Great place second time we’ve rented here so obviously we like it. Very comfortable for a family of four or five. Six might be a little tight. Tough to find places right on the water in this area. Neighbours are quiet which is nice.

Perfect choice for a family reunion with children

The location was excellent and the swimming was perfect for young children. One of our best holidays ever.

Amazing property. Very well stocked kitchen and high quality appliances, cutlery. Fabulous view of bay. Walking distance to two beaches. Comfortable beds. Cottage much larger on the inside than it appears from the outside. Great communications with the host. Highly recommend.

Great place with beautiful sunsets

We had an amazing time during our stay. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed. Our host Sue was great and gave us all the information we needed to have a great stay. We will definitely go back again.

The Loons

Owner was very helpful and accommodating. All of the amenities and appliances were in great condition.. Short stay but wonderful time..

Wonderful

Lovely cottage - fully equipped and then some . Excellent for families as kids have their own part of the cottage . Excellent, attentive hosts . Very quiet and private setting, but great access to local attractions . Highly recommended!!

Beautiful property and comfortable accommodations

We stayed at the Loons for a long weekend in May and found the accommodations to be excellent. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and well stocked with everything you’d need to from housewares to linens. We appreciated the kid-friendly baby gates on the stairs and the step stools as well. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Our group had a wonderful time at "The Loons". This cottage was very clean and comfortable.. Every room was fully equipped with our needs. The view of Georgian Bay is fantastic and we loved the private beach. The location is perfect - short drives to Thornbury, Meaford and Town of Blue Mountains, all having lots of shops and great restaurants. Sue is an excellent host. She was very easy to communicate with and she was very kind and helpful. Excellent vacation!

Relax and Enjoy!!

This is an awesome property, the kitchen is loaded with everything you need to cook your own meals, make your coffee, store your food. The sunrises are amazing, lots of spots to sit outside and inside to relax, nice fireplace for the cool evenings, loads of windows. Spacious comfortable home, a short walk to the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

The Loons was perfect from beginning to end.The kitchen had everything we needed. It was easy to access and close to all amenities. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. The sunsets were breathtaking. Our hosts thought of everything and we felt right at home. It was clean and so comfortable. So thankful that our dog was also welcomed. Loved having Georgian Bay in the backyard.

Like a Home away from Home

excellent host ! clean and well stocked kitchen equipment, not lacking anything a Mama Bear needs. Nice being near the water front. Great that this cottage has 2 full bath, and a 2 piece bathroom. Deck is spacious and fit our family unit nicely. Would come back again.

Our Weekend at the Loons

The property was perfect for us! We have two mini bernadoodles who loved exploring the shoreline and hanging out on the back deck outside. There is a beach a ten minute walk away and it is so close to Meaford if you need to run out and grab something. Sue and Richard were great with communication also!

Family Vacation at The Loons

Great location minus the rocky water and no sandy beach. Sandy beach not far walk, but have to pay for parking and no washrooms were open. Amazing view at cottage, but would be better without big trees blocking view while seated on deck. Also, would be nice if there was a bathroom upstairs. Overall, really enjoyed stay and cottage,

Lovely, peaceful cottage right in Georgian Bay

My family had a wonderful time at the Loons. Everything was clean and comfortable and we loved the spectacular sunsets on the rocky little beach. The kids were amazed to discover many prehistoric trilobite fossils in the shale by the water. Sue’s communication was great; responsive and helpful. All in all, it was a wonderful location for quiet relaxation and we also had a great time paddling down Beaver River, about 15 minutes away - just spray liberally to keep the deer flies at bay. Thankful for thanksgiving at the Loons!

The Loons was a perfect place for our family to spend Thanksgiving. It was so comfortable and I was very pleased with how clean it was. The kitchen was very well equipped; it has everything one could need and more. The location is very good with Thornbury so close. It has a brand new grocery store and LCBO as well as shops and galleries. The Georgian walking trail is within walking distance and was enjoyed by my whole family, including the dog, while taking in the fall colours. The owner Sue was a delight to deal with. She was pleasant and friendly and was very quick with a reply to any of our questions both before and during our stay. We will be visiting the Loons again for sure.

Great host - very communicative and gave us direction for everything necessary with the cottage from check-in to departure. Good location just a few minutes from the main road and a 5 minute walk to Sandy Christie Beach. Very nice views and access to the rock beach from the cottage. We stayed as a three generation family of 7, ranging from 70s to toddler. The cottage was safe, comfortable, and accessible for all. We would highly recommend the Loons for a stay in this area.

Wonderful Getaway

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at The Loons at Christie Beach. The location was perfect - right on the water, close to shopping, dining and endless outdoor activities. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious and had what we needed (although we didn't really 'cook'), the living space was ample and comfortable. Would definitely go back.

End of Summer Retreat

We had a lovely 4 days. The view was lovely.Georgian Bay showed it's many moods...from calm and peaceful to stormy and rough.The house was very comfortable and clean. It was very well stocked.The kitchen had so many accessories..We love to cook, so that was great. We would definitely stay again. S
