We are Blue Tin Ranch, a hunting lodge in South East South Dakota. Located 10 minutes from I-29, 10 minutes from Vermillion, we enjoy the spectacular views of the Missouri River Valley.
You are booking our guest house, a quiet space for you and your family to relax, unwind and enjoy the countryside after a successful hunt. You will love the outdoor spaces including; the gazebo with a winding path, corn crib swings, back yard area and so much more. Great fishing on the Missouri River just 3 miles away. This is a great getaway spot in southeast South Dakota. The house is clean and very comfortable. The free provided breakfast was so kind and hit the spot. The view all around the property is beautiful and there are fun and relaxing things to do. Like sit in the corn bin swings. Shoot baskets on the old farm equipment and watch the sunsetFromThe gazebo or climb the porch on one of the corn cribs. Noreen the host is very delightful. 10 out of 10 would recommend! And we will stay again for sure.

We were uncomfortable with the beds to all the furniture. There was not a comfortable place in the cottage. It was a huge disappointment. We rented the place for 3 nights. My husband and I stayed one night. My brother, his wife and granddaughter stayed two nights.

We were disappointed to receive a one star rating based entirely on personal preferences regarding the furniture, especially given the efforts we made to provide alternatives during your stay. We also went out of our way to accommodate three dogs. Unfortunately, we observed pet waste being left on the property rather than being picked up, as requested in our house guidelines. We also observed coffee being poured directly into one of our flower beds. We take considerable pride in maintaining our grounds and providing a clean, welcoming property, so those actions were disappointing. We respect that the accommodations may not have been the right fit for you, but we also believe reviews should reflect the overall experience and the efforts made to address concerns during a stay. We appreciate the feedback and will make every effort to continue our dedication to guest experience.

Lovely owners and very cute location

Upon arrival the owner was out greeting us. She and her family were so personable and kind making the stay more memorable. The guest house was darling and had personal touches that didn’t go unnoticed. While the kids were not satisfied with the wifi, I was! Thank you for a wonderful stay and an incredible sunset!

Lots of bugs, no refunds

Booked this for six nights but only stayed for one night due to finding bugs in every room. Spiders in the corners of both bedrooms, in the bathroom, and inside the foldout sofa bed. Ants in one of the beds, and an active ant trap by the front door. When we found a roach in the kitchen we decided to leave. We asked the property manager for a partial refund but were denied.Would not recommend.

Christmas at Blue Tin Ranch

Our stay was perfect! We celebrated Christmas there because my son and daughter-in-law from Sioux City are expecting. The house was decorated so cute! All the extra touches were appreciated and the host went above and beyond. Merry Christmas!

Beautiful place

Quiet and peaceful location with amazing grounds. The cottage is big! Plenty of space for my wife and I and our two labs. Highly recommend.

Delightful Stay

We had the pleasure of staying in the country on a recent trip. I cannot say enough good about this property and the owners. Clean, cute, so many amenities. Kind and thoughtful owners. Five star in every category.

This place was outstanding. Relaxing and beautiful!

Perfect spot for my family and I. The host was so nice and helpful. The pictures are great but it is even better in person. Will be back if I am ever in the area!

Unique Stay

Blue Tin Ranch was a neat place off the beaten path. The host was very responsive and my family had a blast exploring the grounds and enjoying the country setting.

Quiet place in the country

My family and I had an awesome time staying here. There was enough room for my little kids to play and get energy out and my teens loved exploring all the buildings and they found a place they could just hang out. It was nice to not hear ‘I’m bored’ out of any of them! All four of the kids had a great time as well.

Very nice place to stay. Quiet and close to the University.

Very easy to rent. Host is very responsive and easy to work with. I would book again.

She currently sits on the board of the South East South Dakota Tourism Association. Noreen can recommend many fun things around the area.

After graduating from South Dakota State University in 2018 Kelley moved home to help with the family farm!

Kelley is a 4th generation farmer on this land and is proud to now share it with you and your family! In 1992, Kelley's grandpa sold the land to Noreen for $1. From there the farm has only grown.
