Quiet house on 16 acres, newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms, fresh paint, screen porch with couch and table to sip your morning coffee while taking in mountain views. Outdoor dining table in Screen porch. Fire pit for making s'mores. Just a short drive to Manchester with great restaurants and outlet shopping. Fishing in the Green and Battenkill Rivers, many hiking routes close by including the Appalachian Trail and serene views all included. 15 min to Manchester, 35 min to Bromley and 45 min to Stratton. Great for motorcycle travels as the NEBDR is close. Bring your adventure motorcycle group and enjoy the many out and back loops in the area.

The house is indeed secluded, on a gravel road/drive way. It’s big. Has three nice size rooms and climate control in all rooms. The living space has massive windows that overlook a beautiful mountain range. The host is kind, check-in efficient, and provides a good experience and amenities. All of that said, the listing images don’t show you the whole picture. There are leak spots throughout the drop-ceilings in two bedrooms. One leak spot in the bunk bed room directly where your face would be. In the bedroom with the queen/double bed, the drop-ceiling is covered in evidence of leaks and what was quite possibly mold. My partner and I got some significant allergy symptoms in that room before we looked up and saw. The property looks like a work in progress, so I’m sure this is on the list for the host to tackle, but for those with allergies be aware.

We loved our Stay in this adorable home, comfortable and close by to the Wedding in Manchester that we were attending. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Beautiful views of the mountains and David is a great host, answers any questions you may have.

We had a lovely time at this cottage with the most beautiful mountain views. The host provided everything you could think of including treats for the dog and s'mores for us! There are some wonderful hikes nearby so the dog had a wonderful time!

Very quiet location. Beds were comfortable and the cottage was very clean. The host was very hospitable and easy to get a hold of. We had a very relaxing week.

Perfect fall escape to Vermont! We really loved the solitude of the property and our dog had a lot of space to explore outside. The unobstructed view of the mountains made morning coffee on the porch and sunset campfires really special too. The cabin was clean and we appreciated the added goodies, dog treats, and firewood! Check-in was a breeze and the wifi worked very well. The drive to nearby Manchester was quick and gorgeous. Highly recommend this property.

The house was as advertised. Having no oven was the only challenge that I was not fully prepared for. The air fryer took a bit of work to understand how to work (my problem, not that of the site). Being pet friendly was a big selling point for us - with both a dog and a cat. The quiet location was perfect for us. The only unexpected noise was from neighbors down the road during the 4th. We had hoped that we had picked a place far enough from fireworks, but that didn't happen after all.The beds were comfortable, the water was hot when we needed hot water, the shower was great, the table on the porch was an inviting place for breakfast every day, and the fire ring had lots of fuel ready to burn and made for good cookouts.There was sooo much to see and do in Southern Vermont that we were busy the whole time we were there. The Norman Rockwell exhibit in Arlington on was a pleasant surprise. The drive to the top of Mount Equinox was special. We enjoyed the Robert Frost stone house. The museum in Bennington with the Grandma Moses Exhibit was excellent. Hiking the Application Trail was the reason we came and definitely worth the trip in itself. The state parks had great kyaking and hiking too. Bennington, Woodstock, and all sorts of little towns have shopping that is fun. All in all, we had a great vacation and loved our time in Vermont.

The area was beautiful, we really enjoyed the piece and quiet while at the house. Enjoyed coffee on the screened porch and drinks by the fire pit. The sunrise was spectacular to watch!

Great place!

This house was perfect for our weekend getaway! Beautiful views, clean and quiet. David made sure we had everything we needed! There isn’t an oven or a microwave so you have to plan your meals accordingly but other than that this place is highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Quiet retreat

My wife and I had the most peaceful and relaxing long weekend in years! Everything about David’s house was perfect. We especially enjoyed having coffee each morning in the screened-in porch and later relaxing by the fire pit and enjoying the spectacular views. We can’t wait to return!

Sandgate House

The property was just as described. The view was amazing. It was great that we could bring our dog with us. The personal touches were so nice. We could have stayed another week! Dave was very responsive. We definitely will be booking another stay. Thank you!!

Remote, quiet, lovely.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was clean, had everything we needed for a quiet getaway in the mountains. There were nice touches that made our stay a little easier (snacks, supplies for a fire, coffee!). The house is older and there are ongoing renovations but that did not impact our stay. The screened in porch was our favorite with beautiful views.
