All the enjoyment and fun in the city but away from the hustle and bustle! Right side of a duplex- own entrance and driveway. Cozy 2 bed/1 bath duplex home. You also have free roam of the downstairs- full unfinished basement which has a washer and dryer and also a cozy reading/ music/ stationary/ board game area. Upscale and safe neighborhood in Auburn with a fire pit and chairs and patio table and chairs. Dog friendly! Enjoy local favorite events such as the balloon and art festival and fireworks celebration! Ice skating, roller skating, flea markets and farmers markets close by as well! Hiking and fishing too! Come kick up your feet, relax and have a blast! To keep our prices low your stay does not include use of the air conditioner. If you would like to use the air conditioner during your stay it will be $50 each day used.

Towels and linen were sub standard, nothing matched. Up charge to use ac unit was unexpected especially considering the price of the rental. I would not recommend this unit to future guests under these conditions.

Although I am loathed to ever leave a bad review I feel that future renters should be forewarned. The photos look nice but are deceiving. The place reeked of DOG right down to the pee stains in the bedroom. With the air conditioner running for three days the air cleared a bit. The air fresheners only tried to mask the smell and created allergic reactions. Not sure there was a mattress in the main bedroom as the bed felt like a box spring with every coil visible and no padding. Stove Burners and oven crusted with burned debris, mini blinds broken leaving exposure to outside viewers. Safety issues: no smoke or carbon monoxide alarms, no fire extinguisher, no left side bannister on stairs, no safety bar on shower and no first aid kit. All dinnerware, although quite pretty, were outlined in gold metal and not safe for use in microwave. Not only a fire hazard but potentially a severe burn issue. No signage stating not to use in microwave. Fortunately we ate all meals out and didn’t need the microwave. We could have left but the extra expense of multiple hotel rooms made it inconvenient and expensive so we toughed it out for three days. On a positive note: the location was great for us and the neighborhood was lovely and quiet.

This 2 bedroom duplex was very conveniently close to town. There was plenty of room to spread out and even had a little reading nook in the basement. It was very homey..

Mixed feelings

We recently stayed at this duplex and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the owner was very responsive and quick to reply to messages, which we appreciated.However, we ran into an issue with the cooling situation. We reached out the day before our arrival due to an expected heat wave, asking if there were fans or air conditioning available. The owner said there were two fans and mentioned she could bring down an extra fan and the hose for a portable A/C unit.After our first day — which was very hot and humid, reaching up to 87 degrees inside — we followed up and requested the A/C hose. At that point, we were told it would be an extra 50 per night to use it, which was never communicated beforehand. The extra fan was also never delivered.It was disappointing to be potentially charged extra for something that wasn’t clearly outlined in advance, especially during such uncomfortable conditions. Overall, while the place had potential and communication was initially good, the unexpected extra charge that they wanted for a/c, even after it was offered to us and lack of follow-through made the stay less enjoyable than we had hoped.

Visiting family local, up from Massachusetts.

Stay was exactly what we expected. Nice and quiet house. Across the street from a nice quiet ball park. Had fun feeding the local crows (sorry if they haunt the house now waiting for donut holes) Had absolutely no problems at all. Communication was stellar. Only thing that could have been considered a problem that really wasn’t I already addressed with the manager. Just had to do with handicap accessibility. Nothing “dangerous” like I said just a recommendation for the future. Definitely a good stay in a good area of the town. Laundry facilities and everything. Made for a very good stay. Thank you again !!!

Cute spot

Cute little spot, reasonably clean and having the pups be able to join was a bonus. We were up there on a really hot/humid weekend and with no a/c it was definitely tough. There were fans, but it was still pretty hot.

Not that horrible, not that great

We had to change dates because the owner has the property listed on multiple sites. When we booked and paid for the days we wanted an email was sent saying that someone had just booked it right before we did. I expected a refund, but nothing was done. We contacted the owner to see what was going on and she says to cancel the trip. VRBO will then keep a percentage of the charge! We decided to change to another week since we will be going to that area about once a month so it would be nice to have a house instead of a hotel. Checked in this time with no problem. The first issue that we had was no AC at all in the house in the hottest days of the year for Maine. I can live with it though. Just give me some fans and we can open windows. Some of the windows don't have screens! I didn't notice this until late in the night when there were bugs flying around. That kills the idea of getting some kind of air flow through the house. The next issue was that there was no internet available. We were staying for about 5 days so we needed to get some work done. I reset the router a few times and could see the WiFi that was specified in the check-in message, but could not get internet. We had to use data on our phones to do anything including watching TV. This was never resolved even when I called about it. The last big issue was the second day we returned around 3:00 in the afternoon and the driveway was full of cars and people unloading suitcases. Sure enough, it was double booked!
