Discover a hidden gem of a bygone era. Our cozy, spacious, immaculate, tastefully designed, and private detached guest house is in a quaint historic neighborhood created in the 1920's that invites you to take a stroll and soak in the charm of a different era. We're conveniently located 10 minutes from the airport and within walking distance or very short drive from many concert venues (including The Van Buren, Crescent Ballroom, The Nash, Arizona Financial Theatre, Orpheum Theatre, Symphony Hall), sports stadiums (including Chase Field and Footprint Center), great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and lots of attractions.
This private and quiet studio casita with one comfy queen-size bed is well-stocked with lots of amenities to make your stay comfortable.
Beautiful, lush, serene, quiet backyard with private patio area to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon/evening drinks and watch the chickens while taking in a 360 view of one of the prettiest backyards you'll ever experience.
The guest house was recently constructed and is spacious, immaculate, and tastefully decorated/detailed with all the amenities you'll need. It's located in the enchanting and picturesque backyard of our historic home. The guest house is situated within the citrus tree orchard so it's very peaceful and beautiful. And when the citrus blooms are in season the fragrance is amazing! The casita is a separate structure on the property so you'll have it all to yourself. Mature and lush landscaping provides a serene outdoor environment, including several inviting seating areas as well as your own private patio where you can enjoy watching the chickens. (No rooster!)
The casita includes contactless check-in using the door keypad, on-street free parking, new comfy queen bed, high quality linens, large wardrobe cabinet, fridge, microwave, two-burner hot plate, toaster oven, dishes, pots/pans, coffee-maker, blender, other kitchen essentials, spacious bathroom and shower, plus high-speed private WiFi and 42" Smart TV.
We can also provide a Pack 'n Play with linens, high chair, and inflatable twin air mattress upon request.
There are lots of amenities in the casita to make your stay inviting, enjoyable, and worry-free!
Please note that we do not allow guests to bring pets in the guest house or on our property.

We're Larry and Kristi! We have been hosts for many years, starting with Airbnb and now VRBO, as well. In fact, we're a VRBO "Premier Host" and designated by VRBO as an "Exceptional Place to Stay." We're also an Airbnb Superhost with a 100% 5-star rating from all of our guests. The Hen House has been designated as a "Guest Favorite" and is ranked in the top 1% of best short-terms rentals in the Phoenix downtown area! We love to host! We have five adult children, a delightful little rescue dog named Willetta who loves to get to know our guests, and five chickens. If available, we're happy to provide our guests with a few fresh eggs. We love to travel and always stay in hosted homes and bed & breakfasts, so we know what it takes to make a guest's experience wonderful and we strive to achieve this for our guests. We also love historic homes and live in the main residence on the same property which was built in 1927!

If you like historic homes and staying in a lovely, quiet, quaint community during your stay, then you'll love our historic neighborhood and all the cool homes here! Hard to believe we're only a few minutes from all the hustle and bustle happening in downtown Phoenix. The casita -- we lovingly refer to it as "The Hen House" -- is located in the backyard of our primary residence that was built in 1927. The spacious studio guest house is very private and all your own. It's actually situated in our citrus tree orchard which is pretty cool! You'll love our lush and beautiful shared backyard that has a grapefruit tree, orange trees, tangelo tree, lemon tree, lime tree, a picket-fenced raised garden bed area with herbs and veggies, chicken coop & run with five cute chickens ever (no roosters), a variety of wonderful cozy covered and uncovered sitting areas/patios and firepits, patio dining table, bbq, etc. The backyard really is gorgeous and worth staying here in and of itself. And of course you'll love the cozy and comfy casita where you'll be staying. It's a recent addition to the property and has all the amenities you'll need (including fresh eggs and fruit when in-season and available). The queen bed is new and really comfy! Everyone who has stayed at the Hen House loves it, and we have 100% 5-star reviews. We're here to make your stay wonderful, so don't hesitate to ask us for anything you need while you're staying here.
