Great spot for families with kids. Owners are very friendly and had a lot of kid friendly activities. Cabins were very clean and comfortable.

We loved our stay. It was so chill and everything was so smooth and nice. Easy check-in, the cabin was clean and they anticipated our every need. Our son is older now, but it would be a great place to bring children with all the critters to see and space to explore. My only regret is that I didn't grab a jar of their home made salsa. I meant to and just forget.

This location was idyllic for being close to all that the area has to offer but to feel like you're in nature. We loved being able to wander around the property, having a camp fire, and seeing all the animals. Check in and out was super easy; everything was as expected and at times beyond expectations. We would gladly come and stay again.

A great location and set up. Cabin had everything we needed and was close to all the sights we wanted to see. Great host and timely communication. Very family friendly and the quietness of our offseason stay was a bonus.

Kitchen was equipped with everything needed to cook simple meals! Hosts were wonderful and accommodating! Clean and cozy! Will definitely come back!

The cabin was very roomy, very nice and clean. This place was awesome and the host was so helpful. We will definitely be staying here again. Its in a good location in regards to everything in the black hills. I would highly recommend this place!!

Stay at Campfire Cabins

We loved our stay here! The cabin was clean and the kids loved the loft area. There was a lot of things to do on the grounds that kept everyone entertained. Sarah was great about answering questions and was understanding about plan changes. We hope to come back and stay again

Great Black Hills cabins

Very clean, up-to-date and perfect size for our family of 5. I was happy with the kitchen items stocked for cooking and serving meals. Each of us enjoyed the cabin and would stay here again.

More than just a place to sleep

Cabins were clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The hosts were fantastic and let our kids help with feeding all the animals (calves, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, goats and cats). We will definitely be back!

So wonderful

We had such a lovely time. The kids really enjoyed catching rabbits. My 14yr old said it was the highlight of his trip. Only 30 minutes to Mt Rushmore and we also spent some time in spear fish canyon.

Fun, clean and relaxing cabins

The cabin was new, clean, inviting, well stocked with necessities and even thoughtful items that included fresh eggs, kitchen basic pantry items and snacks. The bed was comfortable and all linens were clean. Cabins were strategically placed around fire pit, games, and grill that provided a very relaxing environment. Fun animals including bunnies, goats, and cats roamed through the area proving great fun for the children. Convenient location to major attractions.

Amazing

Everything about this cabin exceeded our expectations, this was our first time staying in a property versus a hotel. Couldn’t have been any happier. The cabin is clean, fully stocked with extra toiletries and kitchen essentials. The owners were friendly and welcoming to all guests. My kids loved all the animals and had fun in the loft ( like there own space) Already trying to plan another vacation here next summer.

Family friendly

We LOVED our stay here. They have friendly animals and relaxing activities. Our family especially enjoyed the rabbit catching—even though we didn’t actually catch any, it was HILARIOUS to watch our kids try. The property managers are very easy to reach and accommodating as well. We had some fresh chicken eggs upon our arrival as well! The location is good if you want to be away from the city and enjoy nature, but it’s close enough to the city if you wanna go enjoy those types of activities too.

The best!!

We had a really wonderful stay at Campfire Cabins, thank you so much Sarah and Al. Our kiddos were completely sold as soon as they saw the baby bunnies and goats... Then they got to feed the calves! The cabins were so well stocked with cooking equipment, cooking essentials, condiments, sunscreen, mosquito spray, anything you would need. The welcome pack, including a local wine as well as fresh eggs and honey from the farm was awesome. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was excellent for home cooking needs. Fire pits and grills were well maintained and well used by our fam. The personal touch, with Sarah checking in and Al helping the kiddos for nightly calf feeding was really appreciated - thank you for a wonderful stay!

Highly recommend staying here! The owners are wonderful, property is beautiful, very clean and well kept, and the friendly goats that welcomed us upon check in quickly became something we looked forward to see daily.

Loved our stay at this perfect little cabin in South Dakota. In a state where you want to be outdoors as much as possible it was perfect for coming home and resting up for the next day. My kids favorite part was the set of nets that were provided at the bunny catching station and multiple visits from Rocket the cat. Also provided were things you need to have a little fire going and the smores kits provided were a special touch. There frozen pizzas and ice creams that you could Venmo or leave money in a drop box in a shared laundry building. And if the chickens are having a good week you might even get a little carton of eggs in your fridge as a welcome gift. Truly the the thought and little touches make this place stand out from other places we looked at and the cleanliness, great communication with the owners and proximity to pretty central to a lot of those South Dakota staples

One of the best VRBO experiences we've ever had. Everything was perfect for our family of 4 (kids under 12). The kids loved the loft area and it felt like 2 separate bedrooms. Kitchen and bathroom were very clean and cabin was stocked with essentials. The kids really enjoyed the animals every night. We will definitely stay here again if in the area and highly recommend it
