The home was very clean and accomodating for my husband and I. The neighborhood felt safe and secure. Only thing that was missing was a TV! My husband was somewhat disappointed, but overall we enjoyed our stay!

Great little spot!

This was a great little clean spot that was just what my family needed. The location had everything that was advertised and was in good condition. We are thankful we choose this getaway!

Family Time

Hinkle Retreat was perfect for our needs. Lots of family visiting and game playing. Home was super clean and beds were comfy. 8 minutes to Fort Cavazos. Should I travel to Killeen again I would certainly book this site.

The house on Hinkle was very clean and comfortable. The home is very close to the expressway and shopping and restaurants are in close proximity. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. Bring your groceries and cook until your heart is content.The master bed was too firm for our taste, however, we corrected that with a mattress topper.Overall this was a perfect home-away-from-home for my family. There is a large backyard and a mostly quiet and established neighborhood. Please be aware, (at no fault to the owners), the home next door is an eyesore. There are mattresses and a lot of junk in the front, side and back of that home. Those neighbors also have three Chihuahuas. The dogs bark and howl all night, every night. My husband and granddaughter were also attacked by the dogs. The owner moved without haste and only called the dogs to come inside; they did not respond. It was not until we threatened to harm the dogs if they bit either of us that the owner really showed interest.

This cozy little spot was great! It is as clean as was advertised with the exception of the couch, the throw pillows and the area rug. I had to remove the covers and wash them because they were visibly unclean and we could not use it comfortably. Same with the throw pillow covers. Nothing I could do about the rug. It's possible that a host would not see this if they were just walking through to make sure things were where they left them. Kitchen is VERY well stocked with all you need to cook your butt off. Beds, sinks, showers, floors, houseware and all linens were very clean! LOVE the laundry set up, thank you! I didn't want to mention this, because it is out of the control of the owner/host, but the neighbors are living their best Sanford and Son life, with no care to how they bring the neighborhood down. It makes you feel like you're staying in a really shabby spot, despite how great the block really is. About their dogs- even dog lovers like us will want to hurt them! They rushed at my daughter when she tried to go out to the yard and sit in the patio set. Seems like they will bite. Dogs yelped all night, and all day and the neighbors gave no care.They're pretty gross. SO, if you don't want to potentially get arrested for hurting a slob or a dog, look elsewhere. BUT, you'd be missing out on a cozy little place. Also, the NO TV thing is NOT a thing. Makes for boring nights once you've exhausted the great bunch of boardgames they have. Can't even drown out the yelping.

Almost as expected.

The house was nice, and we enjoyed our stay. However, the very first day, my husband took a shower and cut his hand badly when he reached for the handrail and a sharp piece of rusty metal sliced through his skin. The handrail had rusted through, and it was as sharp as a razor blade. He was not a happy camper. On a positive note, the house was clean and inviting. The beds were comfortable, and we loved the books and games in the closet. The location is convenient and close to the Army post. We contacted the manager with a question about the Wi-Fi and she got back to us immediately and was very helpful.
