Lovely place with a lot of character in a very cute town. Very clean, comfortable beds (including sleeper sofa), and plenty of room. Host was very good about communicating throughout the reservation and stay. We look forward to staying here again!

Wonderful

I had another wonderful stay at the Basswood. The spacious suite is my home when I’m visiting my family in West Virginia. Comfy bed, lots of light, great bathroom, easy parking. And I saw the lunar eclipse! Plus, you can’t ask for a better host.

Nice overnight stay

Needed a place to stay prior to going kayaking on the South Branch of the Potomac. Grilled out steaks for dinner, microwaved breakfast, and was only 30 minutes from the river at Romney. Nice little town, but don’t expect too much. Most things close at 5p and are only open on select days. I would recommend doing your homework if that is what you are looking for.

Everything was great. The only reason not 5/5 stars was the fold out sofa bed was humped up in middle of the mattress. I flipped the mattress around and it didn't help. The heater is also not real streamlined. I had to contact host for instructions for how to use. Once I got the instructions it was very easy.

We stayed in the Willow Suite which is on the ground floor around the back. Very quite and relaxing space. Had coffee out back in the morning over looking the river. A very nice property. Planning a return trip to Capon Bridge in the fall and will stay here again. Ian was fantastic to deal with. Very prompt communication.
