700 square foot 1-bedroom guest unit. Minutes from several nature preserves, including Morro Bay and Montana de Oro State Parks. Set back from road on 1/2-acre lot. Attached to owner's residence, but otherwise entirely private. Cozy and beautiful place

Cozy spot in great location

Perfect location to enjoy the central coast with the whole family (pets included). Hosts were very accommodating and communicative. Look forward to returning some day!

The Perfect Getaway!

The property is so cozy, close to the beach, and just far enough to feel like you’re in a beachside getaway. We have had a great time there and we are always so happy we chose the birdhouse for our stay. Thank you Jim and Mini for making our little guy’s fourth birthday so special!!

Relaxing weekend

The Birdhouse

What a terrific place to stay. We used it as a home base to travel from for beach trips, shopping, and hiking. Nice and comfortable.

Lovely spot, would recommend

Lovely spot for watching birds, convenient to local trails and good area to walk around out the front door. Nice quiet area. Space was well appointed for the few days we visited. Hosts were welcoming and great.

The Birdhouse near Morro Bay

We had a lovely stay at the Birdhouse. Located in Los Osos, it is centally located and a short trip to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. It is quite ideal for a couple. The hosts were wonderful.

Wonderful stay!!

Everything was perfect, even better than described! The hosts add all sorts of wonderful touches like real half and half for the coffee and fluffy blankets by the couch. We will definitely be back.

Spotless and welcoming

I had a lovely time staying here. The hosts thought of every detail down to blankets and slippers for cold nights. They also have a comfy reclining chair perfect for reading. The place is spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent values, wonderful people

I am a big fan of the Birdhouse concept. The hosts focus on natural history is a unique and really great reason to choose this accommodation. The bed is very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Relaxing stay at the Birdhouse

Relaxing stay in Los Osos. Jim and Mini are wonderful hosts. Very clean accommodations. Very quiet. Had our little dog with us and he enjoyed it too. There's a small area that's fenced in where your dog can go out and go potty, which is convenient. My wife and I and our dog all had a very nice time.

It was so quiet and peaceful. It almost felt like we were in the mountains. I loved hearing the birds. The hosts were most gracious and welcoming. They added lots of little touches that made the stay most comfortable including having my favorite brand of coffee with half and half.

Lovely stay at the birdhouse

Our stay at Jim and Mini’s bird house was wonderful. We were there for two days, and it was a very cute property adjacent to their house and farm. In addition to the very comfortable home space, with a lovely collection of books on Californian wildlife, there was a beautiful outdoor seating space which played host to a number of beautiful birds, and a wonderful vegetable farm. To top it off, they were great hosts with wonderful tips on how to best explore the area. We would totally visit again if we had the chance.

Cozy Nature Getaway

We recently visited the guest house in Morro Bay for our son's third birthday weekend with our pup, and we can't wait to go back! The house perfectly accommodated us and our dog while we were there. The house was nestled in a quiet, peaceful spot a short drive away from the beach and Morro Rock. The guesthouse had everything we needed to rest in our downtime and eat together before our next venture. The owners made sure we had everything we needed and also spent some time showing us the beautiful pieces of nature around the property. Thank you for an amazing stay, we hope to be back soon!

Such a special spot!

Jim and Mini are so welcoming and made our trip for my birthday so special. They welcomed us with a bottle of wine from a local vineyard for my birthday when we arrived and sent us home with lemons and apples from their garden! The guest house was clean and very comfortable, and our dog loved being able to do out in the back fenced area. The house is a short walk from a lovely bird sanctuary and we took an amazing bike ride to the local state park right from the house. We would definitely come back!!

Comfy and Quiet

We loved our stay! Cozy and perfectly located to explore the Central Coast. Within walking distance to south end of Morro Bay. That bed was awesome!!!! Slept sooooo well! Thick, absorbent bath towels and shower products provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). The property was well-maintained and very tidy and pretty. Oh! And the beautiful artwork (photography) on the walls! We surely plan to visit again.

A Great Place To Rest

If I could give "The Birdhouse" more stars I would. Jim and Mini are the best! They made us feel at home right from the start. Their place was so cozy, comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. We had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was so comfortable and the fuzzy flannel sheets were a real plus. We slept great! The bathroom has plush rugs and nice thick towels which added to the homey feel! Jim has his beautiful photos on the walls. We also loved viewing his digital photo frame. His photos are so good! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Birdhouse Apartment. We would love to go back and will share this calm and peaceful place with our friends. Heavenly Birdhouse

Both Jim and Minnie(Mini) were the perfect host from arrival until we left, from accommodations to resources, food and conversation. Jack, our pup was most comfortable. Gracias Jack and Minnie(Mini) went above and beyond what I anticipated from a host. Such a charming house and location, perfectly nestled in a back lot of their property . It was the best place to have a weekend of pure RnR, especially after competing in the local Ironman event. Jim and Minnie(Mini) were full of great positive energy, very kind and a wealth of knowledge. Jim has every aspect of how to enjoy your stay in Morro Bay on his website, making it so easy to find things to do, places to visit/eat that cater to every interest. It was definitely a godsend that we found this nice perfect retreat. It was meant to be. Oscar, Grace and little Jack 🐶 🐾
