Mike Washington was the host and this was completely screwed up from the beginning. We had booked a last minute trip for New Year’s Eve. Paid $4500 for the trip, of which $1800 was for lodging. We messaged the host 2 days before traveling and no response. Tried several times with nothing. After landing in Mexico, we tried again and on the way to the resort we contacted vrbo customer service. They found our reservation and contacted the host. Still when we got to the resort, they had no reservation for us. We ended up finding a phone number for the host after all of the ‘resort numbers listed’ were not in service and called Mike. He was very nice and helped us tremendously although we weren’t able to stay where we had originally booked (Villa La Valencia) he called the Hilton property in a close by town and made us a reservation there (utilizing his Hilton Vacation Club Points) and had mentioned that he still hadn’t gotten paid from Expedia. He did tell us that he was reimburse us for the taxi to get to the Hilton (Cabo Azul) but even though I sent him a screenshot of the receipt he still hasn’t reimbursed us for that. Also to mention we did tell him that there was a $360 difference between the two hotels and that we expected that to be reimbursed he didn’t address that either. Overall, the Hilton property was nice even though we didn’t get checked until almost 5pm (we were at the original hotel at 10am) so it was definitely a day of vacation waisted) we made the best of it.
