Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at this property. Neither air-conditioning unit worked well, there is no wireless service, and the place was dirty when we checked in. We checked out an entire day early because of this situation.

Uniquely positioned lovely spot in the country on the Ogechee River. We’ve had two enjoyable stays and look forward to the next visit to Jewell.

Absolutely beautiful

Lovely quiet pet friendly location

Cute little cabin in a beautiful quiet location, short walk to the river or sit beside the relaxing pond. Pet friendly, our large dog was welcome here.

A Wonderful Stay

We really enjoyed our stay. Tiana and Patrick were great hosts. The 42 acre property is beautiful. The dogs loved spending time at the river. The history of the property and the area was a special aspect. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Secluded relaxing weekend getaway!

If you’re looking for a quiet cabin with a lot of land- look no further! We brought our 2 dogs and our baby and had a perfect relaxing weekend. Plenty of trails to explore. Tiana was a wonderful host. Everything was great!

Owners are great! The property is perfect if you want to get out of town or, like us, want to go to a rural, quiet place like home but where you don’t have all the chores to do! Close enough to food and groceries that you can choose how you want to do your stay.

Do not stay here. I booked this place for me and my groomsmen for the night before my wedding and it was awful. We ended leaving around midnight and heading over to a quality inn which was luxury compared to this place.Both doors were left open before we got there and it was a 95 degree humid day. Both sides of the cabin were over 90 when we got there. All there is to cool it off is 1 small stand up AC units in each side of the cabin which is no where near enough to keep it cool on a summer day anyway.The cabin had obviously not been cleaned in a while, spider webs inside everywhere, dead bugs in the showers and bathtub along with a family of live spiders which we took care of for the host, which was more than what they care to do for anyone staying there apparently. Contacted the host directly asking for a refund since the place was not as advertised and inhabitable and have got a response, a big surprise there. Not sure how this place is was a 9.6/10 when I booked but it must just be family friends reviewing it. (If the host would’ve owned up and responded to my request for a refund of 261 since it was their fault the place was falsely advertised and inhabitable, I probably would’ve chalked it up to just a honestly mistake other than the blatant ignorance of not at least sweeping the place when someone gives you 261 to stay there. But they seem to just want to take the money from you.)Oh also there’s no WiFi, so that’s also a lie.

The Quaint Cabin

The cabin is adorable nestled on 40 acres with a barn wedding venue tucked in the woods. The owners our absolutely the best! Brides you have so much space here and photo props that are so cool! The huge pond on the property is beautiful and there is a creek that runs the property. The cabin is decorated classy and this is a definite recommend!

The property had lots of space for our dogs to run around. The grounds were very well kept. The pond and River were great to fish and explore. So much to see and do even great star gazing at night could see the Milky Way from horizon to horizon. The owners were super friendly and told us a lot about the history of the property.

Lovely Wedding cottage that allowed Pets

Tiana and Patrick the owners are so gracious and wonderful !!! The wedding cottage was decorated lovely , private . We had two grandmothers who loved the rocking chairs in the porch and our 9 year old loved playing in the stream on the property . Our cat and dog loved the space as well ! This truly is a Jewell ! We will return .

Lovely stay away from it all but has a few small issues

We enjoyed our stay on the Jewel House property! Lots of outdoor space to explore and lots of historical buildings to see on site. This property is a wedding venue, so there is a lovely pond, an even barn, and a river overlook that is very nice. The little cabin is charming and beautifully decorated. It was comfortable for our little family and had almost everything we needed. The king bed was especially comfortable. The owner was friendly and brought us extra towels and space heaters when we requested them. The family dogs were also friendly but took a few minutes to warm up to us. I think we must have stayed in the “off” season, though, because there were a few little things that could have been better. The house was surface clean at first glance, but it obvious it hadn’t been deep cleaned in a while. Dirty corners, spider webs, missed spots in the bathrooms, etc. Some of the dishes in the cupboards and some of the cupboards themselves weren’t the cleanest, so I felt the need to wash things before we used them. There were no kitchen towels or potholders in the kitchen and no washcloths in the bathrooms. Overall though, we loved our stay and would definitely stay again when we’re in the area if the cleaning issues are addressed.
