Clean and close to State Park

We had a great time staying here. Very clean and only a few minutes away from Itasca state park. We'll definitely come back and stay again.

Family Get Away

My family and I enjoyed our stay and loved how close it was to the park and long lake! It was clean and the property manager was readily available to answer any and all questions! We will hopefully be able to book our stay here again for next year!

Little Motel

This was the perfect location for our stay in upper Minnesota. The little motel is clean and modern with a log cabin feel. This is our second stay here and we tried a different room, which was also lovely. We would definitely stay again@

Nice property

Rented a room at Big Timbers to attend a wedding in Itasca State park. Loved the proximity to the park and the room was lovely. Clean, updated, quiet and an ice cream shop next door. Would stay again.

Big Timbers lodging

We stayed two nights to enjoy Itasca State Park. We were fortunate to meet property owner Christine , very personable. Everything met our expectations and wouldn’t hesitate to book again in the future

Beautiful place right outside Itasca State Park

My husband, daughter and grandson spent two nights at Tall Timber will we explored the area. The lodging is lovely and clean and everything we needed for our stay. Our host Christine is wonderful. An added bonus is the gift shop, ice cream and pizza right on site!

Perfect location

Perfect location at the north entrance to Itasca State Park and the Mississippi headwaters. The room was quiet and clean, the towels were big and fluffy, the bed was very comfortable and there was ice cream across the parking lot. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Great spot just outside itasca

Super easy access for me and my dog to hike in Itasca state park. Clean and rooms were new. Check in and out were simple and straight forward. Hopefully will be back this winter for some snowmobiling.

This property was very clean, new and nice. The owners were very accommodating to answer questions and provide extra items in the rooms. The proximity to Itasca State Park was convenient. I would definately stay here again!

Great place to enjoy Itasca

We enjoyed our time at Big Timbers! We were a family with two young kids and used the Vrbo to enjoy Itasca. The room was great and the bathtub was helpful with kids. We even walked nextdoor to get ice cream and pizza. This was a fantastic place to serve as your base camp when enjoying the park.

3rf time is a charm

We love the access to Itasca from here. We are lookig forward to our next visit and the lemon cheesecake ice cream. This was pur 3rd stay at Big Timbers.

The property is directly across the street from the north entrance of Lake Itasca, the Headwaters of the Mississippi. Beautiful north woods quiet experience. The owners are wonderful people that add to the stay. This is perfect for those who love the out of doors.

Perfect spot for a visit to Itasca

Exceeded expectations. Spotless, comfortable beds, and a large bathroom. The on-site ice cream shop & gift store was a nice plus. I definitely will be staying here again. So cozy that I ended up sleeping most of the day away. If you are planning to bike Itasca State Park, this location couldn't be closer. You can leave your car at the motel.

Location was incredible!

We were able to walk to the Headwaters of the Mississippi! The walk was 1.5 miles away and this was key as we could have the headwaters to ourselves at certain times. We came up to see this as do many tourists around the world, but for us we could walk there and enjoy the peace and quiet. I would highly recommend Big Timbers as the best location, great communication and comfortable.

Very friendly and accommodating

Christine was excellent about accommodating for our latex allergy, making sure any rubbery items were removed during our stay. We had a safe and relaxing stay without allergic reactions. We’re so thankful that she cared about our safety! The property is beautiful and clean. It’s so close to Itasca State Park and made going in and out of the park easy and quick.

Perfectly situated basically right next to the North entrance of Lake Itasca State Park. It's a brand new lodge, so everything is in tip-top shape. Big room, huge bathroom, even the mini-fridge was larger than I expected. No need to fumble around with keys or cards at the door, just unlock with a code you receive from the owner. It's family-run with excellent service. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Big Timber Folks

Was a pleasure. Nice, clean and simple which I was hoping for. Good people! Easy access to the park and would stay here again. My dog even had a good time. :) Ohh, the ice cream is pretty good too. Thank You Big Timbers. Grady
