Located directly on the Susquehanna River in The Endless Mountains, “The Eagles Nest" has all the modern amenities you need, while still making you feel cozy and at home in this charming cottage. Enjoy dinner on the 3 season porch or relax on the large deck and watch the Eagles and wildlife from the perfect vantage point. Families and friends can kayak, fish or simply lounge and read a book. Bring your boat and launch directly from the property (we highly recommend a 4WD truck to launch your boat). In the evenings you can have a campfire (wood is supplied for you) or light the propane fireplace on the deck. And if you want to leave the house, you can take a 15 minute drive to Tunkhannock to visit the wineries or antique stores. The vacation possibilities are endless!

Great place along river

This is the second time we have stayed at Eagles Nest. Scenic location on the river and great hosts. House is neat and clean.

Birthday Bash weekend

The Eagles Nest was fabulous!!! We loved everything about our stay. We had a 70th birthday get together for my husband. The cabin was well stocked and very clean. It was easy to check in and Sarah answered all our questions. We will definitely be back!!! Loved seeing all the eagles.

Perfect and serene!

We travel each season to a different destination and always use VRBO, I can honestly say this is one of the best rentals we ever had the honor to visit, owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable, serene, beautiful and we saw 5 eagles the first day there. We love to hike and enjoy nature and there are so many beautiful trails and parks to visit! I have a feeling we’ll be back again, and our pups loved it! Thank you!

Eagles Nest Fall Foliage

Beautiful location and lovely home! It really felt like a home away from home. They provide every amenity you can even imagine. We all enjoyed ourselves so much. We can't wait to return. We will definitely be booking a full week or more next time. This place is a treasure!

Great stay

This was our 4th time staying at this property and we had an amazing time. We love the view from the porch and the kayaking. Will definetely be back next year.

Wonderful family getaway

Our time on the river was absolutely perfect. The kids had a blast fishing, kayaking, and spending evenings around the fire pit, creating memories that will last a lifetime. The house itself was ideal—so well-equipped and comfortable, it truly felt like a home away from home. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, and we’re already looking forward to returning!

Eagle's Nest - Amazing Rest

This property is truly a 5 star rental. I have rented many homes and the property manager was amazing to work with from start to finish. Daily viewing of the eagles and wildlife right off the deck. The dogs loves swimming in the river each day. Home offers plenty of room for larger groups as well. This property is truly better in person than what you see in pictures. Thank you again Sara for a wonderful trip!

Loved The Eagles Nest

We loved our time at The Eagles Nest. The house was clean and well equipped. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river. We really appreciated the gates on the deck, they made it safe for our toddler and dogs to be outside with us. The property manager was communicative and friendly. There were storms coming and she texted us to let us know the house was equipped with a generator and we didn’t have to worry about losing power. Overall, we were impressed with the house and would visit again!

Fun get away!!

Had a great stay at the Eagles Nest. I can’t say enough as the homeowner went above and beyond for us. The house is welcoming and has anything you could need. Our family truly enjoyed ourselves with fishing, kayaking, a bonfire and some good old relaxing. Thank you!!!

Summer vacation 2024

Enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the views and quiet neighborhood. The house and the property was spectacular. Kayaks were a lot of fun. Saw two eagle’s from the deck.

Eagle's Nest

We all had a great time at the river house. The home is so well equipped and spotlessly clean! Everything was so comfortable. The weather was so warm and sunny and we enjoyed swimming fishing and kayaking. The deck was amazing with the beautiful mountain face view. We would love to come back again! Thank you!

Peaceful Getaway

Such a beautiful view

Man, to wake up with the view of the river behind you, sipping some coffee and enjoying the scenery was a real treat. The house is amazing and the property manager was very nice and extremely helpful! Thank you!

Picturesque Place

Very nice recently renovated home right on the river. Sit on the deck and enjoy the view. We even saw bald eagles along the shoreline. Comfortable, clean and relaxing. Enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Testimony of a meticulously clean mama!

I’ve been to places that had reviews claiming it was clean but when I arrive, I find stained pillows and mattresses masked with “clean” sheets linted with hair— definitely NOT something I want my family sleeping on just to wake up congested and with irritated skin! Apparently it’s NOT common sense to put on hypoallergenic mattress/pillow protectors, so I’ve always had to travel with my own sheets to try to add another layer of protection as much as I can for my family. This was the FIRST place I’ve been to that was as clean my own home!! I slept with such peace of mind. Finally pillow and mattress protectors, clean soft sheets, and comfy covers! Not to mention the best Sam’s club towels ;) Thank you!! The location couldn’t have been more perfect. We needed a secluded, quiet break from the business of life without driving too far. This was it! The view was so relaxing, the house-feel so warm, and the patio seating and porch swing were so calming for the soul. The fire pit was really enjoyable, and that’s besides the fire pit in the patio itself! We didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor games though because of the weather. The owners really thought of everything that one would want in their own home! They really put thought into even aspect. They even put up a Christmas tree for us because we spent Christmas break there. Sara, you were awesome! We really hope we can come again soon. Love, Your Jersey neighbors :)

Favorite Spot 😍

Pictures do not do this house any justice. As soon as you get out of your car it is super peaceful. Get up on the deck and the view is stunning! Entering the house is not what we expected, super clean, spacious, overall lovely! We were thinking of coming in the summer. The only downside is the water quality smelling sooo much of sulphur we could barely brush our teeth or shower. But we were told that it was being worked on so thats an upside! 5 star rating!

PERFECT FOR OUR GIRLS WEEKEND!

My girlfriends and I took a long weekend trip to the Eagles Nest. It was everything that we needed. The beautiful view would have been enough but the house was clean & the perfect size for us. The deck is huge and complete with fire pit table ! The indoor porch was perfect for meals and games. We even took the kayaks out! There was wonderful communication our whole trip with the PM, she left us wine & the instruction book has everything we needed to know. We will definitely be visiting the Eagles Nest again !
