of rental shops nearby where you can rent surfboards, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, you name it! Deep sea fishing charters and boat rentals are also available in multiple places throughout town. Delivery bike rentals available via a local company. Contact me for recommendations.

*SECURITY DEPOSIT: In lieu of a traditional security deposit charge or authorization hold for a large sum, we will instead charge a one-time non-refundable incidentals fee to your stay of $49 This fee acts as insurance for minor damages and covers you up to a max of $500 of damage. You may elect to increase your incidentals fee for more coverage ($99 for $1000, $149 for $1500, $199 for $2000 and so on and so forth). *IMPORTANT: Guests must report to us any damage that has taken place during their stay before checkout, otherwise the incidental fee coverage is null and void. In this case, we reserve the right to charge the full amount of repairing or replacing the damaged items to you. Your insurance coverage amount ($500, $1000, $1500, etc) is not the max that you are responsible for. If damages exist beyond your coverage amount we will document this with photos and professional estimates of repair, and bill you for the repairs or replacements.

Guest Access:
The pictures show some dining and lounge furniture that is not in the unit at this time. We have other newer furniture in place and plan to update photos soon to show the newer furniture in the listing.

Entire space of the Upstairs Apartment/Unit B ONLY is included in this rental. Please, make yourself at home.

This home is situated on a busy main street. You will hear noise from the road during your stay.

The kitchen does not have a stove top or oven. This kitchen offers modest prep and re-heating cookware.

There is no dishwasher.

Laundry area is shared with Unit A.

The first floor of the home is not included with the rental of this home and is reserved for other vacation guests. Please know you may see other guests on site during your stay.

Guests in A downstairs may have their own dogs. Please keep your dog leashed at all times. We are not responsible for any issues that arise between guest pets.

You must be able to climb stairs to enter.

Limited parking. Please be sure to abide by parking rules notated in the above section.

The neighbors are all permanent residents who enjoy their quiet privacy. Please be extra considerate of them and keep all noise to a minimum starting at 10pm-8am, per county ordinance.

The Neighborhood:
One of the prime areas of Vilano Beach, you will find the area is bordered to the East by the Atlantic Ocean and to the West by the Tolomato River (or what we St. Augustinians call "The Intercoastal"). Located just a two minute drive from the home is a Publix grocery store with everything you could need! In that shopping center you can rent or buy equipment for any water sports activity. Just a four minute drive over the Vilano Bridge is Camanchee Cove, where you can rent a boat for the day or charter deep sea fishing tours, or enjoy dinner at the famous Kingfish Grill.

Getting Around:
We recommend renting a car for your stay. If you prefer to travel by bicycle or would just like to rent them for fun, check out Drifters for drop off/pick up bike rentals.

Please be aware that certain vendors, such as lawn care, pool and other routine maintenance providers, may visit the property on a weekly basis. Their visits are scheduled based on weather conditions and other factors, so they do not have a fixed schedule.

Please remember that you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site 24/7.

Guests must be 21 or older to book.

NOISE LEVELS: There are guests in the other unit in the building. We ask you to be considerate of the tenants in the other unit by keeping noise levels down and observing quiet time per St. Johns County ordinance from the hours of 10pm until 8am.

Pack N Play Available Upon Request with 48 hours notice.

Dog friendly, no limit on weight.

Our dog rent fee is $30.00/Dog/Night, $175.00/Dog/Week, with a maximum of $300.00/Dog/Month.
-This fee is added on to your total after booking confirmation.
-The fee doesn't cover damage caused by your pet. We will provide photos and a handyman quote to fairly assess repair charges.
-Pets must be fully housebroken, freshly bathed prior to arrival and treated with flea and tick meds within 30 days of check in.
-Please share with us any details regarding weight, age, if crated when left alone, if allowed on furniture. If you are bringing a dog, please reach out to us directly about our policy and fees!

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS: We charge a $50 minimum to ship forgotten items, which must be paid in advance. For heavier items, we ask that you pre-pay the $50 and we will acquire any additional shipping cost and bill this to you accordingly + 25% service fee.

Interaction with Guests:
I am here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. I'm only a phone call/message away. You will be able to self checkin upon arrival. Please, make yourself at home.

For your security and the security of the property, there are cameras located throughout the exterior only areas of the home. There are no interior cameras on the property.

The good and the ehhh

The good: Location fantastic - just a short walk to the beach. The bed was very comfortable, Publix is just a short walk, space was clean The ehh: Kitchen is very limited - hot plate was more like a warm plate, outdoor grill is just an electric George Forman grill, futon was very uncomfortable, parking is behind the Publix - a short walk, but not your own parking Overall, a cute small place good enough for two, but be prepared for cooking challenges and be creative…

Small Group Getaway

The bungalow was a good size for us. There were only 3 people in our group. I don’t think it would be comfortable for more. We were okay with the fact that there was no stove and oven. I just brought food from home already cooked and we reheated in the microwave when we didn’t eat out. The bungalow is really well stocked with kitchen dishes and utensils. The king size bed is really comfortable. Our son said the futon wasn’t very comfortable so we put a blanket on top before we put the sheet on. That seemed to work well. Bungalow was stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is a nice short walk to the beach. There is quite a bit of street traffic noise at night but it didn’t affect our sleeping. (It was Spring Break and there were sirens and motorcycles passing) Overall, it was a very nice beach vacation.

Marvelous Mermaid Bungalow

This was such a cute little place upstairs. Had many amenities you need, & short walk to the beautiful beach! The walk from the parking lot was so short,it was just like normal parking at any beach rental. A/Cworked great! Which is a NEED in Florida. Close to downtown also. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And will be coming back!
