Capitan Mountain Cabin

Capitan Mountain Cabin is a Cosy-Quaint/Farmhouse style cabin. Mountain views of the Capitan Mountains and the Sacramento mountains.The property is on top of a small mountain-5 Acres. Views of the Sierra Blanca Ski Mountains too!
Peaceful/Serene/Nature everywhere. Close to Ruidoso-the resort town. 30 minute drive.
Alto/Rainmaker and Outlaw Country clubs are a 20 minute drive.
Capitan is Home to Smokey the Bear! He was found here in the Capitan mountains abondoned after his mother was killed in the fire. The Smokey Bear Museum is here in town to tour.
Also Smokey Bear Cafe is delicious-Down home cooking.
Smokey's Grocery store is our hometown grocery store.
8 minutes drive from Capitan Mountain Cabin.
Beautiful New Mexico Country. Deer- Elk-Horned Sheep-and maybe Wild horses are running through out the property.
Gorgeous Clear skies-Fallng stars-you can see the Milky way and planets!
We are a short drive to downtown Village if Capitan. 8 minutes.

I had a lovely 5-day stay at the cabin. The property was beautiful and the cabin is in pristine shape. I really appreciated the attention to detail and small welcoming touches. It was the quiet retreat I needed. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Perfect cabin for a getaway. Beautiful views from every side and comfortable chairs on the porch. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals and they even left us some fresh eggs. The location is just the right distance from Ruidoso and Roswell so you can drive into town to spend the day and return in the evening to your own quiet cabin. The Smokey Bear Grocery was well stocked and there were several nice restaurants if you didn’t want to cook. We will definitely plan another stay soon.

I really wanted a place out of town… and I got it! The hosts are lovely, gave me some contact tips for things I needed to do. The lodging was comfortable, and the main area had more space than the photos show. The stars at nite shine like diamonds. Elk bugled, deer grazed….

Cozy and cute cabin with all your needs supplied in a wonderful New Mexico setting! The hosts are very communicative and gracious. Lots of nature sounds and no human sounds!

Quiet Getaway

Quiet cabin with a friendly host. Close to hiking, shopping and eating in Ruidoso with peaceful mornings and evenings in Capitan. We enjoyed our stay.

Great little cabin in NM

Jill and her husband were delightful and their property is gorgeous. Close to town and easy to get to. We loved our time there and will definitely re visit.

Quaint farmhouse, clean and quiet, with everything one needs available. Centrally located for history buffs - with Smokey Bear monument in Capitan, the town of Lincoln, which is one big museum, Fort Stanton, and Ruidoso close by.

When we first drove on to the property, it was absolutely amazing beautiful so pine clean, beautiful well kept the views amazing! Reached out to Jill. She told us how to get into the property. We were amazed, and she even brought over fresh eggs from her chickens from her girls, they were delicious. The place was so clean smelt very nice. I would recommend it to others to rent for a night or two the morning sunrise is absolutely amazing just beautiful. We saw a family of deer go through the property. Thank you Jill for such a wonderful peaceful time that we were able to enjoy while I was able to spend time with my God Daughter at the Lincoln Couny Great Stampede Rodeo.The Host Jill so very communicative which helped going and coming..

Peaceful Stay

I had an absolutely amazing stay at this cabin! The cabin was clean, cozy, and beautifully furnished. The location provided a peaceful escape from the city to help me unwind a bit. The host (Jill) was incredibly hospitable, making sure our stay was comfortable. I look forward to another stay here! Thanks Jill!

Amazing

If you want the perfect private get away, 10/10 recommend staying here. Very quiet, peaceful, and a gorgeous view. Not to mention, the house feels like home away from home. It’s very welcoming, as well as the owners! Gorgeous little place. We enjoyed very much. Perfect distance from all of the fun!!

A Gem with Views of Capitan Gap

The cabin was absolutely charming, clean, and warm. I felt right at home. Everything was clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed including coffee in the morning. The porch was one of my favorite places to sit at night and the view of Capitan Gap Mountain. I can't wait to go back! So relaxing!

Sweet casita!

This was a very relaxing place to unwind. Small but very clean. Everything we needed was there. Fenced in area for our dog, nice porch with great views of the mountains. Quiet but close to town where there’s a well-stocked market, a couple of restaurants (Oso Grill has the best green Chile cheeseburgers and homemade ice cream). Short scenic drive to Ruidoso. Must visit Smoky Bear Historical Park and the historic town of Lincoln.

It was a beautiful cabin room to roam around outside.I loved the porch area for drinking coffee in the mornings and the host jill was excellent

Me and my wife had a great stay at the property. Peaceful. Great mountain views. Very clean room with all essentails. Jill provided us farm raised eggs. checkin and checkout was smooth.
