Wonderful Holiday Home

A little slice of paradise in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Maine du Bost has everything you could possibly need. It is so well equipped, beautiful interiors, plenty of space and an amazing dining space both inside and out, with a large pool. The wonderful host Dorothee answered any questions swiftly about local amenities and services. Really is the perfect home for a great family holiday. Lots to do in the area, kayaking, walking, vineyards, historic buildings. Almost don’t want to tell everyone for fear it will be fully booked. Thank you Dorothee and family. We will be back

Monestier August 2023

We had a fantastic week at Monestier this summer, and the property exceeded expectations. The house is generously proportioned, with 4 excellent double bedrooms (all with direct external access and lots of storage). The kitchen is modern and well-equipped, and the huge double-height living area is really exceptional. The property is in a completely private spot, and the pool larger than average and in excellent condition. Overall, the house was amongst the best we’ve stayed in France - a perfect mixture of character and functionality, with everything completed to a really high standard. A lot of care and thought has gone into the house, and it was a pleasure to stay.

Even better than it looks in the pictures!

We were a group of 7 adults and this property was perfect for us. Beautifully appointed, cool, light and airy with high quality fixtures and fittings and plenty of kitchen equipment for keen cooks to make best use of lovely local ingredients. Very comfortable superking beds in all bedrooms and 4 bath/shower rooms were ideal since we were a group of cyclists who certainly needed a shower after hot rides in the lovely countryside. Really good sized pool that got a lot of use, and it was superb to eat supper on the shady roofed patio. An even prettier setting than it looks online, and very extensive grounds. Good laundry facilities and plenty of room to store our bikes. Recomended without hesitation.

Maine du Bost… we booked a last minute break & came across this jewel in the crown. Perfect location - peaceful but within 20 minutes of all the places you would want to visit in Perigor Pourpre. Walking into the property you instantly get a sense of peace & perfection - every detail is well thought out & the open plan space very reminiscent of the perfect French home. Each of the 4 bedrooms are luxurious & comfortable with en-suite & the pool is the piece de resistance. We loved our 7 night stay so much we’re looking to book for a fortnight next year. Thank you to Dorothee for providing such an exceptional home for us to enjoy & regroup and of course Emmanuelle for her attention to detail & going the extra mile.

A lovely stay in the Dordogne

We had a fabulous two weeks in the Dordogne, staying in this first class property. Over the last 25 years we have stayed in many houses in France and Italy; this has to be rated as the best. A magnificent house - outstanding in every way. Beautifully laid out and equipped. The pool is superb and the garden lovely. The only issue is location - the house is not near any shops or restaurants and so you have to drive to get any food or to find somewhere to eat or get a drink. That is not unusual in France as the villages lose their boulangeries and bistros, but worth bearing in mind. But, to finish - this is a fabulous house and a fabulous place to stay. Enjoy!

Wonderful

We have been holidaying in France for many years and this is one of the loveliest homes we have stayed in. It had everything we needed and was very well equipped. We had beautiful weather for our stay and made the most of the outside grill and the amazing pool. But if the weather was bad, there was still plenty of indoor space to relax and enjoy without feeling cramped. The beds were extremely comfortable. It’s not often it seems nicer than the one at home. Dorothee (owner) and Emmanuelle (housekeeper) were both easy to deal with and friendly. It is a beautiful area to visit. We found a local boulengerie that was excellent, as are the supermarkets. We visited St Emillion and Montbazillac. Both lovely. We would love to come back

Parfait !

Très belle propriété, très bien équipée. Superbe piscine Emmanuelle a été d’une efficacité redoutable et extrêmement à l’écoute durant tout le séjour. Les guêpes ont pu être éliminées très rapidement. Je recommande sans réserve.

Excellent séjour au Maine du Bost

Nous avons passé 3 superbes semaines dans cette propriété exceptionnelle. La maison est vraiment très belle (encore mieux que les photos!) et parfaitement équipée . On ne manque de rien. La cuisine en particulier a absolument tout et l’électroménager est de très bon standing. La piscine a ravi nos ados (et les plus grands!) pendant des heures et est vraiment très agreable. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié la grande terrasse couverte avec vue jardin et donnant sur la piscine. Parfait pour les journées chaudes. Emmanuelle et son équipe sont tous charmants et toujours à l’écoute. Nous recommandons vivement cette propriété et pensons déjà à nos prochaines vacances!

Fantastic property, wonderful week

A beautiful and superbly appointed property where we enjoyed a fantastic week. Pool, outside areas, lively kitchen and idyllic surroundings all contributed to a great stay. We had mixed weather but there is plenty to do and see in the area so we were entertained as well as enjoying relaxing at the house. Thank you very much.

Spectacular High Spec Home in Wine Country!

The setting, the house, the decor, the swimming pool, the location - all were perfect. Each room had a luxurious en suite bathroom and all parts of the house were immaculate. Little details like all crockery and cutlery matching make all the difference (to me anyway), and even the decking by the pool, the shutters, cushions and stone work all follow a similar colour palette which really makes you feel SUPER relaxed. At 17 metres, the pool is ideal for swimming lengths , and the surrounding garden was a perfect for playing a little boules! The property is surrounded by vineyards and is a perfect distance to nearby attractions like Eyemet, Bergerac and Duras, not to mention the golf course just 10 minutes drive away. I would go back to this place in a heartbeat - it's just stunning!!!

A wonderful 3 weeks at Maine du Bost

My friends and family and I shared a wonderful three weeks at the Maine du Bost. The property was exactly as pictured and provided a perfect base for relaxation by the pool, BBQs on the terrace and cozy evenings with a glass of wine. Emanuelle and Dorothee were always on hand and answered any queries we had promptly, including providing lots of useful restaurant recommendations! Thank you for a fantastic stay in this beautiful property - we wouldn't hesitate to return again!

Prachtig huis in een oase van rust

Traumhafte Entspannung für Genießer

Das Haus gehört zu den absolut besten Anmietungen, die wir in den letzten Jahren hatten. Ein absolut sauberes und sehr gut ausgestattetes Haus, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Die Küche hat einen riesigen Kühlschrank in Gastronomie-Qualität, einen großen Induktionsherd und alle Utensilien, die man für ein Kochvergnügen braucht. Die Plancha auf der Terrasse bietet viele Möglichkeiten für leckere Speisen. Die Lage garantiert absolute Ruhe und Entspannung. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in wenigen Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Radfahrer können durch die Weinberge und kleinen Dörfer fahren. Läufer kommen bei den wenigen Autos auf der Straße auch auf ihre Kosten. Das Schwimmbad ist mit 26° perfekt auch bei bedecktem Himmel. Wir waren rundum sehr, sehr zufrieden.

Wie van rust en privacy houdt is hier aan het juiste adres. Prachtig huis met ruime kamers en een zwembad waar je baantjes in kan trekken. Het huis is voorzien van alle comfort. Een echte aanrader!

Fantastic hosts

Unfortunately our trip to Maine du Bost was affected by Covid-19 and travel restrictions, however Doro and Jan have demonstrated they are fantastic hosts with incredible communications and responsiveness. We cannot wait to visit their property next year and we thank them for their understanding and flexibility.

Une très belle propriété au calme

Une excellent semaine en famillle. La villa est décorée avec goût et dispose de tous les équipements nécessaires pour ceux qui aiment cuisiner. La piscine et le patio sont particulièrement agréables pour y passer des après-midi et des soirées conviviales.
