Tippy Canoe Cabin: Lake views & Hot Tub

Perched at the end of a quiet private road, Tippy Canoe Cabin sits high above Douglas Lake with 180° panoramic views of the lake and English Mountain that are genuinely hard to find anywhere else in the area. This is the kind of place where you lose track of time watching the light change over the water.

The wraparound deck is where most guests end up spending half their trip — morning coffee, golden hour, the hot tub after dark with the lake spread out below you. Inside, the cabin sleeps 6 across two private bedrooms and an open loft, with a fully stocked kitchen, electric fireplace, and fiber Wi-Fi throughout.

As part of Douglas Lake Resort, guests also have access to a seasonal pool, a private boat launch, and parking with room for a trailer.

Pigeon Forge is about 25-30 minutes away, Gatlinburg and the national park around 45. But honestly, a lot of guests tell us they barely want to leave.

Booking requirements: A signed rental agreement, government-issued ID, and $500 security deposit hold are required within 24 hours of booking. Primary renter must be 25+.

Beautiful and relaxung

The cabin is immaculate and the decorations are gorgeous. The view from the porch is amazing especially at sunset. Our host is friendly and responsive to any needs we have. We are repeat guests to this beautiful cabin!

Very well appointed

I have rented numerous cabins over the years and this is by far one of the cleanest and well appointed that I have stayed in, my husband even commented on the quality of the amenities which he typically never does. The owner was so friendly and followed to check uf we needed anything. I cant wait to stay there again.

Everything was wonderful!

Found this gem for a last minute get away. The cabin was perfect for a relaxing homey feel after scheduled outings for the day. Exactly what I was looking for… CLEAN, well-stocked and beautifully decorated. Attention to detail was definitely noted. Tamara was attentive and very helpful with recommendations. The whole process was smooth and professional. Our only complaint was not a single nibble in my son’s 4 days of casting his fishing line! Would love to visit again soon!

Relaxing stay

The cabin was beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Extremely clean, and the owner provided so much information about the area and things to do and see. We hope to stay again some day!

Best Weekend Trip

Cabin was just as pictured. The scenery was beautiful. We stayed at the cabin and relaxed for one whole day then on day two we spent half the day in Pigeon Forge. It’s in a great location where you can feel secluded and just relax the whole trip but there is so much to do if you want to venture out. Tamara was very nice and always available if needed. Check in was easy and she was very detailed w/explaining where everything was and with the checkout process. She gave great recommendations for attractions and dinning. We were very pleased w/our visit to the Tippy Canoe cabin. I’d love to make it back there one day soon!

Picture perfect cabin on Lake Douglas

Loved that this cabin was fully stocked and clean. Appreciated the hot tub being refilled before each guest. Our family enjoyed the sunsets over Lake Douglas each night. Highly recommend!

Awesome lake house

The owners were accommodating from the moment we booked the cabin. Check-in was easy, coffee was great, plenty of cookware and utensils plus seasonings. I really liked the fact they had nice shampoos, conditioners and body washes. Loved the porch, hot tub and the view was beautiful!

Loved the Tippy Canoe

The Tippy Canoe Cabin was a great place to stay. Quite and in the country, but super close to grocery and services. Beautiful view of the lake from the wrap around deck and the hot tub. A short hop to get into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Beautiful Views & Cabin!

You can tell there was so much thought put into this cabin! Beautiful views, comfy beds and pillows on the couches, everything was very clean and tidy! There were many resources with ideas on what to explore in area, and clear instructions on how to prepare the cabin for cleaning for the next guests.

Beautiful

Cabin is beautiful, clean, cozy and quiet. Location is a bit of a drive to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge where we spend most of the time went in Sevierville town which was a pleasant surprise ate at a nice restaurant called Pinch had great lobster roll which my husband loved.

Gorgeous cabin with gorgeous view!

This was a beautifully decorated cabin spotlessly clean with a huge deck looking over the lake. My husband and I stayed for 6 days and were so sad to leave! The bedrooms were big and comfortable and the living and kitchen area were great! We watched the sunset on the deck every night. It is definitely the most beautiful cabin with the best view in the resort. The hostess was welcoming and accomodating. We will definitely stay again!

Tippy Canoe stay

This property was exactly as stated. View is better than the pictures. Home is very clean and furnishings are upscale and lovely. The home is well appointed with everything you need and more. Host is wonderful and very responsive. Loved the extra touch of a welcome card and package. Will definitely stay again!

Exactly as described

The property was very clean. The host was very nice and informative. The views are out of this world. My Son and i had fun in the hot tub and playing video games and Foosball. The beds were very comfortable. We loved every minute of our stay. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for the great memories.

Wow…What a View!!!

If I could give this property more that 5 stars, I would. What a beautiful cabin with every amenity one might need. The property is immaculate, private and comfortable. An excellent experience . Lovely property was just as described in listing. Great views, sparkling clean and well appointed. Really appreciated the comprehensive cabin book detailing the cabin amenities, local activities and emergency POCs.
