Hope you love fishing, Whetstone Bay has some fine fishing, and do take that old gold fish since pets are allowed. It's not possible to run out of exciting things to do near Whetstone Bay; what a wonderful place for camping it is. The helpful operators of the campground and loads of exciting things to do have many folks coming here. Needless to say there are restrooms here. Whetstone Bay is a magnificent site for boating, and a good bicycle ride here is always enjoyable. You may get bait and tackle here, and the best way to enjoy the wilderness here is in a canoe. Some activities here at Whetstone Bay are relaxing, and playing golf, so you won’t get bored. Enjoy golfing here; going for a good hike is always exciting here. Whetstone Bay has some delightful cabins, and when the sun is out at Whetstone Bay you may always take pleasure in the weather at the picnic area. Everybody ought to go camping for a couple of days from time to time, and Whetstone Bay in South Dakota is precisely what you need. Camping in South Dakota is such a fun thing to do. Burke Lake Recreation Area is worth stopping at if you're at Whetstone Bay, and Truesdell Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at. If by chance you have a boat, Dock 44 Marina is a great marina.

We stayed here during a stretch of extreme heat, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. While the basic housekeeping seemed okay and the motel has an older, rustic charm, the room's air conditioner was completely unable to cool the space—to the point where it was actually warmer inside the room than it was outside. Because the room was not comfortable or safe for a full night's sleep, we had to leave in the middle of the night and find alternative accommodations, ending up not staying for our booked three nights. On Day 2, management did offer to switch our room, which we appreciated, but since we had already found somewhere else to stay, we politely requested a refund for the remaining nights. Unfortunately, our follow-up messages regarding the refund were never answered. Given the extreme heat issues and the lack of communication on the refund, we wouldn't feel comfortable returning or recommending this property in its current condition.
