This is a revenge review. Almost all sentences in the review are lies, see below. If you are a host, do not host this guest and save yourself trouble. If you are a guest, I invite you to look at our other reviews and decide for yourself what to take away from this. (1) Half truth. Yes, the guest stayed with us. Yes there were minor issues. The biggest issue was the hot tub not working. The hot tub seems to have broken during the guest's stay. (2) We charge for early check in. The guest tried to bully us into letting them early for free. We explained that we charge for that service, and guest didn't like this. This set the tone for their attitude towards us. (3) Half-truth. There were minor issues, but the guest only let us know at the point where they thought it would give them an upper hand in what is now obviously a dispute. (4) True, but the conclusion the guest draws is malicious and not realistic. The hot tub did break. We are in the mountains and it is impossible to get things repaired on short notice. (5) Lie. I spent hours on the phone trying to find someone to repair and communicated with the guest. It was a labor day weekend, people were out. The guest was compensated fairly for that issue. That was the only thing we could do at the time. (6) Lie. All our rules are listed, and the property manual is also linked from the listing. (7) Lie. We have photo proof of all the damages. Happy to provide a link to the photos if you are looking to rent and this is something that gives you pause, and you can decide for yourself. I waived the smaller fees to make the reconciliation simpler. The guest also broke the lease by bringing two dogs without paying the pet fee. Another lie: there was no name calling, and especially no threats. I have been assertive in dealing with the guest once they decided to drop the pretense of civility and go for the jugular. But I remained respectful throughout. (8) Giving the benefit of the doubt here as I have no way to know. (9) Lie. (10) Lie. We never raised any issues around anything that was part of the cleanup. We didn't ask for a cent extra. (11) Lie. The clutter was taken from another guest's review, it's a long resolved issue. (12) Do check out our reviews. We have been positively reviewed by dozens of guests. (13) Unfortunately we can't be everything for everyone. (14) Lie. We are not scammers, we provide a home away from home experience. We do not, however, roll over to bullies.
