The property was very clean and the view was spectacular. Only thing I think could be better is when you go to the open the first door it should swing in instead of out. Entry would be so much easier.

What a wonderful and clean place to escape to! I loved how the deck was securely closed off, making it perfect for keeping the dogs safe. The view of the river was absolutely stunning, and I really enjoyed relaxing with a cup of coffee on the rocking chair. Watching the train pass by added a charming touch to the experience. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again!

Clean and perfect for two people plus a dog. Yard was spacious for dog to play ball comfortably. Communication with host was good. I was silly thinking the key code was for the master lock(what realtor's use was how to get in) not the keypad on the main door. Loved hanging on the porch and listening to the trains go bye. It’s a great relaxing place. Would stay again.

The River House is great! The house is cute, comfortable, and clean. It had everything we needed. The view is amazing…the river, the rock, and the railroad. It is an active RR, but we actually enjoyed the trains. They didn’t disturb our sleep and were actually a neat feature. We had a very relaxing stay and definitely recommend it!

Surroundings were peaceful and relaxing. View was excellent. Recliners and beds were very comfy! Kitchen was well stocked and so roomy! My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower.

Birthday Relaxation

Visited here for my Fiancees birthday. This is the cleanest VRBO we ever rented. The house had everything we needed for a relaxing time. Very nice scenery. This place is awesome for a weekend getaway.

A very charming house with a great view of the Kentucky River. Wi-Fi access was great to have. Owners take very good care of the property and make sure that the house has the amenities needed for your stay. Really nice to have the option of launching kayaks from the dock or going down the street to the boat ramp.Would stay here again.

Beautiful place

The house and the view are gorgeous. The boat dock was great to sit and watch the river. Had some trouble keeping the shower at a steady temperature but would still 10/10 recommend

High Bridge

The property is really nice, it has everything you need. You can swim, fish, and hike, just steps out the door. We love it, and can't wait to go back.

A special little nook along the Kentucky river. Quiet and peace I have not experienced before. I didn't want to leave. All the amenities you need and being pet-friendly was a huge relief. I know my big guy enjoyed it as much as I did. A must to visit!

Anniversary Staycation

I’ve already recommended to friends and family, and we hope to make it back when it’s warmer to really be able to spend time outside and utilize the dock! It was such an easy and peaceful getaway, we loved watching the trains go by! No complaints :)

Relaxing cottage on the river

Great place to relax. Cottage has all the amenities you need to just chill. You will need a little chill after driving the road down and probably do not want to do it in the dark. We really enjoyed the beautiful area!

You've reached our favorite place in the world - the end of the road! Awaiting you is the beautiful Kentucky River and its palisades (exposed rock cliffs). As you enter the neighborhood keep an eye out for a happy black lab that loves to bark at and chase cars.

There's a great mix of long-time (generations!) locals who are a fixture of the Highbridge community and newcomers (like us) who live full or part-time along the river-bottom. It's our favorite getaway!

Your stay is very close to Highbridge, an active railroad bridge.

When built in 1877, High Bridge was the highest railroad trestle in the world. As part of the busiest north-south route in the nation, it is still used heavily today.

We don't notice the train noise anymore but if you're a light sleeper, consider a sound machine app on your phone or earplugs.

If you go for walk, know that the pups who live on the street are free and friendly, though they will likely do their job and bark at you.

There is a remote possibility of the road being flooded during the winter. We will of course be happy to work with you if you need to cancel your booking due to flooding. It doesn't always happen but it is part of the adventure of living next to a river!

House is on stilts and entered by stairs. Great room with amazing views includes living room, dining room and kitchen. Laundry is in the bathroom.

You'll have access to our entire .75 acre property including the large yard, patio, dock, and U-shaped gravel driveway.

Swimming off the dock is a great option when it’s warm enough!
