We respectfully request removal of this one-star review because the guest spent less than five minutes at the property and did not stay overnight. Therefore, she did not meaningfully experience the accommodations, amenities, cleanliness, location, or hosting services. The guest became uncomfortable after seeing an additional reinforced door lock and assumed it meant the neighborhood was unsafe. However, the lock is simply an added safety feature intended to give guests extra security and peace of mind. Our home is located in a safe, newer neighborhood, and many guests from our more than 100 previous stays have appreciated the additional lock. The guest chose not to stay and requested a refund. Because there was no issue with the home and the cancellation was based solely on her concern about the lock, the refund was not approved under the applicable policy. She then left a one-star rating despite not experiencing the property. We respect that the lock made her uncomfortable, but the review is based on an assumption rather than an actual stay. It may misrepresent the property and may not comply with guidelines requiring reviews to reflect a guest’s relevant, firsthand experience. Based on this experience, we would not recommend this guest to other hosts.
