Built in 1850, this location offers modern craftsmanship and comfort while maintaining historic character and charm. Beautifully furnished and light-filled, we’re located right smack in the heart of Capitol Hill!

A lower staircase with a locked gated entrance will lead you into a very comfortable living room area with two coaches, hardwood floors with oriental rugs, a fireplace, 50-inch flat-screen Smart HD TV, a work desk and a table for dining. The fully equipped kitchen includes all the amenities – oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc.

There are two (2) bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the second with a twin bed. Fresh linens, pillows, blankets and comforters are provided. We can also accommodate a fourth guest by placing an additional twin bed in the adjoining back insulated porch room area if you require this. Please notify us in advance. No extra fee will be charged.

There is one full bathroom equipped with fresh towels, shampoos/conditioners, shower gels, soap and a hairdryer. Please note - access to the bathroom is through the second twin bedroom.

Central air-conditioned. Free Wifi, Direct TV w/ HBO & Showtime, a washer/dryer and a FREE parking permit for street parking. Added bonus is the use of the gorgeous landscaped backyard which includes patio furniture and BBQ.

Conveniently located 3 blocks from the US Capitol Building, and 3 blocks to Eastern Market. Easy walking to 15+ area restaurants, supermarkets, liquor stores and area shops. 2 min walk to Bus Stops, Bike rentals & 7 min walk to either Capitol South or Eastern Market Metro subway stops.

Perfect location in Capitol Hill

Stayed here with my wife and toddler for two nights. It had everything we needed and was walkable to everything in Capitol Hill. Parking was easy enough as well. Host was very responsive and accommodating as well.

Awesome Location

My only warning to others is that the bathroom is located by walking through the small bedroom area where the single bed is located. It is fine for families and friends who don't mind the intrusion by others. But if you are with those whom can't be disturbed to get to the bathroom, this may not work for you.

A week’s stay on independence ave.

Our place was in a nice neighborhood with easy walking access to restaurants and grocery stores. It was very clean and the decor was warm and traditional. Being a below ground level apartment it was a bit dark and only had one small operable window in the bathroom. At night it was uncomfortably warm. The host was friendly and enthusiastic however at times it was difficult to get a response from her in a timely fashion.

August Stay

We had a great time staying here. The location was perfect for us to go to a baseball game and to explore the Smithsonians and the Capitol. Christie was very accomodating for us. The place was clean and exactly what we needed.

Charming apartment in a fantastic central location

We are a family of four and we stayed in this lovely apartment for three nights. The location was perfect, a beautiful, peaceful area but within walking distance of all the main sights. There are lots of restaurants within a 5 minute walk and also some grocery shops nearby. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Communication with the owner was excellent and the additional bed we requested was set up and ready for us upon our arrival. We loved our stay here and would be very happy to stay again if we come back to Washington.

Capitol Hill Apartment

The property was as expected. Lovely location, in/out as expected. Dishes and silverware were not clean. I killed several ants in the bathroom that came out from under the vanity. Biggest negative was the gold coffee pot basket which was coated inside with old coffee grounds and a thick layer of mold. I didn’t wash it and didn’t use it so you could see for yourself what I observed. I would stay again but not without assurances that it was cleaner than this time. The queen mattress was not very firm and seemed not to be level, but it may have been the floor. But still a charming place. Needs a little love.

Location, location, location!

Amazing location, just a few minutes’ walk to Capitol / Library of Congress / Supreme Court! My kids were thrilled with all we could see and do. Very quick walk to Trader Joe’s and Eastern Market, so easy to grab food for meals. Apartment was clean and well maintained. It’s very small and all of the rooms connect, so there’s not a lot of privacy (e.g. you have to walk through the main bedroom and the small converted walk-in / second bedroom to get into the bathroom), but it worked out fine and the price was right. The owner is super responsive, friendly, and helpful! Street parking was easy to find and a visitor’s permit is provided.

All round great spot

Well located, clean and welcoming spot. Beds super comfortable. Close to points of interest and stores for basic supplies as well as cafes and taverns. Christie was easy to connect to and super helpful. A great place to stay in DC.

Family DC trip

Christie’s place in Capitol Hill is wonderful! Very clean and nicely decorated. Location can’t be beat and host was very responsive. Only thing I wish was more of a description of the rooms. One room was a converted porch, which worked for my 11yr old but definitely got a bit chilly at night. He didn’t mind since he had his own space. Overall I highly recommend this rental!

Great stay

Excellent location, perfect for my family of 4. the kitchen is a bit tight and you have to go through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom but those were both more than made up for by the location and convenience. The place had everything we needed.

Wonderful Stay

Lovely property in a beautiful neighborhood, just a couple blocks from the US Capitol. We parked the car when we arrived and never had to drive anywhere again. All of the sites we wanted to visit were within a reasonable walking distance. Christie was a wonderful host who checked in with us and made sure we had everything we needed. She was also very responsive to any questions we had. If you're wanting to visit all of the sites around the US Capitol area (Smithsonian museums, White House, US Capitol, all the monuments at the National Mall, etc.) this is a perfect place to stay. Thank you for everything Christie!
