Weekend trip

The hotel was in a convenient location for our weekend trip. It is showing signs of wear and needs a good cleaning. The elevator didn’t work when we arrived so we had to carry our bags up 3 flights. Room was adequate. Carpet needs cleaned. There were loud guests. Management handled the situation. No breakfast or coffee (except a small coffee maker in the room). Would stay in another place next time.

Listing not as advertised

I filtered our VRBO searches to only include properties with a hot tub, and I specifically booked because of this and the fact it said there was a KING bed. The hot tub was not available and hasn’t been for over a year according to hotel staff. The room we were put in had two queen beds which would be fine if we had planned on having to sleep in separate beds. The host really needs to update the listing description to accurately reflect the available amenities so that travelers can make informed decisions on where to book. I’m not happy with the host and their refusal to offer a full refund before my trip, when I found out the hot tub was not available. I feel like I was duped into an overpriced basic hotel when I could’ve found a nicer place with a hot tub like we really wanted for our vacation.

My stay at the Sonesta in Summerlin was terrible. The hotel is extremely run-down, with filthy carpets, trash left in the hallways, and rooms that were not properly cleaned.I had to change rooms twice because of multiple maintenance and sanitation issues. The refrigerator did not work in the first room. In the second room, sewage water backed up into the sink because of a plumbing problem in the room above, leaving the entire room smelling like feces. The third room was also dirty and had plumbing problems, the bathtub would not drain.Having serious issues in three separate rooms shows that this was not an isolated problem. The condition of the hotel was unacceptable, unsanitary, and far below what guests should expect. I would not recommend staying here.

Keeping in mind that this is not a 5 star hotel, the hotel is minimalist when it comes to dinning as there are restaurants next door. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was approximately 338 sq. ft, 2 queen beds and a balcony, clean as much as could be, no foul smells considering animals are welcomed. The room carpet was heavily stained. I did not use any other amenities like the pool conference rooms or gym but the interior surroundings were very pleasant. I would stay here again without hesitation.
