We came for a wedding with my elderly parents and then stayed for a couple extra days. The property worked great for my parents and we loved the enclosed yard for our dog It was perfect for our needs. We would stay again. It was peaceful and super relaxing. Loved our stay.

It was a super cute cottage with space for four of us to stay comfortably. We took off a star because the laundry and arcade cabinet cost more than we expected and there was a long list of intimidating rules like not moving any furniture or touching things. There was a bit of musty smell because it's near a lake but otherwise the house is impeccably clean. The host was also very quick and proactive to communicate, even offering to walk me though setting up the TV/Xbox. Overall 9/10 stay.

The pictures do not do this place justice. It’s a very nice place. Well stocked with everything you need. Michael was wonderful and getting back to me when I had questions.

Nice home, accommodated our group well, great location. I felt communication was a bit tricky as host likes to use WhatsApp and texting rather than VRBO where all people staying can see the messages. Lots of documents to fill out before checking in, which is listed, but is a hassle and involves downloading, filling out gobs of information and sending it back. It all worked out but it was a bit more work than the usual VRBO rental.

Mike the host was wonderful & very accommodating from the start! He even asked what time we would arrive so he could turn on the heat ahead of time, which made such a difference! The home was very cozy & had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I was also very happy that I was able to bring my service dog without any issues. He kindly allowed us a late checkout with a fee, but it was absolutely worth it!!! We truly didn’t want to leave, it was a wonderful stay! Would totally come back !

We had a great time here. The beds were comfortable, the lakes were perfect, and everyone was so nice. I definetly recommend Beach one which is within walking distance. There were 2 playgrounds and a concession stand there as well. We were a short drive from Lego land and it was just an hour to Newark from where we took the train to NYC. Would love to stay here again.

Good weekend getaway with the dogs

For the dogs: our dogs enjoyed the big fenced-in backyard. There's also a HUGE fenced-in dog run a few minutes drive away. For the humans: My wife and I enjoyed the gaming options (Xbox, Playstation, and an arcade machine). There's a nice little town a few minutes drive away, with a supermarket, CVS, and decent coffee and food options.

comfortable cottage

brought my son and his friend to the area for a mtb race... needed to change my existing reservation because of an improper listing and found Mike's place on a very short notice. he was very accommodating and got us set up with his place very quickly. would book his house again.

Wonderful stay

The cottage was wonderful, like staying at home! Entertainment was the best, with a huge TV loaded with all the games and movie and television links (Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video). Kitchen has great coffee and water in the fridge for guests, which was much appreciated. Fun area, good restaurants, nice hiking in Waywayonda State Park. A great overall experience!!

Great house to experience the country with some long time friends. Lots to see and do if you want to or just relax and talk around the firepit! Mike was a great host and I would come back again.

Great place to stay

I took my wife, 2 tweens, and our lab for a weekend ski trip and stayed at the cottage. Perfect size for us, big fenced-in backyard for our dog to roam around worry-free, and only minutes to the slopes. Owner was very responsive to an issue with the sheets which were resolved promptly.

Autumnal relaxation

Great Highland Lakes Cottage! Clean & well stocked kitchen. Be careful going up or down Breakneck Rd. Thus time of year every view is beautiful! We did lots of small road trips taking in the sites and autumnal views!!

Perfect weekend

My family was down for the Spartan race weekend. The property is in a perfect location for proximity to the mountain, as well as Beaches and playgrounds for the kids. It comfortably fit four adults and two kids, and the fenced yard was great for the dog. Michael is a thoughtful and responsive owner, and we are looking forward to staying again next time we are down.
