Lake Bacalar

We had an amazing stay at the lake house. The photos do not do justice to the house or the location. It is magical.

This place was perfect for my birthday getaway with friends. The lake and dock were fantastic and really made us feel like we were on the edge of the world, we saw maybe 6 other people the whole time we were on the water. Rooms were clean and the AC units in the bedrooms worked great. It was a true jungle oasis. Felt very safe, especially with the 24 hr manned security gate. The chef recommended by Sally, Chef Martin and his team made the most delicious meals. Large portions and truly amazing food every single day, that was such a treat. Would love to come back!

I think this property would of been nice if they cleaned it better for bugs and spiders , everyone in our group went back with several bug bites . Bugs in our bed, on the walls, showers and in cabinets. The bedding needs to be replaced very old. I get we were in jungle and there are lots of critters but i didnt expect them inside (bugs) THE HOUSE or else I would have went camping.

Hi Daneen,I am very sorry to hear this. May and June are peak months for wildlife and bugs in the jungle, so our management follows a strict preventative spraying schedule. While it’s impossible to eliminate all insects during this active season, it does bring an abundance of beautiful birds.Regarding the bedding, I replace sheets annually, and our cleaners thoroughly check them between guests. However, I will personally double-check this to ensure everything is up to standard. I hope you still managed to enjoy the lake and gorgeous views!

25th Anniversary

Great place but several maintenance issues on first day from no shower pressure or hot water in two bathrooms to ceiling fans not working in the un-air-conditioned central room.

Beautiful spot

We spent one week in this beautiful spot. Our group varied on age from 9 to 85 and everyone had fun. Staff (Bartolo and Rocio) we’re very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect if you want to avoid crowds and enjoy nature (You will need a car if you plan on visiting the town). The house is right in the jungle so we were able to see monkeys hanging from the trees and lots of different birds. All the bedrooms had a beautiful view of the jungle or the lake. The house had everything we needed to have fun and stay safe in the water like life jackets, kayaks and paddle boards. The lake has warm clear water that makes it easy to spend the day.

Unique Gem

We spent two wonderful nights at this unique hidden gem. Sally was very helpful and answered all our questions in a timely period. The house is ideal for large family or friends with plenty of space. We did the chef for breakfast and lunch excellent food experience. This was at a reasonable cost. Would recommend that you explore this experience. especially if you arrive late at night as the town Bacalar is a good distance away. We didn’t manage to find a good local grocery for the essentials that we would have liked. The weather is good with a light breeze. Would highly recommend that you do a boat tour of the lake and include the rapids. We did an afternoon that included sunset a Memorable trip. Thank you for everything we look forward to returning soon. Mason Family April 2022
