Fox Den just listed with Red Barn Vacations. The home was five star-rated over many years of rentals. I'm sure we'll have a flood of five-star reviews on the website soon, but until then, we have no problem reassuring you: you're gonna love this home!

Fox Den is a *NEW CONSTRUCTION* modern A-frame cabin of our dreams! Not only is this lakeside cottage renovated with a stunning modern design, but it also boasts everything you need for the perfect Deep Creek vacation. Lakefront and dock? Check! Large outdoor fire pit with plentiful seating and outdoor lights? Definitely. Lower level bar cabinets with ping pong table, couch, and smart TV? Got it! New furnishings, comfortable beds, and open floor plan? Absolutely.

Location highlights: The home is lakefront, with the lake water laying a short walk in front of the home. The lakefront is shared with the neighbors, including a community dock structure, although the home does come with a dedicated dock slip. The walk to the lakefront takes about one minute. Fox Den is located in the central lake area, but tucked away along a quiet community road. Upon leaving the home, you will find Dutch's at Silver Tree, the lakefront Harbor Bar, along with the popular Honi-Honi bar about a 1-2 minute drive from the home, as well as the Arrowhead Market, a local conveience store with a liquor store, fabulous deli, and basic grocery/home needs, which is open 24-7.

Sleeping arrangements: There are no sleeper sofa or futons in this house. All sleeping arrangements are in beds. 1 king bed, 2 queens, 1 twin single bed and one twin bunk bed.

Gym/ Pool Access: This home comes with free access to the Community Aquatic Recreation Center (CARC)! This fitness and wellness complex, located in the central Deep Creek Lake area, offers a modern gym and a full-size indoor pool. The free CARC membership is available to all guests in the home for the duration of your stay, up to the home's full occupancy.

Dog Friendly Notice: Maximum of two dogs per reservations. A $175/non-refundable fee will be added for each dog. Dogs should be well-behaved, trained, and friendly; dogs with a history of aggression or destruction are not permitted. In order to comply with many of our home's rental insurance policies, breeds listed as most aggressive are banned for all rentals, regardless of individual training and temperament. If you are planning to bring a dog, please reach out to us upon booking to discuss your dogs breed to get final approval from our staff.

* Winter Advisory: Deep Creek is a mountainous region that experiences more snowfall and ice than you may be used to. Many roads and driveways can be steep. 4WD/AWD vehicles are advised in the winter months. *

The host/management group was very welcoming and helpful. The house was perfect for our family of 8 which included 6 adults and 2 children plus 2 dogs. The amenities were great. It was too cold to sit outside by the firepit but the fireplace indoors was nice! The location was perfect for us as well.

Top notch accommodations

Great location, clean home

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Fox Den! The house is very clean and located very centrally, easily accessible to all things on the lake. The only drawback was the steep descent to the dock, but that is fairly common on the lake. Would definitely recommend and we plan on coming back!

Location was lovely, and the fenced in yard was great, but I’m not sure If describe this property as lakefront compared to other Deep Creek properties I’ve rented. the lake is visible through the trees, and yes you get a dedicated boat slip, but it didn’t feel lakefront per se. Also be very mindful of how steep the steps are to the lakefront. Older dogs / people with health issues likely can’t navigate. That said, the property was very nice and clean, and the neighborhood was great. I just feel like it was a little bit of false advertising.

Excellent!

Our stay at Fox Den was great. The place was spotless when we showed up and there were no issues the whole weekend. The Red Barn team was very responsive when there were any questions. Would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely Home and Great Hosts!

The communication from the hosts was professional and frequent. The home was absolutely gorgeous and just newly renovated so very new all around. It fit our family of 9 very comfortably with 6 kids. The kids loved the view of the lake and the amenities were great.

Family vacation

The house is gorgeous and perfect for a family vacation. The basement was perfect for a parent and kids to have some space and their own entrance and bathroom. The yard was set up nicely to relax outside and enjoy the outdoors. Finally the company was a pleasure to work with and had excellent communication before, during, and after the stay. I highly recommend!

Amazing location and your pets will love the fenced yard

We stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay tremendously! The fenced yard was the purpose for booking but the home and location were very enjoyable. The fenced yard has tons of room for your furfriends to run and play and the lighted back yard was great for the fire pit! The location is super close to all the top spots at the lake. Additionally, the home is redone top to bottom! We will be back - this was by far one of our favorite rentals!

Beautiful home, clean, comfortable beds. The lake was further away than it was described... three steps from property line... but property included a very steep hill which was not manageable for our older relatives. And we could not see the lake very well from the home. Overall, a great weekend, but because of steep hill, we will not be back.

Weekend Vacation

This was nice house in a central location to restaurants, etc. It was listed as new construction but was an old house that had been completely renovated. Overall the house was pretty clean. The floors were a little dirty. This may have been because the place hadn’t been used in a while. The management responded quickly to a spill that was in the floor when we arrived and a toilet that was leaking.

Great Stay at Fox Den

My family and I just came back from a 3 night stay at Fox Den. The house is great and was a perfect place for our quick Spring Break vacation. It snowed and rained each day while we were there, but the house was a perfect place for our family of 6 (3 kids + 1 dog) to play and relax by the fireplace! Deep Creek State Park had plenty of trails for some great hikes and is 5 minutes from the house. The team at Red Barn Vacations were awesome and very helpful with information prior to our arrival and helped during our stay with some challenges with the heating units. They even came out to check on the thermostat remotes as one of them had a bad battery. Great service at 8pm on a Thursday night. We would definitely go back for a summer stay next time as the Deep Creek Lake area was great and will be using Red Barn Vacations as well.

Good but a little disappointing

We had a nice trip but a couple of things dampened the stay. We couldn’t raise the heat in the house using the thermostats, so reached out to see what our options are and didn’t get any help. We made it work, but it lead to some long, cold nights. Then we were woken up before 7:30 on a Saturday by lawn maintenance cleaning up leaves for 3 hours. The leaf blower was loud, and they were directly on the deck around 7:45.

The house is well appointed and centrally located. The house comfortably fit our party providing multiple rooms for people to be together or to have some alone time. The dock is down a steep hill which was difficult for the two older members in our group but having the two slips to tie our kayaks and paddle boards up to was key. Would rent again.

Nice property in a pretty area. The listing of “Lakefront“ and pictures shown led me to believe that the house was much closer to the lake than it actually was. We had to take a rather overgrown/not well maintained path down the steps to the lake. The house was nice and as depicted, however, there were absolutely no supplies left in the kitchen, such as eg a coffee filter or some plastic wrap or foil. I have not known this to be the case in other Vrbo properties. We left extra items such as foil and coffee filters for other guests coming after us. I think the sparseness might have something to do with the fact that the property is on the market for sale, which I also didn’t realize when I booked it. It is a nice place and we enjoyed ourselves.

The home was very well appointed. In the recent past it had been fully renovated with excellent furnishings. The bathrooms had nice fixtures and tile work. The kitchen was fully equiped including counter top appliances such as coffee pot, crockmpot, etc. and multitude of utensils. The grill on the deck and the hot tub were clean and easy to operate. There was a family room with TV on the lower level and on the first floor which provided plenty of room to spread out and enjoy different activities. The ping-pong table in the lower level family room was enjoyable. The AC/heater system was unusual - all three units had to have the same settings to run. The instructions were clear but I'm not sure the main room unit ever ran. Getting to and from the dock on the lake was a steep 50 step trek on stairsteps made out of lanscaping timbers separated by gravel. The decent was a little scary with no handrails and the climb was hard work. My rating would have been a "5" if the climb to and from the lake had been revealed in the property description. The two availableboat slips on the dock were a nice bonus and allowed multi-day boat rentals. A great location for a fun family vacation.

This property was perfect for our family of four plus our 2 dogs! Relaxing, beautiful views, quiet neighborhood! We couldn’t have asked for a better yard, perfect for our dogs and for fire pit fun. The house is beautiful! My only complaint is how hot the loft bedroom gets. We look forward to returning on our next lake trip! Thank you!
