Guest Cottage in the country

Guest cottage located 15 minutes from Historic downtown Silverton, 10 minutes from Silverton Reservoir and 20 minutes from Silver Falls State park. Master bedroom with Queen size bed, upstairs loft with 2 extra long twin beds, and twin size daybed in living room with twin trundle. Kitchenette has microwave, toaster, coffee maker, suitable for breakfast and heating up food. Full size fridge and Washer and dryer. Minimum stay 2 nights ,Maximum stay 4 nights. Experience a taste of county life with Dogs, Cats, Alpacas, Goats & Chickens ( yes we have a Rooster) on our 9 acre's. Note for guests: While we are not “ off the grid”, we can and do loose power, have sketchy cell service and problems with * Wi fi. We do have a generator which will run the essentials. The downstairs is heated and cooled by a new mini split and will sleep 4 guests comfortably. There is a window air conditioner in the loft upstairs, but on very hot days it still gets stuffy and warm. We are in the COUNTRY, bugs and critters live here. We do not use Herbicides or Insecticides as we are a home to Bees. We our best to keep unwelcome visitors at bay, but sometimes they drop in uninvited. Occasionally there is field buring in the area, which we have no control over. PLEASE read the welcome email from VRBO that you will receive prior to your stay. It will have detailed directions and contact numbers, the property can be challenging to find.
* We have been having major issues with Wi-fi, so while there is a booster in the guest house we can’t guarantee you Wi-fi, thus we have removed it from amenities.

Beautiful welcoming home

This was a beautiful home very clean and friendly hosts. We came up for Silver falls national park and it was just 10 minutes down the road which was great after the 7 mile hike. Definitely recommend.

A comfortable cottage with character

We had a very nice weekend stay. We enjoyed the spaciousness, the comfortable furniture, the fun and quirky art, and of course the goats and alpacas. The host was exceptionally gracious and helpful. Lovely property.

Beautiful place to stay!

We loved staying on this property for our short weekend. We wished we could have stayed longer. Mavis and Dan are super nice people and the guest cottage is delightful! We loved visiting and giving snacks to the alpacas and goats. Even the rooster was a warm welcome each morning! Definitely will stay here again if we are ever in Silverton!

Interesting

Charming country cottage BUT the place is covered with interesting Witchcraft/voodoo like decor. It might not bother some but you definitely have to be okay with being surrounded by it. Nowhere in the description or reviews were there any warnings to the creepy environment. Mavis is super nice and I know it’s her “art” but it made us feel uneasy. It would have been nice to know what we were going in to. My husband will not ever being staying there again but I do have family and friends that found it interesting and would like to stay there JUST to see her art for themselves.

Beautiful Place

We loved staying here!! Dan and Mavis are accommodating and so friendly. We loved seeing their animals....a nice addition. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. The air conditioner was a definite plus. One thing that would be helpful if staying more then a couple days would be a stove. But, we did fine with microwave for our two day stay. .

We were charmed!

If you love art, animals and the outdoors, you will love your stay in this cute little guest cottage as much as we did! The owners are so generous with their time and property. The decor in and around the property is full of quirky, interactive and fun art. We got to feed the alpacas and goats daily and loved playing with Stella the enthusiastic and sweet dog. Lenny the rooster was chatty but added to the charm for us. The loft bedroom was too warm during the heatwave but we slept 4 adults comfortably downstairs. The perfect spot for our Silver Falls adventures as it was only 9 miles away. Silverton is a cute town nearby with plenty of nice restaurants so not having a stove wasn’t a problem at all. We would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Want to get away and have some peace?

This guest cottage is off the beaten path, complete with farm animals, flowers, trees, and a country-like feel. Mavis and Dan were very friendly hosts. Although they live on the property, they respect your privacy, while being available for questions. The place has a typical farmhouse feel with Mavis' artistic touch. Definately a place to get away from city life. All cooking has to be done by microwave and toaster, so plan accordingly. Internet is sketchy. Otherwise, all needed amenities are provided. Comfortable bed, large refreigh, nice shower. We called it our "home" while spending the days at Silver Falls State Park "camping, swimming and hiking" with our kids and grandkids. It was perfect for this as it was about 13 min away from the Park. Great place to come back to, clean up, and get a good night sleep.

Cozy and Peaceful

Perfect location. Great, comfortable little house away from town, but close enough to get what you need. Very quiet and peaceful. Midway between Silverton and Silver Falls State Park. Mavis and Dan were excellent hosts.

Wonderful retreat

We stayed for a wedding at silver falls and it was the perfect distance. The owner was so kind and thoughtful with the amenities. It was a very peaceful place to spend a few days. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay

Mavis and Dan were great hosts. Beautiful country, great location , creative furnishings and art displayed on every wall. Friendly farm animals (Alpacas and goats ) . Located close to the state park . We'll be back for sure . Thanks Mavis and Dan we really appreciate the home.

Great cozy cottage!

The property is just as advertised. The hosts were great! They even made sure we had snacks to feed the Alpacas and goats! We had a great time! The beds were all comfortable, there was plenty of space for 3 adult women friends on a girls weekend. We would stay here again if we need a place in that area in the future. Thank you Mavis and Dan

Quiet and relaxing!

We were in town for a wedding. Host made sure we had all we needed to get ready. My husband said, "Wish I could stay another 5 days to just sit on the porch and relax." Very pretty setting. Clean and comfortable.

Charming cottage

The property was great, very quiet. Was greeted with fresh blueberries. We did not clearly understand that the house didn’t have a stove or bbq outside. We had went grocery shopping before we got there to grab groceries to cook breakfast in the morning, but when we got there we found out there was no way to cook except the microwave. Even just a griddle would have been handy.

Charming cottage

Absolutely beautiful property! Really enjoyed the grounds, peaceful ambience of the area and the cottage. Eclectic decor, definitely fun! Plenty of room. Our bed was comfortable. Kitchen has some appliances, but need to be aware of what’s supplied. With a little creativity, and a barbecue with a griddle, we made out fine. Totally enjoyed our stay, will be back :-)

Very convenient location

The house is within a 15 minute drive to Silver Falls State park and the town of Silverton. The house is an old farm house with a rustic atmosphere. Kitchen is very basic with refrigerator, microwave,and sink but no stove. There are plenty of nice restaurants in town. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. It is a very relaxing place.

1000% WILL stay again

Rented for a girls weekend. We all felt welcomed & right at home from the sweetest owners that are on site. Such a relaxing property and home. We have decided it's a wonderful property for our girls trips and are excited to come back.

Great location near Silver Falls State Park. Very clean and comfortable! Just be aware, per the description, that there are very limited cooking options. Easy to prepare breakfast/lunch but dinner was very challenging. Easier to go to town to local restaurants.

Pleasant Country Cottage

We looked for a convenient anniversary getaway between Silver Falls and Silverton, and found Mavis and Dan's place at the perfect midway point. Mavis met us immediately upon arrival and gave us a brief introduction to her home and its accommodations. We had planned to walk the ten falls trail, but a winter snow storm changed our plan a bit. We chose rather to relax and enjoy the storm from inside the cottage. It had more space than we needed, but that was okay. It felt like a country home nestled in a forest, complete with the sites and sounds of a farm, chickens, turkeys, and alpacas in view or hearing. The interior décor was intriguing as well, flavor of antique, and art combined. I enjoyed reading several chapters of an old Sir Walter Scott Novel, Woodstock, which I found on a shelf. On our last day we drove to Silver Falls and walked to several of the more accessible falls, in a enchanting wintery wonderland. Altogether a very pleasant experience, DC
