A fairytale come true!

We were an extended family visiting Spoleto for 5 days. From the moment we made our reservation Michael was extremely helpful and knowledgable about the area. We arrived late in the day on Saturday and were welcomed as friends. The property, home, and views were amazing. Everyday we awoke we thought we were in a dream. We were comfortable, had plenty of room, and enjoyed every moment. We would not hesitate to return! I agree with previous reviews. The steps to the home are steep and would not recommend it for people with difficulty walking. This may be the only drawback for a few people. Regardless, this home is in great proximity to many Umbrian towns, good food, and wonderful adventures, but you can experience the countryside by staying here. La Dolce Vita best describes our stay at fairytale house. We can not wait to return

Stunning views of Umbrian village and olive groves

This Villa is a beautifully restored house, divided into two seperate units, located on the top of a hill, amidst a olive grove. We rented the top unit which has three bedrooms, a large and elegant living room and a stunning formal dining room. There are two sitting areas, a small one in the front with a large forno oven overlooking the olive grove and a terrace at the back with breathtaking views of the small village below us and an ancient ruin. The house and grounds, including the pool are well maintained and were very clean upon our arrival. For those who love to walk and enjoy nature, this villa is on the Assisi pilgrim trail and there are fabulous walks right from the villa. Getting up early and walking for a couple of hours in the Umbrian hills and watching the local farmers tend their olive groves and work their land was a highlight of our trip. We rented this villa for 6 weeks and enjoyed the proximity to some major sites, Assisi, Spoleto, Montefalco (great for wine tasting), Orvieto, Sibilini National Park, Norcia, and especially Casteluccio. The owner was very helpful throughut the planning of the trip and while we were in the villa. Only one caution, there are many steps in this villa because of its unique and beautiful location on a hill in an olive grove. The hike down to the villa and then down to the pool has many irregular steps. We enjoyed the exercise, but anyone who has knee problems or mobility problems might have trouble with the stairs. Also, you need to have a car for this villa. The road up to the villa is travel and is very rough.

Marvelous

We stayed here in late summer, with another family, thus 4 young children in all. The house was perfectly clean and well-appointed with many helpful amenities, and if anything the pictures do not do it justice--it's just really beautiful. The kids loved the pool, and we loved being close to interesting sights (eg Spoleto, Assisi). We had the housekeeper make us a luncheon one day--what an amazing feast! We had no need to get food the next day; we enjoyed leftovers for the rest of the week. Things you might want to be aware of: There are many stairs in and around this house. The way to the pool especially is quite a little hike. If you have anyone in your group that is physically limited, this may not be the best choice for you. The access road is steep and unpaved and presented quite a challenge to our little rented Fiat.

The property title lived up to expectations

This lovely old farmhouse worked perfectly for us - family joining us for different weeks throughout a months stay.Reaching a climax with 8adults and 2 babies overlapping for 5days - the facilities were perfect.My wife and I wondered if a month in one place would be too long, what a mistake. Our stay was everything we hoped for. The quiet of a lovely old farmhouse tucked away on a hillside amongst the olive trees, only disturbed by roosters marking their patches early in the morning.And yet, only 5mins from the attractions in the spectacular old Roman town of Spoleto.Who could ever get tired of that. Thanks Michael, we truly had a great vacation.

Great Get-Away

This gracious old Umbrian farmhouse is all that the description claims it to be: stunning views, lovely interior, acres of olive trees, clean and fresh swimming pool, well equipped kitchens, and easy access to all sorts of great places. The owner was helpful before and during our visit. We shared the place with friends. Much of the time there were 12 of us, ranging in age from 68 to 2. We were able to be together – or not – as we chose. The location offers fabulous walks, Lombard ruins to explore, and easy access to Spoleto by bus. The neighboring towns were a delight. Be prepared to climb some stairs, inside and outside. But then, you’ve earned your right to an extra helping of gnocchi.
