Hale Wailani is an elegant home built with handcrafted quality and style, brilliantly designed for maximum outdoor living and gorgeous views of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, the Kohala Mountains and Waialea Bay from nearly everywhere in the house. With 3,700-square-feet over two stories (plus an additional 2,000-square-feet of covered lanai), this spacious house has four bedrooms, three baths, and two living rooms.

The home is made to enjoy with or without the family. There is a keiki play area including a small table and chairs. Basket of toys, pack and play with mattress and sheets as well as a high chair.

The home is listed as having air conditioning, as each bedroom has AC. There is NOT AC in the other living areas.

Great property

Great access to beach. Good snorkeling. Pool was great. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the outdoor eating spaces. Location to other beaches and activities was excellent.

Family Vacation

The house was well-stocked and roomy. We very much enjoyed the pool and lanai. The views were breathtaking. We also appreciated the use of pool toys. I would definitely recommend this property for families

Perfect vacation house

Our family of 10 enjoyed a week at Puako and were so sad to leave. The house had everything we needed, as well as a pool that the kids loved and a small beach with great snorkeling. Larger beaches were within a short driving distance. The house is comfortable but not fussy and Mary the property manager was so great with communication. We hope to be back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our favorite escape from Portland. It was the first time we had gone in the summer and it was at least as beautiful as Jan.-Feb. The place is superb, great design, great views. Mary at 2 Papayas and her staff are the best. We can't recommend this place any higher!

Perfect!

We were two families traveling together - 4 adults and 5 children, ages 12-16. This house was absolutely perfect. The pictures don't do it justice as it is quite a bit larger than it appears. The outdoor space is plentiful and there are so many different areas to hang out. It rained a few days and because so much is covered, we still enjoyed the outdoors. The rooms are all sizable and the two main living areas are quite large. The location was also great, just steps to a nice beach (where you can watch the sunset) and only a short drive to the resort areas for groceries, restaurants and shopping. You can't go wrong with this house and 2 Papayas does a lovely job managing it.

A Great Family Destination

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay in Hale Wailani was very nice. We loved the pool and the easy access to one of the best swimming coves on Hawaii. The snorkeling was very good too. Good for multi-generational groups. The house was equipped with just about anything you could want and Mary was great support. Please be aware that the kitchen and living rooms are not air conditioned and can get hot in the afternoon. The heated pool was a lovely way to cool off. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, especially the dark skies at night. We saw many shooting stars in August.

Absolutely Stunning!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I (party of 7 adults) stayed at Hale Wailani for a total of 8 nights in June 2023. We could not have been happier with this amazing rental! It was just perfect for us. The home itself is incredibly well appointed with everything you could think of, including the sweetest welcome basket with local products (Kona coffee of course) and some lovely papayas. It was so thoughtful and had a great little note to greet us and start our stay. The beds were super comfortable, linens and all the surfaces sparkling clean, the kitchen had all the essentials and more including a Brita filter for daily hydration, filling all our Hydros and taking care of the earth with way less plastic. Loved that! There was ice and extra's throughout the entire home. The backyard....seriously....the pool and patio area...dreamy. Coffee in the morning...staring at the ocean! I can't wait to go back! And the walk to the beach! So quick and such a great little path. The beach had a fantastic view of the sunset every night and the snorkeling during the day was some of our best memories and favorite snorkeling of all time. We were able to see 4 different octopus! Unbelievable. Communicating with Mary was lovely, every conversation from her checking on us to make sure everything was as it should be to answering any of our questions. Mary is a gem and I would work with her anytime. Over-all, I would highly recommend and encourage anyone to rent this amazing place.

Wonderful time in paradise

A very comfortable house nicely organized with all the amenities we could need. There was even a special play area for kids. We played every day in the pool and walked the short distance to the special beach. Great communication and support from Mary!

Spectacular house with caring host

The house was perfect in every way. Beautiful pool & lanai, wonderful views, short walk to a lovely beach. The house had everything you could ask for and the manager was extremely responsive and helpful.

Love the water!

We had 10 people staying here, ranging in age from 2 to 74, and it was great....plenty of room. If you love to swim and/or snorkel, this property will fill the bill. We had lots of fun in the pool as a family, especially with our night swims before bed. The beach we walked to is only a 3 or 4 minute walk, has shade, turtles, and great snorkeling. This beach is not good for boogie boarding due to the rocks (the rocks help with the snorkeling, though), however there is a good boogie boarding beach just a few minutes away in the car. The manager was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend this house.

We live full time in Northern California, and began to visit the Big Island in 2015. It's an easy flight from SFO and it's a spot our kids love to come to.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

We were drawn to this property for its quiet location just steps from the beach. We had rented houses nearby and loved being able to walk back and forth to the beach as need be. It is so relaxing not to have to get into the car very often.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

It has an easy, relatively sandy entry into the water. The snorkeling and paddle boarding is great when it's calm; my kids tell me the surfing is great when it's not. Sitting on the beach with a cup or coffee in the morning or a drink at sunset is magical.
