Gather together with family and friends in quiet country atmosphere. Experience the peace and serenity of days-gone-by when you stay in this spacious, completely renovated four-square farmhouse located in a quiet dairy farming neighborhood, five miles east of Cumberland and ten miles west of Rice Lake. This home is perfect for family gatherings, crafting get-togethers or relaxing vacations. Enjoy watching the bird activity in the massive oak trees as you sip your morning coffee on the beautiful front porch. Both children and adults will enjoy outdoor activities in the expansive back yard, surrounded by crops in the field and cows in the pasture. In the winter try cross-country skiing or snowshoeing through the fields and woods.

You will enjoy preparing meals in the spacious modern country kitchen with large center island. Relax in the large open living room with its media center, then sleep peacefully retiring to the large bedrooms and comfortable queen beds.

Beautiful clear water lakes are plentiful just minutes from the farm for boating, fishing, and swimming. Explore unique shopping & entertainment experiences in picturesque Cumberland, Rice Lake and other nearby towns. Just a short drive will take you to tourist attractions in Hayward, or to St. Croix Casino in Turtle Lake. Whether you are looking for excitement or relaxation it is all yours when you stay at the Farmhouse Retreat.

This immaculately kept farmhouse offers a quiet and relaxing experience while situated in a beautiful rural setting. It is spacious with 4 large bedrooms, and a fully equipped kitchenkitchen. The farmhouse pays homage to the generations that lived there. I would highly recommend staying there.

We have never stayed on a farm before. It was great! It's the cleanest place we have EVER stayed. Everything was there that we needed and more. We loved seeing the history of Cumberland is the books there and also seeing the history of the family. Everyone should come here! So quiet, decorated beautifully, everything you need, and loved getting away for a couple of days.

Great place to go when needing to "run away from life" to relax. Hostess was very pleasant and helpful. House was very well supplied with anything you might need or want, loved the kitchen. Would definitely stay again if needing a place in the area.

This was our third year staying at your property for our sibling week. We have it booked for number four which should say it all. Clean and spacious country setting. Kitchen had everything you need. Cute country house!

You’re in farm country with cows next door! Very peaceful and uber clean house. Lots of space and central AC. Would have been nice to know that we needed to bring our own coffee (coffee maker and Keurig machine provided). Nice property!

Good not great

It's a perfectly fine place, appreciate it being available since there aren't many rentals in the area. Pretty close to town, mostly peaceful at night despite highway noise, decorated with family heirlooms. Ample space, has all the basics you'd expect, just probably wouldn't choose to stay there again.

Rest and relaxation in the country

My family stayed at this lovely property while attending a family reunion. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay - plenty of space, comfy beds, and full baths with fluffy towels. The house is decorated with mementos and photos that tell the history of the farm. We spent mornings and evenings on the front porch watching the birds and enjoying the beautiful trees. The house is also conveniently located to some great local restaurants. Our hosts were gracious and helpful, and they made the entire process easy.

It was very spacious and well stocked in kitchen. Easy check out rules and was very clean. Only thing I call out is a stale smell not sure if lack of use or maybe a bit of moisturizer. Nothing that would derer

This place w a s a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Cows across the road for an interesting view. There were lots of bird feeders to watch the birds. The yard has big old trees that are gorgeous. The livingroom has lots of very comfy furniture and the beds are comfy, too.There are good hiking options in the area, as well.

Fabulous location, beautiful house and wonderful host!

We rented this for our in-laws to stay at for our daughters wedding. The house is beyond beautiful! It is so warm and welcoming. The views from all the rooms make you relax instantly. We will definitely rent this again when we are in town.

Farmhouse Retreat

We enjoyed this beautiful farm house. Clean, well kept property. It felt just like walking into your home, warm and cozy. The kitchen had everything I could think of in order to cook meals. Quite surrounding and a occasional thump of a falling acorn. We could see all the stars at night. Contact with the property manager was timely and friendly. They were accommodating to us as the day of check-out our car battery died. We'll definitely stay here again

This farm has been in my family since 1891 when my grandparents purchased the land from the Knapp-Stout Lumber Company. They cleared the land, built the farm, raised their family, and it has been the center of family activity since those days. In 2008 my husband and I completely renovated the house, inside and out, and it has since continued to provide the perfect gathering place for family and friends. We now would like to share this special place with you with the hope that you will enjoy your time in this special place as much as our family.
