Italian old world charm with amazing view near Cinque Terre CITRA 011002-LT-0160
Come home to relax at this unique, tranquil, insta-worthy getaway after spending days at crowded tourist and beach areas of Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Lerici/San Terenzo. The house is minutes (by car, bike, bus) from all those areas yet the Italian old world charm of the stone walls and Arcola historical village will let you escape from the tourist chaos. Soak in the amazing views/sunrises/sunsets from the private terrace and patio as you enjoy breakfast, dinner, a glass of wine or the Italian sun.
The 75m2 house was built around 1700 and has 3 bedrooms (one is accessed through another and is also an office with a desk and chair) and one bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped to make meals and has a dining table with seating for 5 people. There are split type ductless air-conditioners/heaters in the living room, bedroom #1 and bedroom #2. There is also radiator heat in all rooms. There is a private patio on the ground floor and private terrace on the 1st floor - both with amazing views. Outdoor furniture for the patio and terrace consists of outdoor dining tables/seating, chairs, sofa, yoga mats for the terrace, etc There is also a bbq grill (wood or charcoal) in the yard/garden. The property also has private yard/garden area with sun loungers that guests will have access to. The house has 3 TVs and WI-FI throughout. The house has an independent entrance and is one of 2 units in the building.
The house is located in a small enclave of approximately 8 houses with a common path connecting all the houses to the street. The neighborhood exudes old world charm as most of houses are hundreds of years old and built of stone and surrounded by countryside and some small vineyards. The only street through the neighborhood is characteristic of Italian hilltop villages - narrow and windy with entrances to homes right on the street!
The immediate neighborhood is mostly residential but within the actual historical/medieval village there is a bar/pizza restaurant. The village is a 4 minute walk (from the house) down the scenic narrow street! If you walk another 11 minutes through the village you reach the commercial part of Arcola where you can find other restaurants (including a great pizza restaurant and Antica Osteria Del Ponte which is very good), PENNY (grocery store), a COOP (very small version of the large supermarket that's all over Italy), pharmacy, bakery, a pasticceria, etc. You can drive to this area in a few minutes as it's only 1 mile/1.6 km from the house.
As you can see from my photos, the historical/medieval village is very photogenic/insta-worthy and is a must see while staying at my house.
Please see my photos for all the easily accessible (15-40 minute drives from the house) popular destinations nearby - Cinque Terre, San Terenzo, Lerici, Tellaro, Sarzana, Porto Venere, Fivizzano. The popular Versilia area with its beach resorts and nightclubs is a 30-50 minute drive from the house.
My house is also a 50-90 minute drive from many other very scenic and popular beach areas north of Cinque Terre - Levanto, Rapallo, Portofino as well as Tuscan towns such as Lucca and San Gimignano. Florence is a 1.5 hour drive away. You can also reach these other areas via trains that can be accessed at La Spezia Centrale, Vezzano Ligure, Arcola and Sarzana train stations. La Spezia Central is a 18 minute drive, Vezzano Ligure station is a 6 minute drive (35 minute walk), Arcola station is a 5 minute drive (15 minute walk) and Sarzana station is a 12 minute drive. Taxi service (no Uber in this area) is also available to both stations to/from the house.
My Italian friends help manage the property and will be assisting me with guest interaction. They all live nearby so when guests are staying at the property they will be available to quickly help with with any questions, needs or issues that arise during your stay. They all speak Italian and English.

Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Roger Miller
I'm a very active person - running, mt biking, hiking/backpacking, playing tennis, traveling, watching sporting events, foodie. I'm also into photography (my IG is unfiltereduniverse) - the prints in my properties were taken by me so if you are interested in purchasing a photo (including photos not on display in my properties) let me know. I may be setting up an Airbnb Experience taking people hiking/backpacking as I'm very knowledgeable of most wilderness areas and hiking trails in the Pacific Northwest (which are some of the most amazing wilderness areas in the world). Hopefully with the purchase of an Airbnb in the Cinque Tere area of Italy I will become more knowledgeable of the Alps, Dolomites, etc.
Por qué eligió esta propiedad
I've been traveling to the Cinque Terre area for over 20 years and fell in love with it on the very first trip over the pond. It's one of the top 5 most beautiful areas in the world in my opinion. It's been a life goal to purchase a truly old world charm Italian property in the area that I could personally use as a base to explore Italy and Europe...as well as give others the unique opportunity to enjoy this amazing area in an authentic Italian house. The Cinque Terre area is also uniquely special to me as it (ironically) also lies on the NW coast of Italy just like Seattle/WA lies on the Pacific NW (PNW as we call it) coast of the United States. Both have similar National Geographic/insta-worthy scenery everywhere you look, similar weather and a similar lush green landscape!
Qué distingue a esta propiedad
The minute I walked into this house and saw the old world charm oozing from the characteristic stone walls and then walked out onto the terrace to see the view (see cover photo on ad) of the Arcola historical/medieval village and surrounding mountains and valley, I knew this was my home away from home in Italy! And if the property itself wasn't enough to to sell me...the central peaceful location would put if over the top...I can hike/walk or run along a scenic country road to a circuit trail and be at the San Terenzo and Lerici beaches in 2.5 miles; be hiking through Cinque Terre in 30-40 minutes; be in Florence in 1.5 hours and much much more.
