Regarding check-in, the entry instructions were sent via text to the phone number on file two days prior to arrival. We verified that the message was successfully delivered. We understand that messages can occasionally be missed, and as soon as you contacted us, we immediately provided the instructions again to ensure you were able to access the property without further delay. Concerning the water issue, we came to the property shortly after it was reported to investigate. The attic space directly above the apartment was completely dry, and there were no signs of an ongoing interior leak. Upon further inspection of the exterior, we found that a gutter along that side of the building had become weighed down by heavy ice buildup following the recent snowstorm and extended period of extreme cold. The ice had bent the gutter and was pushing meltwater back against the brick, which caused minor water intrusion. This was weather-related and not a long-term maintenance issue. We are currently scheduling gutter repairs and addressing the affected interior area, including cleaning and repainting. This building dates back to the mid-1800s, and many guests specifically choose the property for its historic character and architectural charm. While we maintain the space regularly and replace linens and towels as needed, it is not intended to feel like a newly constructed hotel. Most of our guests appreciate the unique character that comes with a historic property. We appreciate your comments and will continue making improvements. Our goal is always to provide a comfortable stay while preserving the historic nature that so many of our guests enjoy.
