Situated on Rue Damiette, one of Rouen’s most iconic and lively streets, Terra Bella immediately immerses you in the unique atmosphere of the historic centre, with its half-timbered façades, cobbled alleyways, restaurants, cafés, antique shops and charming boutiques.

Nestled within a gated and secure residential complex, the flat is situated on the 3rd floor, under the eaves. From the moment you enter, its unusual layout gives it its unique charm: after stepping through the door, a few steps lead you to the main floor, where all the living spaces are laid out on a single level.

The light-filled living area is the heart of the flat. From the lounge, you’ll enjoy a view of Saint-Maclou Church, a jewel of Rouen’s heritage, which lends the place an authentic and special atmosphere. The comfortable and welcoming lounge features a television and is the perfect spot to unwind after a day spent strolling through the historic streets.

The modern, fully equipped open-plan kitchen has been designed to make you feel right at home. You’ll find a Nespresso coffee machine, an oven, a fridge, crockery and all the utensils you need to prepare your meals with ease. The cosy dining area is perfect for sharing breakfast, dinner or a moment’s respite in a gentle, sunny atmosphere.

A small corridor leads to a separate toilet and the bedroom. A true haven of rest, the bedroom features a comfortable double bed and invites you to unwind in a calm, warm and soothing setting. Adjacent to it, an elegant open-plan bathroom completes the sleeping area, featuring a spacious shower and a washbasin, all in a contemporary style.

From the flat, you can walk to Rouen’s must-see attractions in just a few minutes: Saint-Maclou Church, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Place du Vieux-Marché, the banks of the Seine, as well as numerous culinary and cultural highlights. Here, everything is easily explored on foot, at the leisurely pace of Rouen’s narrow streets and charm.


Bed linen and towels are provided for your comfort. The accommodation does not have private parking, but you can park at the Hôtel de Ville car park, located nearby. The accommodation is managed by Conciergerie L’ArchiDuchesse, which can be contacted 7 days a week from 10.00 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 21.00. To finalise your booking and obtain the access codes for the accommodation, you will be asked to provide a credit card authorisation via a secure link. If you’d like to extend your stay, a one-off fee of €10 applies for early arrival or late departure, subject to availability and prior approval from our team.

## Neighbourhood

Staying just a stone’s throw from Saint-Maclou Church means immersing yourself in the very heart of Rouen. A true gem of Normandy’s heritage, this iconic neighbourhood transports you through the centuries, amongst cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and façades steeped in history.

First thing in the morning, let yourself be carried away by the peaceful atmosphere of the narrow medieval streets. Enjoy a coffee on a terrace on Rue Damiette, and wander amongst the art galleries, independent shops and antique dealers that give this authentic and lively neighbourhood its charm.

Just a few metres away, Saint-Maclou Church reveals its impressive Flamboyant Gothic architecture, considered one of Rouen’s finest monuments. As you continue your stroll, within a few minutes you’ll reach the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral, immortalised by Claude Monet, as well as the Place du Vieux-Marché, a key site in the history of Joan of Arc.

The Saint-Maclou district is also a feast for the palate. Traditional restaurants, wine cellars, tea rooms and lively terraces line the narrow streets, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere day and night. Whether you’re a fan of Normandy’s cuisine, international dishes or simply looking for a pleasant terrace, you’ll always find somewhere to linger.

Just a few minutes’ walk away, the banks of the Seine offer a more peaceful retreat for a stroll at sunset, whilst museums, markets and cultural events bring the historic centre to life all year round.

## Transport

As well as being centrally located, the neighbourhood is well served by public transport, whether by bus or the Rouen metro.

Rouen Rive Droite station is about a 15-minute walk or a few minutes by bus. Regular trains run to Paris Saint-Lazare in around 1 hour 15 minutes, as well as to Le Havre, Deauville and Caen.

The ‘Palais de Justice’ station, about a 10-minute walk away, provides access to the metro line running from north to south through the city, passing through Boulingrin, Saint-Sever, Le Grand-Quevilly, Petit-Quevilly, Sotteville-lès-Rouen and the Madrillet Technology Park.

Numerous bus routes also run through the city centre or pass close to the Saint-Maclou district. The ‘République’ stop is served by several routes, notably routes 11, F1 and F7, which provide easy access to various neighbourhoods in the Rouen metropolitan area.

The ‘Cathédrale’ station is served by several TEOR routes, notably T1, T2 and T3. These routes run through the city centre from west to east and operate frequently thanks to dedicated lanes.

Although the historic centre is largely pedestrianised, there are several secure car parks nearby, including the Cathédrale car park and the Hôtel de Ville car park. To avoid traffic in the city centre, free park-and-ride facilities are also available at the entrances to Rouen, with direct connections to the metro and TEOR lines.

## Notes

Please note that the accommodation is situated on the 3rd floor of an old building without a lift and involves a few steps inside to access the living areas. Its unique character is part of the property’s charm, but it may not be suitable for people with reduced mobility. All the rooms in the flat are then on the same level.

Check-in is via the ArchiDuchesse key holder between 4.00 pm and 8.00 pm, and check-out must be completed by 11.00 am at the latest.

The accommodation is managed by the L’ArchiDuchesse Concierge Service, available 7 days a week from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 9.00 pm. All our guests are provided with bed linen, essential toiletries for the first day, as well as one large towel per person, tea towels and a bath mat. A welcome kit containing a kitchen bin bag, a bathroom bin bag, a sponge and washing-up liquid is also provided on arrival.

We are committed to providing a pleasant experience, but please note that we are not a hotel service. Any cleaning during your stay, changing of bed linen or towels, restocking of essentials or deliveries can be arranged on request, subject to an additional charge.

Parties are strictly prohibited; a deduction of €250 will be made from your deposit in the event of non-compliance.
The property is entirely non-smoking; a €50 deduction will be made from the deposit in the event of a breach. Pets are not permitted unless prior request and agreement have been obtained from us; a €50 deduction will be made from the deposit in the event of non-compliance. Any loss, theft or damage will be charged at the actual replacement value.
