Our stay at Fort Williamson was amazing! The uniqueness of each of the buildings for the “old west” vibes was very cool down to every little detail! The property was also super clean! We will for sure be staying here again!

Fun place to stay

The only "jail" we would want to spend 2 nights in again. Loved the set up, had everything we needed. Great location, close to everything we were doing in that area. The host provided so much useful information about the area that really helped us plan for things near by.

Super fun place to stay

Very close to Glacier National Park. Very unique, well decorated, comfy king size bed, kitchen fully equipped so we could make breakfast in morning. Super clean and a great shower and bathroom. Only a few minutes from downtown Columbia Falls. The only downside is that the property is close to Hwy 20 so you hear the traffic starting at 6 am, but evenings were very quiet. Definitely will stay here agin.

Sheriff jail in Fort Williamson

It’s odd to say a “jail” was welcoming, but that’s exactly what it was. From the jail cell/bedroom to the kitchen and even the bathroom, EVERYTHING was outstanding. The Williamson’s did an absolutely amazing job decorating this “jail”. The kitchen was well stocked and the memorabilia was great! This was such a unique and fabulous experience and we’re so glad we decided to stay here. Book it now and you’ll be glad you did. You won’t be sorry.

Perfect Getaway

Fort Williamson is a delight to say the least. Location was superb along with upkeep of grounds and cleanliness of cabins. The hosts go above and beyond to make you feel right at home and offer multiple amenities during your stay. I cannot recommend these rentals enough. We will be back in the near future and have already recommended your place to many friends looking to visit the Glacier area. Thank you for a 10/10 stay!!

Fun in jail

Stayed for two nights. Great facilities, all like new, very clean. Kitchen great for breakfasts. Location excellent to quickly get to the national park. Our 9 year old had great fun locking us up, or our licking him up, along with the handcuffs. The ball and chain was a nice touch as well. We have literally traveled all over the world that was one of the most unique stats we ever had!

Everything was well maintained and current for an enjoyable stay.

Unique, quiet property minutes from the West Glacier entrance. Everything was well maintained(appeared to be recently renovated) with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Even the bed was comfortable! I can't remember the last time I had a full night sleep. The only complaint was the lack of an iron. To be honest, it was not an issue. Whitefish MT has the restaurants. Buffalo Cafe was great! This was the best vacation we have taken.

My husband and I enjoyed the jail. It was in the perfect location to get to everywhere we wanted to go. The hosts were so thoughtful with having small things available if we forgot.

Pleasant surprise!

This place was fantastic! New, with all the amenities! The owners are terrific! The bed and pillows were comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed! It was impeccably clean!!

AMAZING!!!!

Our stay was so wonderful. Everything we clean comfortable and peaceful! It was not hard to find and was in a prime location to go to Glacier National Park, White Fish, etc. The owners were friendly with lots of suggestions of places to see and good restaurants. A Great place to stay!!!

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time at Fort Williamson's Sheriff Jail! The place itself was immaculate and had plenty of essentials for cooking and grilling. The location was convenient as it was close to activities both inside and outside Glacier National Park. The owners were very friendly and accommodating as well. We would highly recommend Fort Williamson Glacier Vacation Rentals for anyone who is visiting the area.

Best overnight stay in the clink!

Our stay at the Sheriff's Jail was extremely comfy, quiet and quirky. One of a kind accommodations in such a fun Western themed setting and so close to fabulous kayaking and the scenic wonders of our great state. We greatly enjoyed our time at Fort Williamson and wouldn't hesitate to go behind bars again. Thanks for everything!

The BEST airB&B hands down!

We booked the Sheriffs Jail upon a recommendation of friends who stayed at the Saloon, and are so glad we listened to their advice. This is absolutely the best air B&B because of the fun decor, cleanliness of the accommodation, and the helpfulness of our hosts Robert & Jennifer, who went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Also the drive to Glacier National Park is just up the road.

Gateway to Glacier!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Fort Williamson. The Sherrif-Jail was a perfect spot for us to use as base camp to Glacier and also come back to and relax. Very comfortable and Robert and Jenni were awesome hosts and very helpful. The location is perfect to get an early start into GNP being only 15min away. Next time we plan a trip out that way we will for sure have this place at the top of the list.

Ft. Williamson is an ideal location for your home base as you explore the beauty of Glacier National Park. Each building is clean, beautifully decorated according to theme, and well-appointed with everything you need for a pleasant stay! Jennifer and Robert are helpful and welcoming, providing a wealth of useful information about the area, activities and tours, and places to eat weeks before you arrive. We would stay here again and would highly recommend Ft. Williamson to anyone who plans to visit this area!

Really enjoyed my first stay in jail. Everything was clean and spotless. The hosts are great and very accommodating. Would certainly stay in this jail again.

Clean and Well Stocked Cabin

Full kitchen was well stocked and clean. Bathroom was large and bed was comfortable. Owners sent a great list of restaurants and things to do. The jail motif was cool. Close to Glacier entrance and whitefish.

This Old Western Town lodging was a gold mine of a find !

Gracious Hosts: If ever going to jail may it be Fort Williamson’s as it was evident that a lot of thought and time went into this relaxing, clean, comfortable, well stocked with amenities location. From the time of booking thru our actual stay Robert and Jennifer were upfront, courteous and kind which made our trip thoroughly enjoyable. The old western town flare of their lodging options is outstanding as well as their decor!

We are a friendly couple that loves to Host. We originally stumbled into Hosting because of a loft we had above our garage. Well that loft ended up being a hit so we added 2 more additional spaces for guests to rent at that property. As Hosting continued to grow on us over the years, we decided it was time to expand. In May of 2019 we broke ground to begin the building of Fort Williamson Glacier Vacation Rentals. We completed building by June of 2020 and were able to open our doors to begin accepting guests. Fort Williamson Glacier Vacation Rentals offers unique tiny home cabin lodging in the setting of an "Old West Town". The different themed units are a Sheriff 's Jail, Roses Place, Joe's Saloon, Madam Woman's Inn, and Kim's Trading Post. Each of these cabins are uniquely decorated with antiques to reflect the true theme of the cabins. In Jan 2024 we again made plans to expand and set out on that mission to build on our 33 acre Columbia Mountain mountain side property across the highway from Fort Williamson. By Jan 2025 we completed the building of Chug A Lug Springs, our new home with a rental apartment above the garage right at the base of Columbia Mountain. Chug A Lug Springs is a family friendly space so with Fort Williamson and Chug A Lug Springs being close to each other, about 1/4 mile apart, makes it convenient for larger groups to book seperate lodging close to each other. Both of our properties are conveniently located along US Hwy 2 between Columbia Falls, Montana and Glacier National Park. The Park’s west entrance is only 15 minutes away. The Glacier International Airport is only 15 minutes away. The town of Columbia Falls, that has everything you will need is only minutes away. Downtown Whitefish is about 20 minutes away.

Our Cabins are clean and comfortable with fully stocked kitchens. The atmosphere at Fort Williamson is simply awesome. We have a Fantastic Central Location as our properties are conveniently located right along US Hwy 2 between Columbia Falls, Montana and Glacier National Park. The Park’s west entrance and west Glacier Amtrak station is only 15 minutes away. The Glacier International Airport is only 15 minutes away. The town of Columbia Falls, that has everything you will need is just minutes away. Additionally we are attenuative onsite hosts which is very rare to find these days. We are always nearby or onsite just in case something is needed.
