This place is amazing. The host has been wonderful super communicative, very friendly & gave the best recommendations for places to eat and enjoy during our stay. Will definitely be booking here again. Had a great trip.

This was our second time staying at La Chiara. It was another fantastic experience! Love the home and all the extra goodies Frank provides. House is always clean and communication is excellent.

Pleasant

Overall a wonderful experience. Couldn't have picked a better place to have brought our two young boys. Close to redbud mx as well.

Wonderful place and hosts

The stay was wonderful! Our hosts were more than accommodating! The place was adorable with all the sculptures in the yard and even a scavenger hunt!!! Thank you so much! We would stay again and recommend to people as well!

what an amazing stay! host went above and beyond to make our trip comfortable and fun! provided us with great snacks and drinks! provided us with ponchos for our ND football game weekend! set up a fun treasure hunt with personalized prizes! great communication. would highly recommend and would love to be back someday!

Unique place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at La Chiara. Absolutely loved the scavenger hunt and we couldn’t believe all the food for breakfast and drinks provided (sparkling water, pop, Starbucks mocha, etc). The artwork and plane repurposed as a bar made this a very unique experience. Great communication with the owner. We would definitely stay here again!

Great time at La Chiara

We enjoyed our stay at La CHIARA! There was plenty of room and our host Frank went above and beyond to welcome us! We will be back next year.

Great weekend!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at La Chiara. The property was immaculate and well stocked. The treasure hunt was a pleasant surprise. Wish we could have stayed longer, will not hesitate to book again for our next visit to the area.

Clean and Fun!

We had a great time here! It's the first rental we've stayed in where my kids' socks weren't black on the bottom by the end of the day. So nice how clean everything was including the floors. The play room was a huge bonus that my kids loved, along with the treasure hunt and decorations around the property. We'll definitely stay here again!

Truly fantastic

The house was perfect for our wked get away to watch Notre Dame!! The host Frank & his wife were phenomenal!! The treasure hunt & gifts were great!! The stocked fridge, muffins, croissants, & fresh bread were a perfect quick grab before heading out for our adventures!! We will definitely be renting from them again if we plan another teip to South Bend!!

Amazing stay!

This place is adorable and so comfy. You can tell how much thought has gone into every single thing in this house. The snacks saved us a trip to the store and the treasure hunt was so cute and fun. The art all over the property and house is beautiful. The house is so close to everything in Buchanan, definitely walkable on a nice day. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely come back! :)

This was by far one of the best rental experiences we have ever had. Frank and his family went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. They truly represent the definition of hospitality. We came to see a Notre Dame game and celebrate my wife’s birthday and Frank incorporated a fun treasure hunt with gifts and personal touches. The place was clean, comfortable, spacious, and fully stocked with food, snacks, coffee, wine, etc. We loved seeing all of the art around the house and the super cool pieces outside - the plane was incredible and such a unique feature. We would absolutely recommend La Chiara to anyone looking for an amazing and off the beaten path stay.

Wow! Awesome rental property!

My adult children, a couple of their friends and I stayed here for a whirlwind weekend! The beds were very comfortable! The artistic vibe inside and out was so fun! The stocked fridge with all the goodies was such a hit for all of us! Such generous and thoughtful hosts! We wish we had another day to stay at the house more to enjoy the space! Thank you so very much La Chiara!

We came in for an ND Football weekend, and were very happy with our accommodations. Our host Frank went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and even included some snacks and beverages. The place is very cozy and family friendly and our teenagers liked sleeping downstairs in their own area. Great amenities in the kitchen, and a nice variety of beverages were included. The place is a 25 min drive to the campus and about 2 hours from Chicago. The town seemed nice, although we didn’t see much of it as we were there primarily for the game. Would definitely recommend La Chiara and its amazing hosts! Thanks again Frank and family

Amazing family getaway

We stayed here for a few days with a toddler and it was great. The host was extremely easy to communicate with and responsive. They had essentials for cooking and a few goodies like drinks and the best Danish I've ever eaten. There was a great playroom in the basement for kiddos with lots of toys. There was even a scavenger hunt we did one night. Dog friendly with a little runner outside and within walking distance (0.3 miles) of several dispensaries. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Michigan!

More than we expected!!

Best Vacation rental we've ever stayed at. It is everything you see in the pictures. Great! for a family to just relax. This property is only about 1 hour from home but they made you feel like you were on an adventure. The family were great hosts as well! Always checking in and making sure we had more than we needed! So fun! And we will definitely be back.

Exceptional stay!

My wife and I loved our 4 nights at La Chiara. Frank was an awesome host and clearly enjoys this role. Communication, hospitality and food/drink stocking were superb - the best we've ever experienced at a rental! The property is very clean, quite spacious with a private feeling and full of fun artwork. We especially enjoyed reading and relaxing on the screened porch. The neighborhood is quiet, safe residential and very convenient to downtown Buchanan. We'll be back. Well done!!

Twenty-first BD celebration

We picked Buchanan because it made sense geographically as we arrived in 3 cars, from 4 locations. Frank busted it to make sure that we had everything necessary for a comfy stay! Our treasure hunt was personalized to the T(-Rex)! The porch off our bedroom was delightful. Warren Dunes, Fernwood Botanical gardens, a couple of local micro-brewery’s just made the best low key stay for our family! Thanks again, Innkeeper Frank.

We have stayed in many vacation rentals but none with the attentiveness, generosity, and creativity of La Chiara. From the moment we booked, Frank was in contact with ideas for local dining and suggestions for filling our visit with fun activities. The home was clean, stocked with absolutely anything and everything you would need during your visit (foods, beverages, toiletries, chargers, blankets, etc.), and felt very safe. The house was styled with an eclectic mix of art and furniture that felt almost like a little museum that we much enjoyed perusing. Frank even set us up with a customized scavenger hunt as well as a prepped bonfire out by the plane. A for innkeeper hospitality, A for ambiance, A for cleanliness. Highly recommend - wish we had a reason to come back to Buchanan just to stay here again!

Little details are amazing!

Frankie does a wonderful job of making sure small details are taken care of. We stayed for my sons Notre Dame graduation and he made sure we had items for a quick breakfast and drinks! Phone chargers at each bedside, ice machine and a wonderfully stocked kitchen. Everything was very clean and organized. His scavenger hunt was very thoughtful, even for my adult son! Would highly recommend!

A Unique, Fun Stay

This was quite the unique place to stay at. When first finding out stays near South Bend for the Notre Dame game weekend were all but gone, I luckily chose this one from the choices a bit further out (~25 mins). We hadn't seen quite this much effort put into a rented stay, with artistic pieces inside and out. While the weather didn't allow us to hang out in the "plane bar" as much as we might have liked, we still were able to do the "scavenger hunt" and find some goodies! Appreciated the stay, and if you're on the fence with its distance from South Bend or for some other reason, it certainly is worth checking out.

Fantastic Stay!

We had an amazing experience staying at this property! Unlike many other VRBOs that seem to be scaling back on kitchen essentials, this place is incredibly well-stocked. Frank, the host, goes above and beyond to ensure guests have everything they need—even items that save you a trip to the store. Every room is thoughtfully equipped with phone chargers, a small but meaningful touch that really adds to the convenience. The beds are super comfortable, and the “treasure hunt” is such a fun, unique feature—it truly lives up to the hype! The location is perfect, just 20 minutes from Notre Dame’s campus, making it an excellent choice if you’re in town for a game or event. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next visit. Thanks, Frank, for creating such a welcoming and comfortable space!
