When Disaster Strikes… Book a Stay That Adds a Little Extra Chaos! So, picture this: my wife, our dog, and our 5-week-old newborn (aka the world's tiniest sleep terrorist) were all displaced due to an accident in our home. In our hour of need, we found what appeared to be a lifeline — a full house in Roswell that accepted dogs! Great news, right? For the low, low price of a used car for the month of July! Day 2 (July 4th):America was celebrating independence, and we were celebrating… a gas leak! Atlanta Gas Light came to the rescue while we waited anxiously with a baby and a dog trying to out-panic each other.I reached out to the management company hoping for support, empathy, maybe even a fruit basket. What I got was:"While your reservation is nonrefundable, we don’t want you to stay if the conditions are unsatisfactory."Translation: “Feel free to leave… we’ll give you back 75% if you check out by Sunday at 10am.” I'm no math wizard, but I think that means we’d be paying 3x per night for 3 nights vs. the originally booked rate for a house with a side of methane.More issues:Power outage - 7/21/25Door lock broken x2 - 7/20/25 and 7/22/25Ants in the common living area - 7/22/25Garbage disposal brokenGrass and lawn uncut upon arrival (mid-calf height grass)No hand soap, paper towelsRoof repairs occurred during arrivalRoof leaking into sun room due to insects or rodents
